Finally, some playable 1-drop for Shaman after TWO years of BS such as Witch's Apprentice or Air Elemental being thrown at Thrall. I still have my doubts about it as the Lackeys are situational (e.g. Goblin Lackey would be useless on turn 2, same goes for Witchy Lackey in case the 2/1 died). Also, maybe you'd want to play Likkim on turn 2 followed up with Hench-Clan Thug + Zap! (certainly playable considering Aggro Shaman uses 4 weapons with 3 or 8 durability) next turn?
1 mana, decent stats, Elemental tag (hello, Elementary Reaction!) and NO Overload. Is that really too much to ask for, Blizz?
Turn 1 you play this, and turn 2 you play the lackey. Niceeeeeeee!!!
There are only one problem. Not all lackeys are good turn 2 play
discover a spell - well, that is not a skipped turn, but it is very slow deal 2 damage - this is good only if you opponent played something to target. Often they were pinging down your 2/1 or are control deck that don't play stuff early 1\1+1 attack rush for another minion - afwul even if 2/1 survived 1\1+ random 2 drop - yes! this one is a good turn 2. 1\1+evolve... well nope, even if your 2/1 survived, there are little value evolving it.
Although it's just a rare it's one of the most defining cards of the set for me; great Firefly replacement, great stats, great synergy with Shudderwock & Murlocs, and new Lackey generation to hopefully set Shaman up for the new year. Looks great in a Midrange Overload Shaman deck, initial theorycraft below:

Oh, true) But it is not meant to be played that way)
If only Dust Devil was 1 mana overload... It would be actually good against non-ping classes.
One of my dreams that Team 5 will abandon no buffs for basic\classic policy... Sadly it is just a dream, they'll never do this.

Pretty good in aggro shaman, but the overload means it's not an auto include in every shaman list. Good balance.

Yep, seems this card has self synergy as well as other Aggro support like the weapon Likkem.
And if the lackey summons a 2 drop or evolves your 1 drop, that seems really strong too.
Or do 2 damage to the minion that your opponent played to challenge the board.
Also works with Shudderwock to get more value late game, as you can play the lackey after you play Shudderwock on turn 9.
This also works with Hagatha because it generates 2 spells for 1 card by playing 2 minions.
