The fact that this is a combo card is what has me most worried. If it were a battle cry, I think I'd straight up call it a good (or at least playable) card.
If I'm combo-ing something for 3 mana, Raiding Party or SI:7 make a lot more sense right now.
Good value though. And I wouldn't be shocked if this ends up being a good card eventually. Consider that cards like Shaku and Xaril saw legitimate competitive play, despite looking terrible at first glance.
I think this is very good. Rogue is losing a lot of good cards but this works well as a value generator. The lackeys have strong battlecries as well and Spirit of the Shark will remain in standard so they may be trying to push for a slower rogue value oriented archetype with this. I'll give it a try for sure.
Ethernal and Cobold are usefull but this card is just a filler. I would never play this in arena unless 2 other choces are better. Cost is too stepe and if rogue dont get some minion cost reduction its just a dust. I would never run this in a thief deck as long as Halucination , Blink fox , Lotus agent and SI7 agent exist.
If u wanna compare Ethernal is just halucination 1/5 chance. 4(5) cost for 1/1 and 1/5 and a one more 1/1 and potencialy usefull spell. So why not just run chillwind yeti and haluciation instead. Wichy is ... eh bad, Requires a setup and Rogue doesent want usualy to have big stuff in his deck. 1/5 chance to get 1/1 and to play rng game. In that case i will ask shaman for some Evolution play. Faceless is ok. Least bad that get u 2/2 on average. So paying 4(5) for 1/1 1/5 and 2/2 plus one more card. Eh could be worse. Goblin is ... is it sure is. Run deckhand that dude with a charge when u have weapon and cold blod if u want dmg. Cobold is ok. Shame its tied to such a bad card. I would still go for Si7 agent.
Final verdict. MAYBE in agro and some unlucky arena. I am sad that this is the card i am gonna see the most when opening a pack. And i am suprised that this is not an epic.
The Lackeys themselves are awesome and I love the flavor of them. The Rogue minion itself is just bad. There will probably be more minions that will spawn lackeys (which I hope that a neutral minion could spawn one of these). Don't forget that Rogue does have Spirit of the Shark so those lackeys could do some good.
Are the lackeys collectible or generated only? They actually seem quite good.
They have no gem and as collectible they would be absurdly powerful... 1/1 + random 2 drop on turn one is beyond insanity and would be easily be the strongest 1 drop ever.
For some players who don't see the power of the card...
The most basic combo activation scenario: You are on turn 3 with a coin. You play coin, this + 1 one of lackeys.
So for 4 mana you get something from the list:
a) 1/5+1/1+discover a spell+ lackey (2/6 + 2 cards) b) 1/5+1/1+random two drop + lackey (4\8 worth + card) c) random 4 drop + 1/1 + lackey (bad scenario, you usually get better lackeys. Still not bad stats + lackey) d) 1/5+1/1+2 damage to whatever target + lackey (2/6 4 mana Si agent) e) 2/5 rush + 1/1 + lackey (perfectly playable to remove some token when there are no better options)

That isn't exactly a bad tempo.
At the very worst, you're back loading tempo, which is something we all know that works.
There's a world where this card is perfectly acceptable. That world just might not be the one that exists while Hooktusk is a Rogue card.
If minions would be class tokens (evolving one - shaman's card, ethereal - mage's card, etc) it would be so much cooler. Common, Blizzard, why not? I am disappointed... Give thief rogues more love...

People who call that garbage... LOL
This card looks very good. It is 3 mana "draw" two efficient high tempo cards + a 1/5 body. Compare that to a playable arena card Ravencaller, which is 3 mana 2/1 + draw "two" random 1 drops.
How about i just hit u with my hench clan in the face while u stack useless shit in your hand. U could be dead by turn 6. From Hunter or Warlock. Also its not 3 mana.
outside of the underwhelming stats and the activation condition this is crazy good value..
All of the lackeys shown (minus Goblin maybe) are great value. If you get Witchy LAckey you can just upgrade your Miscreant into something better.
Not even mentioning it generates neat combo fodder and the fact that more LAckeys will be added over the course of the year, meaning the overall value of this card will increase (or decrease if future lackeys suck).
If there's a Spirit of the Shark deck this will be the driving force behind it.

Oh, one of that classic - you'll be dead to aggro because you played one slow card with a delayed tempo...
OK. I'll tell what I'll do with your hench clan. Rogue vs rogue
Turn 1a You play a 1 drop Turn 1b I play a 1 drop Turn 2a You dagger up and kill my 1 drop Turn 2b I coin 1/5 Turn 3a you drop your hench and go face with the dagger Turn 3b I play 1\1 mana deal 2 damage to kill your 1 drop and evis your 4\4 hench Turn 4a - You are behind both in tempo and value and think hard how to get back into the game.
This card itself might not be the champ, but Lackeys are disgusting. Perhaps even disgusting enough that an Am'gam Rager sees play. Huge variance, and a power-level like Spare Parts on steroids, and all of them Battelcries which Rogue can make good use of. If those were regular 1-drops, I'd get really mad. And it was said that we will see more Lackeys getting added with future expansions, so the variance goes even higher.
The perfect ingredients to make you rage-quit the game on a bad day.

1/5 is terrible, and not every lackey is that great... bit of an RNG fuckfest.
Combo requirement makes it even worse.

Lackeys are going to be SO good in arena.

This sums up my feelings.
I wont touch this card whith a ten foot pole.
I bet I'd get Doomsayerevery time

I tried having fun once. It was awful.

I think this card will be really strong in Arena.
Decent card, great design, strong arena pick. 5/5
