It's a nice dream, but how long do you expect both cards to survive?
You're either running mostly 1-drops in case you don't draw the portal, or you're running more expensive stuff that will only work when the full combo is present -- which will be rare. Either way, it's not really worth adding a portal to the existing carpet zoolock.

Someone clearly doesn't understand it's not just 1 cost minions that get rush, with Portal everything 3 is 1 cost...that makes each Phantom Militia/Walnut with a portal on board are given rush. You can easily build your deck to take immediate advantage of the portal/carpet combo, and since you're in lock draw isn't an issue. The beauty of this combo is it doesn't pigeonhole you to an aggro archtype, the versatility, ESPECIALLY if any of these nerfs everying is whining and crying about, a midrange zoolock will have serious potential.
Why does everyone want everyone to play the same shit and not experiment, while crying like a baby that the meta is stale? Seems pretty dumb to me.

I understand how it works, but my point is that it's not worth building a deck like that. Sea Giant, yes, but Summoning Portal no.
I will be very surprised if Summoning Portal ever becomes a good card. As a same-turn-only effect (because it dies) that also takes up board space and has no Attack value, it's just waaaay too expensive to ever be playable.

Does this work with Aviana?
Sure does, same with something like Summoning Portal. Long as the cost is 1 as it's played it works.

Oh cool! I was thinking through an Aviana armor combo with this and Linecracker.
