Have to agree with my colleagues here. The only use I can think of, is when Asmodeus tried to make it work in its video series called " Crappy Card Challenge" (crappy card is what the new Avianna unfortunately is):
But again, its one of those filler legendaries. Im quite confident that it won't see play under no circumstances. So many cards are just a better inclusion.
That was a pretty entertaining watch. I had no idea that series existed. Thanks for posting it.
If they print a card like this Duskfalle Aviana becomes OP.
it becomes a 2 card, 8 mana combo that will still give your opponent tons of tempo. People don't even want to play spirits because they're such bad tempo.

It's hard to imagine why they designed such a fucking shitty card. At least Millhouse has excellent stats.
They designed it specifically for meme-playing casuals (like me!). Lots of cards are aimed squarely at casual play with no hope for competitive decks. Why? Because a section of the player-base wants those sorts of cards.
You also have to keep in mind druid was way overpowered in KotFT and it would have been in bad taste to give the class strong cards in the first set the devs were still working on (K&C would have been finalised already). Indeed I do not recall people being cross at how bad she is when she was revealed; they were saying "thank goodness its not another OP druid card".
Man, when a card is so terrible, sometimes the only thing you can do to try it is make a meme deck with 35 legendaries (one has to be Malchezaar) and play ve the innkeeper. The smallest is your collection the better (for memes), because you'll have to put very bad legendaries or subpar ones just to make it to 35 legendaries, so you'll get wrecked even by the innkeeper. And you'll find the joy in winning with that crappy deck (eventually it will happen) .
Actually i tried a 35 legendary deck priest, Paladin, mage and warlock, but never with Druid, I might now
You play BOTH Duskfallen Aviana and Harbinger Celestia on the same turn! Think about it, if your opponent then tries to play a huge minion for free, Celestia becomes a copy of it. If your opponent chooses to play a crap minion, they waste their free mana minion!
Also, your opponent may simply cease to function and not play anything after having their mind shattered by seeing both Duskfallen Aviana and Harbinger Celestia played on the same turn. It just won't compute.
/sarcasm
Great, now i can finally play the 2 legendaries blizzard gave me for that expansion :D Thanks for the idea
What's the point of duskfallen when we have dreampetal florist that's does something for certain at least once and doesnt do anything for opponent.
That IS a very good question. Maybe the design team will answer it for us in the next couple of expansions. I am predicting that Druid will be very good again soon. I really think that after the major nerfs to Druid, they actually do have a clear direction for Druid that will begin to unravel. I also don’t think that they are going to let Druid wallow in misery for very long. That won’t be good for us players, the game or Blizzard. Gonk decks are going to get an upgrade soon, too. I feel it my bones. We’ll all be Gonkin’ it up in a couple of months.

"Hard to imagine"? Yeah, sure bro...
As mentioned before it's just a pack filler legendary that's screws with your pity timer. This results in forcing you to buy more packs.
So to put it in other words, for bli$$ard this might be one if not the best designed card of the set.

Is Millhouse Manastorm good yet? I think you have your answer.
Nature is the Day.
Man is the Sun.
Woman is the Moon.
The Stone is the Sky.
The Art is the Way.
Here is the best, and only way, Duskfallen Aviana is useful to you in game:
Your opponent starts using Unstable Evolution on their minions and on the last mana turns a 4-drop into Duskfallen Aviana. This then allows you to play a card to clear the board (Twisting Nether, maybe. Or Dragon's Fury into Flamestrike perhaps) before starting your actual turn.
Malygos
Fair point - assuming you live that long. 2 cards, 8 mana, do nothing is still pretty awful.
Dont you see the synergy of those two cards lol.

Carnivorous Cube the shit out of Duskfallen Aviana.
Now your opponent has to destroy it to get its effect.
It can also turn Ticking Abomination into a combo piece. Trade it and get it.

What about Alarm-o-Bot? If it pulls out Duskfallen Aviana, you won't have played a minion yet and should benefit from the effect.
But will it stick to the board?
