Welp, there is now ZERO reason to use Al'akir now when there's a flat out better version that can not only heal you, but you can have two copies.
Please buff Al'akir.
I dont follow, the cards are similar, but not the same. Divine shield can absorb more (or less) damage. Al akir has taunt which might be better than healing. Also al akir is a finisher with charge while rush is not helping at all on an empty board.

1) in wild, divine shield for the corpse taker, there are no really good even costed divine shield minions,I am aware wild even shaman doesn't use corpsetaker anyway.
2)if you play flametongue totem (which I am aware costs 3 now) in your deck and you can protect it or have a way to make alakir cost 7, or you run rockbiter weapon in your deck you can deal 10 with the totem or 12 with the rockbiter weapon.
3) alakir got taunt which is good against chargers (not as much as other taunts but still).
4)Those are weak reasons but I got another one-> redundancy maybe you want all 3 of alakir and walking fountains in your deck, for the morph guy that's 8 damage to face for 5 while having better stats on board.
There are not zero reasons, it's a better card in most common scenarios but the alakir got the edge in some of them.
Al'akir is the ONLY minion with both charge and windfury (thank god), and it makes that card not comparable to this one. They litterally serve two completely different functions.
The reason why everyone is confused, is because Al'Akir is used as a comeback card more often than not these days. And that is exactly what this card is a million times better at, coming back from behind.
But is this a better Al'Akir? Heck no. Can't go face at all.
Edit: and to the inevitable response of "it can go face if it survives a turn". Well, that's a very big "if", isn't it?
Here's the thing, Charge nowadays is only good for OTKs, and when was the last time Al'akir was used for an OTK? Plus, sure Divine Shield can absorb more damage, but Walking Fountain has 8 health so he could already absorb so much damage. Add that with the fact it has lifesteal which is always good to have, and he's just flat out better than Al'Akir for control decks.

Still no reason to buff Al'Akir. Not until they change charge to rush as well. A card's power is as much in what it COULD do as it is in what it CAN do. Good example would be Hadronox.
Stormwatcher power creep is real. Trash in Constructed but will actually be quite good in Arena. You can double trade getting a 2 for 1 with 3 for 1 potential plus a healthy heal to your face.

Redundancy maybe you want more copies then cause of the new 4/4 that mimcs cards in your deck or eureka to have more big things to cheat out.
and it's not only good for OTK having reach to close up games is important I saw lists of control warrior with leeroy + faceless just to close up games.
They clearly missed divine shield and taunt on this one ! ;)
That is a really strong for a common!. First what comes to mind when looking at this card is Zilliax and Al'Akir the Windlord. Wow are we really comparing common to really good legendaries ???
Well there are some differences. Both legendaries have taunt and divine shield, which are not present in Walking Fountain. This is quite difference. Opponent can ignore this card and go face if looking for lethal, but in any other case this card forces removal.
Biggest issue with this card is fact that it is slow. Can Shaman get to turn 8 to play this big boy? We still need to see some more cards for shaman, but with what have been revealed so far (swampqueen Hagatha and her scheme and perhaps even newly revealed Muckmorpher(Muckmorpher thread here)) we might hope for shaman to be a thing now.
I really cant say it will be played 100% sure, but i like this card and fid it playable at least, hope to see it in constructed next month. Tbh im surpirsed this card has no overload attached.
How is it slow? It has rush lol! the enemy will just go face? You will clear their board and heal at the same time lol, this card is excellent.
Out of all of the common cards that they revealed so far... this one is actually very playable and very powerful. I can definitely see this card being used in a few types of Shaman decks.
Great in Arena. In Standard, could be used as a mid-range healing effect against aggro AND removing smaller minions.
Without all the discover elementals and generators, not sure this is as good. This card is also good to get through any class and neutral discover effects, like Mage or Shaman.
The fact that this exists means that elemental decks have really good healing now.

Al'akir can go face.
And Blizzard said a long time ago, they had considered buffing Al'akir but the data indicates it's one of the best top deck cards in the game, for this reason they decided to keep it this way.
Good all-around card. Auto-include in almost every shaman deck that will pop after the rotation, in my opinion. And because the cost is so high, it's not that broken.

Eureka rockbiter*2 is 10 mana 18 damage.
If this was neutral it had to be epic or even legendary rarity
and i missed a lifesteal elemental. here we go :-). OK 8 is harsh but it´s a threat and OK.
Now we know why Flametongue Totem got nerfed.

hello even shaman
wouldn't you like to know?
Strong when behind, strong when ahead, this card is near perfect lol

I'm glad elementals are still going strong, and I'm glad this doesn't require a previously played elemental in order to be excellent.

Play sound better be, “Lifesteal strikes twice!” with the sound of Stormwatcher quietly sobbing in the background.
