1. It's a Pirate, which means alot of synergy there.
2. It's a spell that gets discovered, not a class card. Spells means that your Discover pool is limited. That is more powerful than having choices from all the class cards.
The spell thing is what peaks my interest. It means the spell you get can work with Auctioneer. And if you still have a Prep, you can use whatever spell you got to make sure you draw more cards at a cheaper rate.
In Wild, you have Yogg, Arcane Giants and all of that. I actually think this will see some play.
Something is off with the thematics for this expansion - a lot of the card art is not linking with the name or what the card does - are they phoning it in?

Dr. Boom's Scheme is an obvious misfit, but this is a kobold (known for stealing stuff) with a pirate's cutlass. How does it not work?
I crafted Tess so I can only be happy about this card. Discover a spell that can't target Tess to begin with, would be pretty nice, instead of randomly getting a Twisting nether that will break the Tess chain.
Twisting Nether won't stop Tess' battlecry. Unlike Shudderwock and Yogg, Tess continues even if she kills/transforms/silences herself (or if you've changed class she can Vanish herself, which is actually extremely powerful). If you have played a lot of minions from other classes it can be quite an effective board clear then refill. Rather than being wary of her killing accidentally herself, just pick whatever you expect to need most in that given game....
... unless you're playing in wild and Psychic Scream is offered. NEVER play that card before Tess.

YES. YES. 100 TIMES YES. Huge card for Tess Rouge if you run the Pirate package.
