blink fox, duskbat, elekk, cobra, jungle panther, king mukla, amalgam, ornery tourtoise, owl+ messenger raven and probably more that they will reveal. Thats 10% to get a 5/5 but also 10% to get a 2/1 haha I can imagine getting mukla, tourtoise, jungle panther or elekk in some decks could be very good but a deck that could make the card work would need to be very specific and now that radiants and lyra are gone I can't put it in my standard priest.
Much better vex crow tbh. It summons a more narrow and stronger set of cards.
I'd like to compare this to Nightscale Matriarch which has a similar stat line and summons an average 3-drop each time one of your minions is healed (which could be seen as casting a spell). The dragon doesn't see much play but is it just because it's a Priest minion?
The crow is in the same spot and that's why I think a slower version of it won't see much more play.
It's better! At 4-mana, you really need something powerful in the same turn. That's a point in the game where cost efficiency really matters, with regards to tempo gain. At 7-mana, you're starting to get to the point where cost efficiency with regard to tempo gain matters less. If you can combo this at all, it's going to be one of those "must remove" threats. I know the comparison might be a bit of a stretch, but take a look at another "understatted" 7-drop that has a "whenever you cast a spell, do a thing" effect, Archmage Antonidas. It doesn't take much creativity to think of where this card could be used; just look for classes with useful cheap spells. Rogue, Priest, and Druid all immediately come to mind.

Life before death. Strength before weakness. Journey before destination.

That's a good comparison.
But I also think Nightscale Matriarch is significantly harder to snowball. Part of it is, like you said, the priest class. Classically, it doesn't really do zoo often or particularly well.
Secondly, it's easier to spam 1 mana spells than it is to spam multiple heals in a turn. Healing also requires targets in need of healing. Spells can do whatever you want, and be used for whatever purpose, and can be activated as often as you have mana for them.
Truth be told, I think one of Vex Crow's greatest downfalls, besides it's weaker choice of minions (but that's why it costs 4 and not 7 mana), is the fact that Doomsayer is in the pool.
EDIT: Also, vex crow occupies the same spot as Violet Teacher, which always felt weird to me.
Looks bad in most decks. May see a place in a Summon Mage deck. This, Vex Crow, and the new Mage Legendary and 8 mana spell to just generate a load of board control while using small spells. Probably throw in Tony for the deck as well.
Now as you can see, the chance to get a legitimately bad result is almost non-existant, compared to some of the genuinely good outcomes (the average ones are basically just vanilla minions for the most part, while everything above that can really swing the game in your favor)
Granted, we can assume that in the final stream dump there'S going to be a couple battlecry-focussed 3-cost beasts, but even then, since you ideally cast multiple spells with this you're almost always gonna get your mana'S worth
EDIT: added basic beasts, because I forgot they don't show up when you go to the crafting tab in your collection

How is a 3/2 that draws you a mage minion on the same level as Iron Beak Owl?

because it's battlecry won't activate, so it's a vanilla 3/2 which puts it below the average 3-mana statline
I think this card could probably see play in a paladin deck with secrets.. you don't have divine favor anymore so if you happen to draw some secrets that are low impact late you could save them to play with this card, sort of like mech mage used to play antonidas back in GVG.
looking at the pool of 3 mana beasts in standard post rotation the average 3 cost beast is quite good with less board clears in the game a big board swing of this card could be game ending.
other classes that could play it are rogue, druids (Also beast synergies) and hunter.
Mage could use this card aswell but antonidas is stronger probably since you can end the game with him normally if you meet his conditions.. or maybe both for redundancy (or 2 copies of this AND antonidas)
Silverback patriarch reporting for duty!

This card is really, really, really weird. Not to mention weak AF.
+1
I think it's okay as it is.
My fanmade expansion! (Click on pack to open packs with my cards)
Ironfur Grizzly, Silverback Patriarch, Blink Fox, Duskbat, Ironbeak Owl, Jungle Panther, Ornery Tortoise, Empereror Cobra, Augmented Elekk, Nightmare Amalgam, and King Mukla. also Messenger Raven in the next expansion.
only 11 if you don't include the ones that are rotating.

Good but slow. Too slow, imo, no matter the synergy she can find.
(Unless cheated out early ofc)
Card that potentially could give Silverback Patriarch some play time?
Decent. Just for the memes.
My first thought: them releasing this card exactly when <card>vicious fledgling</card>is leaving standard is not a coinsidence
So I've decided to rate all the possible results so far:
Bad: Ironbeak Owl, Messenger Raven
Average: Blink Fox, Augmented Elekk, Nightmare Amalgam, Duskbat, Ironfur Grizzly, Silverback Patriarch
Good: Jungle Panther, Emperor Cobra, Ornery Tortoise
Supreme: King Mukla

I tried having fun once. It was awful.
Miracle Hunter incoming boiz
Exotic Mountseller, Backstab, Prep, Sap
Exotic Mountseller, Topsy, Regenerate
Exotic Mountseller, Innervate, Biology Project, Pounce, Crystal Power, etc etc
This won't be hard to go wide on turn 7 in at least these classes.
