This card is incredibly overhyped. I really think this card sucks hard. 10 mana is a lot. I doesn't do much. Spells are reactive by nature. You can't build a strategy based on the effect because if it dies your strategy fails. You wanna throw a Pyro face when you have lethal so the 4/12 is basically irrelevant.
Needs a specific synergy to see play. Right now it's very crapy.
Tortollan primalist is better than this card LUL.
This card is not crap, but it's not meta defining. I think it is very well designed, it won't break the game in any way. But it is a strong card that needs to be removed by the oponent quickly, so it doesnt get out of hand. Also this is not meta defining, as i don't think you will build your deck arround this card. I am pretty happy about this card, it s cool :P
That's it. This card is fair and balanced. But fair cards doesn't see play. You wanna play as many broken cards as you can in your deck. If you don't found 30 broken cards with good synergies you fill the rest of your deck with crapy cards that doesn't go too bad with your broken cards
It's a good card, but the 4 attack isn't going to push a lot of face damage.
A pyroblast on the other hand, would.
That's the intention. Just like Ysera this card serves as a 4/12 soft Taunter who forces the opponent to waste resources on it because it's passive makes the gamestate more difficult for them.
If the "zero cost spell" was a passive effect, rather than a battlecry, it would still be solid. But the fact you get the effect on the turn you play it is bonkers.
Plus the discovery.
Plus the 4/12 stats make it hard to remove, but your opponent MUST remove it immediately.

The zero cost part of it IS passive not part of the battle cry. Every turn it’s alive the first spell you cast is 0 cost.
The Battlecry is only the discover part
Definitely a threat requiring immediate removal for sure. I voted very strong. Hopefully mage gets more control tools to support it as it’s very slow at 10 mana
This is meh at best. Unless there's going to be a way to reduce the cost of this minion, Y'sera has this guy beat
A very good statted minion with a powerfull passive and an immediate effect that synergizes with this passive, and it forces opponent to use resources to kill it, and it can be used both offensively and defensively? You, sir, are very hard to impress. Oh, and its Ysera not Y'sera.

Ysera is a more expensive Lich King without taunt. The only thing going for her is her 12 health. Kalecgos actually does something the turn you play it; Lich King and Ysera are only problems if you don't remove it right away. Kalecgos has immediate impact and is a problem if you don't remove it right away.

Life before death. Strength before weakness. Journey before destination.
After the first two weeks it won't see play. Except *maybe* if there's a way to cheat it out.
When was the last time any 10-cost card saw regular play?
Gul'dan?
Ultimate Infestation?
Guldan and UI are so much stronger than this card. Guldan fills your board with OP minions and give you a broken hero power. Ui Increases your hand size by 4 while gaining armor dealing dmg and giving you a 5/5.
This card doesn't even increase your hand size. You just get a free spell and a 4/12. Not strong enough for a 10 drop.
N'zoth is obviously better than this card.
Yshaarj is kinda similar in term of power. But with better stats and better effect. He is only played in specific decks.
Why does everyone seem to think that this card must be immediately removed? Playing this card means you're a control mage. Control mages dont have much to do with their mana. Control mages play board clear spells. Are you gonna be playing board clear spells every turn and does it matter if you're playing them for free or not?
Assuming you get to play flamestrike for free the next turn, what are you gonna do with the rest of your mana? As an aggro player, I will just keep going face ignoring it like I would ignore Ysera. As a control player, I wouldn't be caring if you are playing spells for free or not. Control match ups are battles of attrition anyway so you should be conserving your tools. So why is Kalecgos a soft taunt compared to Ysera? Ysera is even more of a must remove to opposing control players compared to Kalecgos because she gives you guaranteed value each turn. Maybe playing one spell for free each turn is not guaranteed value, in fact it's the opposite of that as you are using up your own resources.

We have no idea what we are getting for Mage, might be pretty nuts with whatever the twin spell does. Make as much sense to praise as it does to bash it. It potentially could be a good legendary.

Regardless.. Even if this card doesn't find a deck.. It's a good legendary.. People define the cards based on knowledge they have at the current moment.. Fundamentally it's good..
Personally cards the generate random resources are obnoxious anyways (Ysera, Lich King)... at least with discover there is a level of skill involved
This card is the good kind of good and would like them to continue in this direction

You're right. We should wait to see if Mage will get any good twin spells. If Mages get something on the level of UI or Call of the wild or even Boomship, I will change my mind.

That's good that you're mind can be changed. Tell everyone to wait. That will stop the people from automatically saying that getting a Laughing Sister every turn is better than you casting a 0 mana spell... some of which we havent seen yet.
Everyone seems to like this card, but it's very slow and not a real wincon despite costing 10 mana. Will only be good in a slow, control meta and if mage gets more big spells.

A card doesn't need to be a win condition to see play. This is a very strong "must be removed immediately" minion, which you can never count out. Cards that have to be dealt with immediately are always going to be relevant.

4/12 is much better than 8/8 because is harder to remove and this is the type of minion opponent need to remove fast or face severe consequences.

It can be good only if the meta is extremely slow.
Release the Kraken!
Gul'dan?
Ultimate Infestation?
It's a better version of inkmaster solia without the one of a kind requirement

Easy meta defining for me. Yeah, it might be slow, but games will be warped around this card.
