In my opinion Mecha`Thun is to much meta difining. People are not playing, there waiting for the combo to come first and in some cases, come earlyer than your opponent. Is this where Hearthstone is comming to, distroying your deck and playing out the Mecha Combo ?? BLEHHH
Mecha is dead after rotation. Most of the core cards that make it viable will be rotated out :) It is legit when of the BEST rotations due to how utterly lame this meta is
Combo is important to make sure Control doesn't get out of control. I think Mecha'Thun is more powerful than the devs expected, but it plays an important role

Warlock Mecha is dead. Druid in only losing 4 of its cards, which very well get replaced by the new x-pack, or other cards like Novice Engineer or the deathrattle draw.

Druid Mecha relies on three cards from the Classic Set: Wild Pyromancer, Acolyte of Pain, and Gadgetzan Auctioneer. All three of these cards are candidates for HOF. While I think WP, and AoP are safe for now, Gadget's days are numbered.
I take mechathun decks over normal combo decks anytime. Better to lose a fatique deck than mind blast priest killing you rng turn 9 or maly rogue killing you what rng turn 6?

Originally that was the task midrange decks had. But blizzard has changed up their rock-scissor-papers approach by filling in class and deck type gaps (mass armor for druid?!). I don't think that the combo gamble is the right approach to shift the meta (as blizzard has done it).
Mecha'thun isn't the problem in itsself, it's rather part of a philosophy that is faulty.
1stly i haven't played HS a lot lately but if played against the druid one about 7 times during RR standard if lost to it 3 times and 2 of those losses was with aggro decks the other 1 was a greedy shudder value deck. I won it 3 times with odd control warrior. How do you ask you try to kill them and force them to use their removal on your stuff then when they have a few card left i just ignore them and tank up pass use remover on my own stuff to empty my hand if i need to or random card's i don't need. get a owl in hand hand watch the Gadgetzan Auctioneer kill them. Sooner or later they would need to kill their own stuff when they are busy dying. you owl it and then kill it. Im honestly unsure how that match up go in general since 3 games is a small sample size but i do think its winnable with odd warrior and control warlock at least.
Mecha'thun is just another combo archetype. Each of them is different just for the finisher they use, but the gameplan is always the same: get card advantage and keep control of the board, draw until your win condition is up then win. I don't see much difference from Razakus Priest or any of the old Aviana+Kun decks.
Mecha'thun is not even near oppressive as the others were in their gold time, so I don't see any need to even nerf it.
I do appreciate threads like this. We could all use a good laugh. The irony of a control player bitching about 'people are not playing' is classic chutzpah. They wait for their combo, you wait for the other player to run out of steam - same shit different plies. Next.

Mecha isn't the most dominant deck ever but it is by far one of the most booring. I pretty much auto concede as soon as I go up against them. Only because the matchup is just a waste of time. Blizzard go on about interactive boards and yet they insist on making OTK cards like these. If you play ANY kind of control with non OTK finisher you auto loose.

Even if MechaTuhn will still be viable ( or even gets some support) after the rotation, the whole MechaTuhn OTK is actually something i am ok with.
Since it’s no , turn 8 coin gallery, whoop whoop , 40 dmg inc. BS . Or Mally Rouge that also kills you very fast out of nowhere .
They have specific stuff to play( or empty hand/deck) before they can OTK you. Plus they are quite fragile to something like Mojomaster Zihi.
Hakar and mojomaster counter mechathun. It will probably never be a problem because you only need 1 card to counter the entire deck.
You must play Control decks.

Currently playing Dragon Galakrond Priest, Dragon Galakrond Warrior and Highlander Dragon Hunter.
LOL, and what's the deal about that, my dear friend?
Nice biased poll.

For what profit is it to a man, if he gains the world and loses his own soul?

You can actually straight up counter C'thun. If it's really that bad run a counter.
