It is far from vital, and not part of a "meta" deck, but it's worth mentioning that it can be used for an OTK combo that doesn't even need Emperor Thaurissan. Not even the best combo deck for Priest, but if you want to try something like this one day, keep it.
While Auchenai Phantasm looks like a better version, spells can get discounted by Radiant Elemental, allowing for potentially more crazy combos in one turn. For that reason, I also think it's more likely for Embrace the Shadow to have some more potential in the future.
Regardless, these kind of decks are hard to utilize, usually are not consistent, and likely won't end up as dominant strategies.
Hey. I've had 2 golden embrace the shadow sitting in my collection for years. Amazing art and animation but that's about it.
You can build pretty nice off meta decks with that card, sadly, blizzard never really pushed this "healing to damage" archetype, I've seen all the competitive priest decks throughout the years and this card didn't appear once. Now they added a 3/2 minion with the same effect for consistency, but still no healing spell to synergize since TGT !!
Feel free to dust the card.
