A little worse than Deathlord and unfortunately much much worse than Dirty Rat. But I guess it's better than nothing.
Why is it worse than Deathlord? If you are facing an aggro deck, then yeah, it is worse. But if you play it and have a removal for the recruited minion, your opponent can't do anything about it. In the deathlord's case the opponent can silence it or they might draw their win-condition before you get to kill the 2/8 taunt.
Love it. We got a new neutral combo disruptor and will most likely pull out late game minions. Deathlord is cheaper, but this does not have to worry about getting silenced and it is an immediate effect because it is a battlecry.
At least it is neutral so if combo decks start becoming prevalent, every class will have a chance to fight it and not just warlock. I think we always need to have at least one neutral combo disruptor in standard to keep combo decks in check.
That this is a good anti-combo and anti-control (in terms of fatigue) tech, it is and it will be used like the aforementionted cards are heaviliy used. The only thing I don't know if this would create frustrating moments for combo players. I remember some people hating Dirty Rat, because it was a auto-win if it targeted the right minion.
Yeah, and it was auto-win for the opponent if it didn't. It sounds kinda fair to me.
I edited my post. I agree with you, that Dirty Rat might not always pull the right minion, which means a loss for you. And the new mech is kinda fair, taking into consideration that the chances of pulling the wrong minion from the opponent's deck are higher than if it were in their hand. Not to mention, if you draw the mech pretty late, you can't do anything about the win-condition sitting in the opponent's hand. So I agree with you, that all of those things make it fairer.
Look, I don't play combo decks so I don't really feel guilty if I manage to pull the enemy's win-condition. But I just agree with some people, that such designs are a step in the wrong direction. In terms of design, I prefer tech cards such as Mojomaster Zihi, which offer a more elegant solution.
Dirty rat could be timed to hit combo pieces, this is much more random. Play this and it pulls out novice engineer against exodia mage....
I am not so afraid of hitting endgame minions because you don't normaly play this without hex-effects or hard removal in hand. Against agro you could but then the taunt body is strong enough. I am just afraid it is not certain enough of a disruption against combo decks.
I really love to play combo decks, but not just otk stuff, this will lead to a lot more interesting gameplay. This is just awesome, will be featured in many videos where it pulls something too big to handle :D
I think it's better than deathlord because it allows you to deal with the pulled minion immediately and can also be buffed with Zilliax and other magnetic minions.
This is nowhere as good as Dirty Rat. Because the minion is in the deck and usually when you want to disrupt the combo, the combo piece is in the hand, not in the deck.
Plus what this says is basically "Your opponent draws a card and puts that card into play", which is absolutely bad drawback. Where Dirty Rat had no "Your opponent draws a card" drawback.
So it is basically a Deathlord, whose drawback hits on battlecry and with a horrible statline for the drawback. Bad card.

It's also: Your opponent enters fatigue a turn earlier. Can be very relevant in a value matchup, which is where the game seems to be going.
May I turn your attention to the fact, that this is also a tech for control decks versus other control decks?
I wrote it in my first comment explaining how this will bring the opponent closer to fatigue. And since we won't have infinite value generating cards anymore (I surely hope this is the case), the fatigue mechanic will start to be relevant again. So imho the mech will be meta-defining solely because of this reason.

Better than Deathlord because of the battlecry. Great disruption card.
Release the Kraken!
This really is the reprint expansion.
When they talked about "callback" cards I thought this would be just a few cards, not half the set.
Anyway, very good card, destroys aggro on play, destroys combo with luck and skill, will see play.
meta defining

Like Deathlord , i guess we will see it here and there . But its not a must have in most decks.
Also i guess Rouges would keep Togwaggle in their hand anyway.
Wont be in every deck but nice to have incase combo becomes to stong.
So it has the same effect as Deathlord right? The wording is totally different, for some incomprehensible reason, but does the same thing?

LOVING this

It's not rng if you call - Amaz
Omg! It will be in every deck for about 2 years!
also Warrior can play it many many many times
so we need to play 5 mana 3-3 kill mech also in every deck, and 2 silences for sure
So the next meta will truly be battlefield oriented
So blizz made warrior great again... but I DONT play warrior
This isn't very good but maybe it will make control players stop moaning.

tome to play Hakkar :-)
Pretty nice card. Can be used to disrupt combo, and with removal in hand you can neutralize pretty mych everything he pulls with battle cry.

Best part: it‘s not an epic! Sadly it‘s wayyyy weaker than dirty rat... i‘m Not Even sure that it‘s better than gnomeferatu!
