I'm probably the only person on this site that's going to miss Deathknights. Besides Whispers of the old gods, Knights of the Frozen Throne was probably one of my favorite expansions. I felt like it embodied the essence of my favorite WoW expansion quite well, and I'm honestly going to miss them in standard play.
I like the cards but they should be like druid, shaman, paladin and warrior DK's instead mage, hunter or warlock, in other words, powerful cards but not win conditions for itselfs.
I think the worst part about DK's was that they were around for too long. They were fun and neat, but had too great an impact on the game for basically an entire 2 year period.

You're not alone. Loved Whispers as well, but my favorite time in WoW when I used to play was the WotLK expansion. The more Hearthstone aligns with the good stuff from WoW the more enjoyable it is for me (even though I retired from WoW awhile ago).
The problem was they were imbalanced af. Why is Gul'dan getting a up to 42 mana of rezzs and a 6 hp mana swing while Malfurion only gets either 2 1/5 taunts or 2 1/2 poisons with a choice between -1 armor +2 atk or +2 armor -1 atk?
I will admit it was fun for me to play with Rexxar. (Only other DK I had was Jaina, and I didn't really care for that deck much). But at the same time, I think death knights as a whole were bad for the Standard meta.
I'm fine with having to go to wild if I want to play with them again.
They were awesome when they were fresh. Some of them should have rotated out like baku and genn are now, but that would have resulted in too much free dust, I guess.
Even now there are many deathknights I do not mind. Thrall, Garrosh, Uther, Valeera, even malfurion was fine. (I hated all other druid cards, but not malfurion). I only mind andiun because of my extreme bias towards priest, and while I should hate Gul'Dan for its power, I actually don't.
It's really Jaina and ESPECIALLY rexxar that give hero cards a bad name.
Of course, I am going to miss them. They were OP and sometimes were game winning, but so was C'Thun or N'Zoth for example and I miss all of them. They are not gone for good, they are in Wild, but they had a nice flavour, like quests or legendary weps.
I am happy tho, that we move on, a new meta will come, a new OP, broken cards will emerge. Diversity and changing the scenery is a good thing.

They were a little overtuned (or undertuned in other cases), but I really like them. I think certain sets made them stronger than others. Jaina became really easy to use with a lot of the K&C and Year of the Raven cards. And Rexxar's beast pool got sillier and sillier as time went on.
Gul'dan was just always nuts.

No more deathknights woooo!! :D
Rumors are carried by haters, spread by fools, and accepted by idiots.
Not going to mis them.....
Because they are still here in Wild :-)

Sorry but you are. No more infinite value hunter and Jaina

I never hated them but DK's and quests added some spice and flavor to the decks. That's all gone now...

I totally like the DKs, but two years are enough now and as a standard and wild player I am fine with it anyways :)

No im not gonna miss Jaina and Rexxar and Guldan. Fuck them!!!
Hot take: Of the actually good Deathknights, Malfurion the Pestilent was the only one that wasn't completely broken.
Deathstalker Rexxar - lol....this takes "broken" to a new level
Frost Lich Jaina - 2-mana "Summon a Water Elemental" every turn.
Uther of the Ebon Blade - Aura effect: Fatigue? What fatigue? You just win the game unconditionally.
Shadowreaper Anduin - PEW PEW PEW PEW. So strong, they had to nerf a different card into the ground.
Valeera the Hollow - If you're Quest Rogue, literally never die or lose the board (thanks Scalehide + Zola!)
Thrall, Deathseer - Turn 5 summon a billion in stats, good luck.
Bloodreaver Gul'dan - At the start of the game, fuck this "2x card" restriction lol here's 6 Doomguards.
Scourgelord Garrosh - this is trash, this card doesn't count
