It's a good card but not meta defining or in the whoa category. It doesn't add anything. It takes what you have in your hand and shuffles it back in your deck and gives you new cards from your deck. Can't see how this will change anything other than giving Locks a chance to get rid of a bad hand and get the card they may need for that turn. I'm missing where this really has any concrete effect on a match.
The concrete effect is in the form of infinite value if combined with augmented elek. Vs control decks or midrange this will come in handy as u will never fatigue while maintaining control of the board with twisting nethers etc. Not meta defining but very good as it can win u control matchups

If you have another copy of this it becomes a Dead Man’s Hand with the Elekk...
A lot of people people point out elek. But wouldnt you draw *that* many cards? Meaning that you cant shuffle more than 5 cards without overdrawing? I am unsure about this interaction.

thats something we probably should test before anything, most of people think that being the elek who add the rest of the card you shuoldn't that much of extra cards, but, yogg saron gives you the overload of the shaman spells that he cast so, i don't know

You don't draw more cards than you have in hand. At least that is what I understand from Plot Twist (card text: "Shuffle your hand into your deck. Draw that many cards"). You shuffle your hand into your deck. Augmented Elekk shuffles the same cards again into your deck. Plot twist draws you cards equal to your previous hand size.
Elekk is a nice tool to avoid fatigue. But if you have a good hand, you probably don't want to shuffle it into your deck. And if you don't have a good hand (for that matchup), you probably don't want to have the bad cards in your deck either. So I don't think Augmented Elekk is a great combo (unless it is aimed at avoiding fatigue but I expect that to be a rare issue).

If you draw as many as you shuffle (meaning it's draw can be increased it's a 2 card combo to draw cards, if it doesn't work like this this is DMH for 2 cards that shuffles your hand as well.
the first one is more powerful in my opinion, and is more consistent with the wording of the card.
Well, it's unclear what happens. Elek says "whenever you shuffle, shuffe an extra card", so it might also add to the number of cards drawn. In that case, you would draw more than your previous handsize, hence possibly overdrawing.
Even if it doesnt work that way: This cars is really hard to rate. Control warlock basically looses everything: defile, voidlord, dreadlord, cube, rin, lackey. The whole shell is gone. Remember how bad warlock was before these cards?
This seems like a support card in an already good control deck.
I'm not convinced in the combo with betrug. I have faith in this card, but not in betrug.
I can see myself playing this card alone in a pinch to refresh my cards in a control deck, but this + betrug doesn't really do all THAT much. It is not a gamebreaking combo by any means and betrug alone is just horrible.
But you know what, there is always rafaam. You can try to save this until you draw betrug, and when you can't save this you can change betrug into another random legendary.
I don't know. The idea for the new warrior deck seems to be that you have a lot of conditional cards and rely on your carddraw to have the right cards at the right moment, then change all the cards you don't need into random legendaries. That has certainly worked before, but I just feel there will be better options for cards to put in that deck than betrug.

Yeah that's why I don't hype slowish warlock cards too much..
I think this expansion the only playable warlock deck will be zoo, most people who evaluate stuff here don't think about what's available and what's not anymore when evaluating card all go with max 2-3 synergy cards or cards as stand alone mostly the stand alone/vaccum rating which is the worst way to evaluate a card, post rotating it's the hardest to evaluate cards but as of now a control warlock seems dead to me.
There are no good heals/taunts/AOEs for warlock so far.. and we didn't see any neutral defensive options too.
Looking at the warlock cards from the year of the raven.. not too much to look for control warlock(ignored all the obviously bad cards like Void Contract for example):
So if we see a control warlock it would probably go with a lot of neutrals or discard synergy (as seen in some zalae cubelock lists) so looking at the new cards + cards we got for warlock in general this expansion the main direction is zoo which has a lot of support in classic + year of the raven + there are all those mechs which are really good when you can draw them with life tap.
The archtypes being pushed over the year of the raven is discard, zoo or sacrifcial zoo. so far this expansion we also got more zoo/sacrificial zoo support mostly.
Anyway I just don't believe warlock will be playing a slow deck this expansion because of all the cards it lost to rotation.. unless we see new cards to support control warlock.
I know there's an OTK there, depending on how Elekk works. Let's see...
You just need to get 1x Dorian, 2x Plot Twist, and 3x Malygos into your hand. Then you deck yourself and play Dorian (5 mana), Plot Twist (2 mana), Plot Twist (2 mana), Soulfire (1 mana) for 34 damage.
Also potentially some other combinations of Dollmaster Dorian + Augmented Elekk + Plot Twist where you can just perpetually rip broken shit out of your deck every turn...
Not sure control / otk warlock will have the support in this set, but things to consider going forward as they reveal new cards and release new expansions.
For other uses:
Of course, naturally, you can just use it to dig for that card you desperately need, instead of tapping for it.
You can also combine it with The Soularium as 3 mana combo that draws you 3 and replaces your bad cards with hopefully good ones, or as a potential midgame reload in zoo, when you can afford to Soularium but not to play the stuff you'd draw.
The only reasonable antecedent "that many" could refer to is "your hand."
It's pretty clear that you draw cards equal to your previous hand size, and it has nothing to do with extra cards that may or may not be shuffled into your deck at the same time.
This card isn't responsible for any additional cards getting shuffled in, so it doesn't make any sense that it would count those when drawing.

Amazing card, a shuffle for 2 mana should be meta-defining. Especially is good if you can game your hand size somehow, but just being able to replace crappy hands is more than worth it.
And yeah, with Betrug at 10 mana it's completely bonkers.

I think this card is horrible. Easy 1/5 Stars

This card is good though. On its own.

Classic set: Flame Imp(zoo), Blood Imp(zoo),Demonfire(zoo),Void Terror(sacrificial zoo),Shadowflame(OG handlock),Siphon Soul(control/handlock),Twisting Nether(control),Lord Jaraxxus(control/handlock win condition)
Witchwood: Lord Godfrey(midrange/control/slow zoo as a comeback maybe), Duskbat(zoo), Witchwood Imp(sacrificial zoo) and maybe Ratcatcher(sacrificial zoo)
Boombsday:Doubling Imp(zoo), Soul Infusion(zoo),Omega Agent(midrange/can be played in zoo), The Soularium(discard/zoo),Void Analyst(Zoo),Nethersoul Buster(Zoo)
Rastakan's rumble:Grim Rally(sacrificial zoo),Demonbolt(zoo),High Priestess Jeklik(Discard, or discard zoo?),Shriek(control discard),Reckless Diretroll (zoo or control discard),Soulwarden(discard control or zoo), Blood Troll Sapper(maybe in an aggressive sacrificial zoo).

Possibilities for Fel Lord Betrug in there too, of course. Maybe even Untamed Beastmaster if you can fit some busted beasts into zoo.

This card is game breaking.

May not be some insane OP card, but the flavor and concept behind it are great!

The 8 mana destroy half deck card. Have elek in hand this card in hand. Play elek and this card. Repeat. Bam.
such salt much BM.
OP will be using this card.

you died to 10 mana tempo disadvantage then come to the forum to complain your opponents are playing cards

There was a PvE boss in Witchwood who had a hero power just like that
