People on Reddit speculated this used to be a boom type of card that got a last minute overnerf. Blizz was out of time so they just nerfed it to oblivion without further testing.
I don't understand what Blizzard was thinking with Dr. Boom's Scheme. First of all, why is Dr. Boom giving armor? I get that he has that mech suit now and as a hero he gave armor, but it feels so far away from what Dr. Boom is. Second of all, who thought 4 mana was the place for that? I don't know if anyone would play this at 1 mana. We had Iron Hide, which was 1 mana for 5 armor and that saw virtually no play. If they wanted it to cost 4 mana, it should be more like "Gain 5 armor. (Upgrades by 3 each turn)" or something that made it really worth having a dead card for.
I actually don't understand the logic behind this card. Why does it exist like this? A potentially powerful effect in the late game, but it will always be overshadowed by cheaper or more powerful cards. It's true many of these are rotating out of standard, but even shield block is a thing... This could've at least started with more armour so that it isn't a dead draw in the late game. Make it like a 4 mana gain 5 armour upgrade each turn and at least then it has some potential.. This is honestly one of the worst cards I've ever seen, like it's up there with purify and at least purify was fun.
Blizzard; April Fools Day is 7 days away... couldn't you have waited until then to give us this absolute joke of a card?
This is actually the worst card in Hearthstone. Bolf Ramshield at least has the dignity to not demand you hold it for 9 turns before it effectively gives 9 armour.
This card is as bad as things like Millhouse Manastorm, Temporus and Majordomo Executus which effectively have Battlecry: Concede. At least these awful cards have meme potential, and are Legendaries so wouldn't pop up every other pack unlike this packfiller common. [Also Majordomo was an Adventure card]
I see one potential fit. Discover it on turn 2 as a dragon warrior against a control opponent. Then, just maybe....it’ll be an ok card. Can’t see this ever in a deck slot though.

Purify Priest was, and still is a viable Wild deck; it's the core card for synergy...this is like Deathwing, you use it as your last card, and that's it. It's not deck defining at all, especially compared to Purify.

If you thought you knew what you think I know, then you'd know I knew you knew I know.
This is actually the worst card ever printed in any card game. Stinks to high heaven of having been nerfed down from 2 armor or something. More likely changed last minute from something that had to do with bombs. The card art makes no sense. I could do a better job. Who got paid to make this card? Get better devs.
I don't honestly think you undertand how high hearthstone sets the lower bound of card power compared to other games... Mtg prints at least one 2/2 for 2 with no text in about every set (at the rare slot a 3/2 or 2/3 for 2 with significant upside isn't uncommon), not to mention lots of high cost cards with poor statlines and very marginal upside that are even difficult to get any value out of in draft. There are also total garbage piles like a 2 mana 2/2 with no upside that destroys your mana when it dies, and a whole host of incredibly mechanically confusing cards that barely do anything if you can even figure out what their effects are supposed to mean.
It's really not anywhere close to the worst hearthstone card. It's not good, and it's simultaneously boring and weak, but it's best to have at least a little bit of perspective. Hearthstone pack filler is much stronger than pack filler from most other card games, and this card could honestly be frustrating to play against if it cost 1-2 mana instead of four.
control warrior can play this despite its terrible value. being 4 mana means you can play it with that ...another trash spell that summons minion that cost equal to armor you got
its terrible card but considering power level is grounded this expansion and warrior is gonna be one of only classes with hero card means warrior will see very long games so his scheme being weakest makes sense since giving him strong one will break meta
So am I the only one that would be happy to have this in my opening hand in a control warrior deck ?
If warrior can hold dead man's hand for 15 turns, they can hold this for 15 turns as well.
Maybe it's bad.. But it's not THAT bad really. Just like the 2 mana 10 armor spell, it just needs proper timing and some amount of skill.
Now let me ask you a question. How the hell do I guarantee this in my opening hand ???? Or am I just supposed to live with the fact that I can top deck a 4 mana give 1 armor? Because I can't
It could be okay in Wild if you use it with Dead Man's Hand, having a 4 mana gain 20 armor could be nice in ultra fatigue.
The problem is that you have to put essentially 4 dead cards into your deck AND you have to draw the scheme early enough for it to get to that size. Bring It On! is strictly better.

Greater Healing Potion was a 4 mana heal for 12, and even if u would mostly heal ur face, u could heal ur minions too.
Also, was a good topdeck when searching for survaibility.
Guess how good is a 4 mana heal for 1.
Another Huffer

Healing is useless when you are at max health.
And if you are a Control Warrior who is desperately top decking to survive, something has gone very, very wrong.
Also, Warrior never had reliable access to Greater Healing Potion, so that's kind of irrelevant.

Yo waddup fam
If this started at 5 I could see it work but even then. I would probably want to use Shield Block to gain that additional draw...
So can we all agree that this definitely originally summoned Boom Bots or dealt random damage or something until really late in development?

5 turns to get it to Iron Hide.
Its not worth the slot, regardless of the chance of infinite armor value.
At this point anyone can deisgn better warriir cards than Team5, it is hard to top this absolute failure of card design.
This card looks extremely bad. Even worse than Purify which at least had some synergy with something.
Is it confirmed that the armor increase is 1 per turn?
The worst card ever printed.
But it cost 4...
Dr. Boom shielding himself and waiting for the fireworks...pretty sure that's not how it's gonna work in the actual game.

WTF are they doing over there? This is the kind of card you make at 5am the morning of the stream.
Less thought went into this card than I put into this comment.
