I like the direction they're going with burgle cards. In the future, "cards from your your opponent's class" will instead be worded as "cards from another class" in order to make the burgle rogue mirror not so awful.
And I hate it. Like HATE it. It is one thing to play around your class cards in your opponent hand. This is completely another thing to play around every freaking possible spell.
I was so happy with good RNG from lackeys... I was like "Oh, they are learning" and then this ******
Blink fox is a great card, and this is quite comparable to blink fox. 4 mana 4/3 is worse tempo than 3 mana 3/3, but discovering a spell is much better than getting a random card, so it's a trade off: a bit less tempo, a bit more value. I like it.

Also, pirate tag, unlike beast tag, has meaning for rogues.
They should retcon Academic Espionage, Blink Fox, etc. to have the same text. Thief Rogue is pretty solidly a Tier 2 deck, and I don't expect it to become Tier 1. The text change would actually make it more inconsistent, but would make the Rogue mirror much, much, much more fun.
In Wild even Lotus Assassin sees play in burgle/tesspionage/steal Rogues because of the variety of spells and because of being a mirror match tool. So I think this will see play too. Also the Pirate tag will probably make the already experimented with steal-tempo/pirate rogue better.
I do appreciate that they found a way to make the mirror matchup less awful, but I also dislike that the stolen cards now aren't confined to a single class. Besides cards from the same class having synergy with each other, it felt conniving, perhaps even evil, to beat your opponent with cards from their own class. The flavor of stealing from your opponent is nice, whereas now you just steal from... somewhere. The game, I suppose?
Admittedly, being able to choose from all classes does open up the possibility of some insane combos we haven't seen before, but I would have preferred it if they handled it differently. Perhaps deciding another class before the game and causing all discovers and steals to come from that class, instead of your opponent's - then you have no mirror matchup grief, but you still have the cohesive flavor of pretending to be something you're not.
But at least Kleptorogue and the randomness that comes with it, which only Hearthstone can offer, may perhaps now be more competitive. I look forward to that... while also hoping that it does not become too competitive, as that deck would be, especially with this design change, impossible to predict and very frustrating.

Don't act like you could play around "random card from your opponents class" generators before it's literally impossible even with smaller card pool. If you were trying to do that, you were wasting a lot of brain ressources imo. It's just not worth it and will lower your winrate. Well it certainly lowers mine when I try. For every pyroblast that you play around there is a flamestrike that will crush you. For every twisting nether that you play around there is a Voidlord that will crush you.
Of course if you can, you do it. If you can heal up to avoid potential pyroblast, fine. But if you need to stop filling the board to avoid potential twisting nether when this is your main strategy, that's when you start to regret things. So why try to play around it in the first place? You'll just make bad plays for free.
Heavy RNG and it costs 4, which for Rogues can compromise a lot the turn if the picked card has not a big value. In the end it's a risk you don't want to take.
Probably too bad stat-wise for espionage rogue and I don't think it will be anywhere near consistent enough to fit into any other decks, especially as more expansions come out. Maybe in a pirate rogue though?

Oh, Lethal - where did you go? I miss you all the time.
Is this the ONLY mechanic they put on rogue cards all the time? can they stop printing those cards? I wish rogue had it's own identity instead of stealing cards that's quite annoying.. and not creative at all.. every expansion 2-3 cards are for thief rogue.. seriously..
no other class gets such treatment for such a long time of giving a mechanic which is MEH in so many forms, it was insteresting at first but now it's just "oh another steal random cards clownfiesta card for rogue huh?".
If you don't want to give rogue powerful cards just nerf/rotate classic cards like you did with the rest of the classes.
I crafted Tess so I can only be happy about this card. Discover a spell that can't target Tess to begin with, would be pretty nice, instead of randomly getting a Twisting nether that will break the Tess chain.

Great. Finally Tess Rogue can work vs other rogues too
A better Shifting Shade I'd say

This may be the 4-drop Miracle and tempo decks needed to replace Faldorei Strider. Hopefully there is a better option down the line though.
This space is intentionally blank.

Pirate tribal adds something to it, but the variance is radically wide.
Blink Fox is probably still better, and no one is playing that anymore.
Reasonable simply because Hooktusk exists. Not as good off of Hook as Scalper, but a better stand alone. Probably play both.
Seriously. People. Hooktusk is broken. This makes her better. Why arent we paying attention to this.

It's good that we are seeing more of "another class" instead of "opponent's class". This will make thief rogue against rogue viable.

This is the 4 mana value card rogue needed

Finally, the matchup burgle rogue vs another rogue isn't pointless.
Just bad as weaponized pinata
