Pretty much the title. Jan'alai, the Dragonhawk is a must-have in Odd mage and since Baku is rotating out it will last more time to reach the effect of the mentioned card.
Yes. As soon as any form of control mage arises, Jan'alai will be in it. Daring Fire-Eater still exists to get there easier and control mages ping a lot anyway. Also, now there is Khadgar to double up on rags, and Barista Lynchen to double up on dragonhawks, fire-eaters or whatever else.

This. Trump got there pretty easily in his pre-release video, and the decks they were using weren't even optimized.

hillandder, what many combo decks are these? The only surviving combo deck from this meta is holy wrath paladin, we dont know how many actually viable combo decks will exist after the rotation
Jan'alai is quite possibly getting better in Rise of Shadows, despite the loss of Baku, with so many good cards going away. It's an auto-include in both Control Mage as a big threat that has to be dealt with and in tempo mage as a finisher.
Even outside of the Rag shots, it's 12/12 in stats for 7 mana, which is really good. For a class with the best AoEs in the game to keep the opposing board clear and enabling those shots to keep going face, it's a very powerful card.
I think the meta will be infested with aggro at the start of the new year, making it tough for any control mage to find its footing. It'll still see play later on though, it's got fantastic synergy with Khadgar.

Very hard to say, honestly i doubt it.
You cannot play it on turn 7 without Baku, I would just play Ragnaros
I think it might, because we still have cards like daring fire eater and clockwork automaton.
think of the spirit. But I guess it would be too unconsistent
And the Janalai's spirit.

Control mage can use this card, only need to spend two more slots for Fire Eaters, what is far from a bad card.
The question is, control will have a place in a meta without DK's and so many combos decks killing you from hand? I don't know...
Fire eaters are quite good tbh so they are worth inclusion if the deck is slow enough why not?
Spirit, eater, automaton, pixie. Everything is playable if you brave anough!
It is one of the better legendaries from RR, so don't dust it.

False . With the Mage Spirit and that fire breather, not to mention the clockwork mech... Is still very easy to deal 8 dmg with your hero power

I’ve played it without odd - I run Big Spell with her & Zola
it will find a place for sure. fire eater is a card people already run outside of baku, pyromaniac is still a good card just not busted.
it won't be in aggressive lists for sure because you won't curve it but it's still a great late game card and it's insane with Khadgar.

Sure it will... in Wild :)
If games can last to turn 8+ maybe
