This is one of those must craft legendary cards for Priest. Priest is typically the control or combo class and knowing what your opponent has gives you an advantage. Then you get a copy of whatever card will help you win.
Thing is, this is actually better in the longer games. Or even against OTK decks. You can find out if they drew their combo cards yet and play around that.
The minion stats are slightly sub par for a 3 drop, but that's not really why you play this. Also, you can Seance this for another copy too. Bounce it for another try. And in Wild you can play Brann and this on turn 6 for some good card advantage without playing dragons.
This will see play in almost every Priest deck that isnt doing the OTK bit, as those decks tend to have no flexible card slots.
i think it's more fair to compare this to curious glimmerroot than chameleos, since you get a body and card advantage. that card saw a lot of play in its time.

In a lot of cases, this is just "Discover the rest of your opponent's hand" if you've been paying attention. And knowing what your opponent has is incredibly useful. The 3/2 body is just icing on the cake. Where Chameleos only shows you one card at a time, this hits you with most or all of your opponent's hand.
Will absolutely see play in some deck.

Life before death. Strength before weakness. Journey before destination.
I like it. The effect isn't flashy or anything like that but the effect is powerful nonetheless. It seems like a better Chameleos that gives you information that also gives you a card. I voted as "Meta Defining". Information about your enemy's hand is always useful.
Oh yeah, one more thing, it has been confirmed if you discover a upgraded card (scheme, handbuff, ext) that the card will be the upgraded version of the card. Ok, going to be a little funny to steal a upgraded scheme for your own advantage.
I think people might be overrating this. Just like chamaleos. It is a net tempo loss for information gain. I guess. But a 3/2 body on the board will get you nowhere and most of the time the card will not fit you game plan.
While you certainly can use the information to play around cards, you would in most cases still have 1 or 2 cards open. So can't stop playing around other cards. Therrfore the information is not nearly as valueable.
Might make the cut, if it has more support or princess gets to strong, but all I see here is unwarranted chameleos hype.
Agreed. Just had a look at the poll on chameleos and see that it ended up virtually the same as the lazul one currently is, yet the card is now trash tier. Dont get me wrong, i think the effect is awesome and i really hope theres a viable thief priest deck, but i think it needs more support before thats gonna happen.
That’s because Priest became primary a OTK class, and this kind of effect doesn’t really go along with the otk plan, or is good in keeping Priests alive.
If it stays in that archetype to win games there is certainly no room for her. But maybe there will be some kind of midrange Priest?
I guess after a while people will anyways know what is in their opponents deck... Wich brings us back to the battlecry. Was Drakonid Operative played because of the battlecry, or because he was a Dragon with the best possible stats?
Some people are calling this card bad, because they compare it to Chameleos. But do they know why exactlyChameleos lacked playability back in WW? It was because:
- it was a bad top-deck (1/1 against aggro decks), - the outcome was random (meaning it could turn into an expensive and unplayable card at the wrong time, it could turn into the same card for several turns and giving you false information), - knowing the contents of your opponent's hand didn't mean countering them (I see a Pyroblast in the mage's hand, but I don't have any healing tools for myself and I can't do anything about it). - priest had just lost a lot of board clears and it couldn't afford to run this card.
Those were my main arguments in the Chameleos's reveal thread more or less (if someone is in the mood for some reading, he can go through all of my posts). In other words, I was one of the people, who downrated it when most of the players were hyped about it.
Madame Lazul is different than him. She acts more like Drakonid Operative - she can give you an instant information of 3 different cards in your opponent's hand and if you happen to discover something good, you can acquire a copy of it before the opponent manages to play it. Unlike Chameleos Madame Lazul has an ok-ish body for her effect and you can always play her, whenever you think it's the right time. She won't turn into an unplayable, expensive minion or spell for a turn and you don't have to wait until she transforms into something else.
The only thing, which would make her unplayable, would be the fact, that if priests don't get another board wipe, they may not afford to run this value-granting card in their deck. Since I'm a big fan of Steal Priest (I play it in wild), I will craft this legendary regardless if she feels underwhelming in the upcoming expansion.
I feel bad for all the players who think this card is weak
I feel bad for the players who think their opinion is better than everyone else's.
Me too. Also, I don't think my opinion is better, but I do think I'm right and I'm stating it. I think this is an excellent card and players who underestimate it will very likely get ground into paste by control priest.
No perceived self-superiority here.

Rage quitting: the best way to ensure your opponent knows they beat a giant baby.
Obviously a good card, but it probably won't see play in combo priest. It doesn't do much in terms of staying alive and controlling the board, and the deck list is so tight in combo priest...But with Mind Blast gone, who knows what will the main archetypes be?
It's a 2 mana body that gives you a card and information on 3 cards in your opponents hand. It's not overrated just damn good. It'll be in almost every priest deck because it's strong and flexible and really good value.
Dear Universe. I hope this will be a awesome expansion. I wanna see 2 things:
1. More "crazy" or uneven stats. Maybe 4 mana for a 8/2 with "can't be targeted by spells or hero powers"? Lich King could had been like 7/12 instead of the classic 8/8, 5/5,6/6 etc etc.
Boring, but good nonetheless
Why u hav to be mad? is only card gaem.

Obviously I meant Hero Portrait, not Hero Card.
Custom cards :
CLASSES : Alchemist (CCC#5 | Phase V) | Chef (CCC#4)
EXPANSIONS : Year of the Scorpion (Year Comp)
I like it. The effect isn't flashy or anything like that but the effect is powerful nonetheless.

Medivh has a hero portrait and minion.
Yeah, I got that. But it's still very weird having 3 different versions of a character and then one of them (hero card) playing the other two.
I feel bad for all the players who think this card is weak

Really solid, an actual 3-drop for Priest, has synergy with Chameleos, Talanji and probably something else I'm forgetting right now.
Basically a balanced Drakonid Operative.
I tried having fun once. It was awful.
And here's that "scribe" mechanic y'all were so obsessed about when the very first teaser came out.

hope that this is awesome card encorage big priests players to start playing fair priest decks.
