it looks like a decent midrange card, great in wild spell hunter, that's for sure.
it's a high value card, 5/5 rush is around 4.5 mana (militia commander), but you get for 1.5 "draw a card"
how is a 5/5 rush minion worth 4.5 mana!?!?
you can determine how much a minion will cost by adding up their stats, then dividing it by two. then you can account for their keywords and abilities. so a 5/5 minion would be worth 5 mana, and adding rush will not decrease the value by .5
Militia Commander was 4 mana because the 5 attack could not go face. it could only trade for the 5 attack. this can hit your opponents face for 5 damage. and therefore, is worth more mana.
Militia Commander is a rediculously strong card on purpose. Warrior is meant to be the king of rush. You can't balantly say that this is bad because the other card is more efficient, it's another class. For instance, warrior doesn't have Zul'jin, which is where this card gets a large part of his power from.
Glad this is rare btw. And @OP: where is the vote?
Not talking about this card in this post but for the record Militia Commander is only decent or above average, she is nowhere near ridiculously strong., even my homebrew decks struggles to find a spot for her.
A 5/5 for 5 with rush wouldn't see play. Adding 1 Mana for "Battlecry: draw a bad card" doesn't make it any more tempting. Might work in a Zul'jin value/control deck, but, I don't think that will be any good
So a Springpaw for 5 mana would not see play? Cause that is exactly what you expressed here.
Remember people, will be a meta without odd decks or DK's like Jaina and Gul'Dan.
This card make the hunter hero insanely good, you need only x1 copy of this card, x1 deadly shot, x1 animal companion and x1 secret in the entire game to win in the battlecry.
Alone is bad but the hero card make this broken, you will replay all the spells for free, all the tempo you lost casting in the game will be recovered 5 times with the battlecry.

Your equation is used to find "fair" cards, which don't cut it anymore.
Evaluating cards by equations and algorithms doesn't work all that well in many cases.
This card will be bonkers for the meta we are about to enter.

Nope, it definitely wouldn't
5-mana 5/5 Rush with Beast synergy would absolutely see play. In fact, we've seen several 5-mana 5/5s with tribal synergy see play. Bonfire Elemental, Cobalt Scalebane, Emberscale Drake, Wargear in some decks....But that's besides the point. This minion is most comparable to Zilliax or Scaleworm. You get removal, a body, and tribe synergy, and in most cases, regaining the tempo. If the life gain and taunt doesn't matter for Hunter (which, as a tempo class, really shouldn't....), then this card should see play, as both of those other cards see competitive play.

Life before death. Strength before weakness. Journey before destination.
The card is balanced, that's all i have to say, but if you google "wyvern" you can clearly see its a dragon, so why the beast tag? (other than Hunter synergies)
So the thing people seem to be forgetting about this card.
The power level is going to be "lower." I put that in quotation marks, because what I REALLY mean, is slower. Aggro will always exist, but with so many (basically ALL) combo decks cycling out, control is going to have a chance to shine again. Whenever control decks are meta, value and midrange decks are as well, and this is a GREAT midrange/value card. So while it's pretty garbage in the current meta, the meta is about to get a lot slower, and a 6 mana spell to deal 5 damage to a minion with the potential for value later, and effectively getting to have 4 of them in your deck is a pretty significant amount of value.

Rabid Worgen sees play in warrior and is a great tempo card. Scaleworm sees play. 5/5 Rush Beast would probably see play in hunter. 5/5 Rush Beast that gives you another 5/5 Rush Beast would absolutely see play.

From Wiki:
Wyvern is a biped legendary creature with a dragon's head and wings, a reptilian body, two legs, and a tail often ending in a diamond- or arrow-shaped tip.
It all depends on the new meta. By itself, there is always a good 6 drop that Hunters should be using that much stronger than this. However, Zul'jin makes this card a lot more stronger and a lot more value. A control Hunter deck doesn't seem like it would work without the DK. We'll see.
Better Twinspell card that synergizes with Zul'jin. If control midrange can be played, this is a great card to run with.
a 5/5 rush isnt anything to scoff at honestly, especially a 5/5 rush that can be played again. Then both can be resummoned by a hero card or a Revenge of the Wild
As a card on its own, this is kinda underwhelming. However, adding this into the Zul'jin pool is really good and will not only let you create two 5/5 rush beasts when you play your hero, but add another non-twinspell copy to your hand. This is just a lot of value and will let you interact with the board after you change heroes, removing any surviving threats with your rush.
By the way, Peter Whalen said on his Twitter that “no matter how the first Twinspell is cast, the copy is added to your hand”, so Zul'jin will also add two more Unleash the Beasts to your hand for good measure.

Seems really good with Zuljin, and also playable as a standalone.
It's not a very exciting card though, I was expecting something more original..
Looks really solid to me. Slower hunter decks are generally starved for board control, so this'll be pretty good for that.
The Zul'jin synergy is really nice too.
So the thing people seem to be forgetting about this card.

r u kiddng me? 55 rush is at least 6 mana. Militia commander is 25 rush with one time only plus 3 attack.
Rabid Worgen sees play in warrior and is a great tempo card. Scaleworm sees play. 5/5 Rush Beast would probably see play in hunter. 5/5 Rush Beast that gives you another 5/5 Rush Beast would absolutely see play.

He's just following the rules.

From Wowwiki:
Wyvern is a sentient wolfish-lion with bat wings and a scorpion tail native to Kalimdor.

So yeah Wyvern from wow has nothing in common with a dragon apart from wings, tail and the fact it can fly.

This card looks dope with Revenge of the wild.
I'd rather play a Savannah Highmane on 6 in most circumstances, but the Zul'jin synergy can't be ignored.

Lots of options here
Blizzard wants to make a control hunter that isn't contingent on 1 single hero card?
