i think it depends on how large your dust and gold reserves already are and how much you need new cards / value golden cards. personally I'd go for the 1200 dust since that gets you a couple extra cards from the new expansion since I definitely wont be opening enough to get a good portion of the cards.
I am kinda a collector (well, I dont have all cards, I dont craft all cards, but for example I keep crappy legendaries, I dont dust goldens, etc), and I have the same problem. But I think ill just take the 1600 dust, a golden one would be sweet, but playing it together with nongolden cards.. meh.. :P
Would you like us to tell you if you should eat potatoes rather than tomato tonight ? Come on what kind of question is that, do what you want with your money, grow up a bit, make your own choices, your own decisions, and assume them. Stop relying on other people thoughts...
I'm making all hof cards in golden (except that shitty epics lol) coz of 1st hof. I didn't make golden rag and sylvanas then, and now I regret it every day. I won't make that mistake again. If u consider it, and won't make it golden on 90% you will regret it in future.
Yes, you lose 1200 dust if you craft golden Baku and keep him after HOF.
But you can disenchant golden Baku for 1600 dust (instead of regular Baku) after the HOF 3200 dust refund. So you can recover that 1200 dust loss if you had no intention of keeping golden Baku.
Essentially, you would be "borrowing" golden Baku for a month.
Golden Baku ofc. You might want to play Wild someday and having this shiny Baku to suplement your golden hero portrait should be cool nonetheless.

I've crafted Golden Genn & Baku but am not dusting the regular copy because I have a feeling that it will be nerfed one day when it proves a problem in Wild.
I've been playing since Season Two so I can afford to take positions like these without compromising my ability to build other decks.

I don't see any reasonable way to nerf those cards tbf, even if they were 1 mana 1/1 you'd still play them for the effect and you can't change the effect in any way without destroying the card identity so my guess is that they will never be touched again
So I got the regular Baku, and the math is:
- If I left it alone, I got 1600 dust and keep a regular Baku
- If I craft a golden Baku, then I dust the regular, I got 400 dust and keep a shiny golden Baku
I'm pondering between 2 choices, I'm leaning toward a shiny golden Baku for collection.
So what would you do? 1200 dust more or a more Shiny beautiful Baku?
Im in the same position, i think will keep golden card to match golden heroes portraits
I will dust the golden, dust the regular, and craft him in wood.

That's Incredible!

And the dust for the golden one

If you have the dust it is nothing wrong with crafting him golden and keep the regular one.
If you regret it, you can always DE the golden one without having lost nor gained anything.
Think of it as borrowing a Golden legendary for a while with 3200 dust as a deposit.
But remember, if you craft golden cards you do not own already any version of you can DE them for actual profit...

I did the same with Genn, dusted the normal one and crafted him normal. If you are a collector and like golden cards, I would say go for it

Just took my incoming refund and crafted 2golden Academic Espionage
So guess who's happy now

If you have big reserve of dust, craft all HoF candidates in golden. You don't lose anything and get some extra bling.
Playing Hearthstone in German solely for Garrosh sounds. Sieg oder Tod!

what's there to think about? if you have a normal baku and you kinda like goldens then craft golden and DE normal one
400 dust profit

I will keep all golden cards because im wild only player.
If the difference between Baku and golden Baku is worth 1200 dust to you, then yeah do it
I dusted all my extra golden cards a while ago, don't really care for em, so will be just looking to maximise dust from it.
It's entirely personal preference tho dude, so do u
I personally dont like having golden legendaries because even if it is good, I feel very tempted to DE it.
also baku the mooneater seems like a bad legendary to have golden becausemost games you dont play him.
Rejoice, for even in death, you have become children of Thanos.
