F*cking baku, would have been fine to bump it to 3mana but nooo then oddpaladin could use it so f all control Paladins and make it cost 4 while we still pretend baku and genn aren't the main offenders. Great job.
I would probably agree with nerf if it wasnt THE ONLY board clear for pally!! Seriously, the one and only reliable clear is nerfed...and its not like it was even op before...pally better get two good board clears next expansion
Shrink ray is now infinitely better. The problem being by turn 5 or 4 with coin you can reduce not just the health but also the attack. Equality at 4 when it not only reduces you own minions hp but crucially leaves the opponents minion with full attack is ludicrously underpowered.
Not sure about that .
I played a Midrange EggPaladin last season at around 200 on eu ( without Cubes or umbra, but therefore more anti combo/ aggro ) and I would still consider running one Equality ( I try a Hydrololgist instead of the other Equality, two Equality seem bad cause they are so useless early and midgame)over Shrink Ray . Just having this last bit of burst with Avenging Wrath( I run it as a one-off) or to go with a token through a bigger taunt and hit with the 8/8 Dinosaur, is just superior. In older metas I even considered cutting one Equality for a BlackKnight or something.

Yeah, I remember talking to a friend about " Enter the Colloseum "... and they wonder why ppl use Equality...
I think its a bit harsh considering slower paladin decks take a severe blow, and since shrink ray exists I think egg/mech paladins will not be running equality anymore. Moving forward paladin will certainly be much worse against aggro because the clear comes down later, so blizz will have to print some good early game for pally.
Brutal for even paladin but a good nerf. In it's original form, it basically gave you execute for the entire board, but at the same cost. Now it is in the realm of costing what AOE should cost.
I have to agree with this. Although I didn't think some of these nerfs were necessary like a lot of people have stated. I think the goal of these changes is to encourage players to find new tools to use instead of relying on the same old board clears or buffs since the games inception. I do not think they deliberately tried to target any of the odd/even decklists which is actually what needs the nerfs but these decks will be losing them anyways as a bi-product of being cards that were auto includes in almost every archetype for that class.
Well said and I have to agree with you. Long term they might as well replace the Basic cards with something else as the various classes have unbalanced core sets (compare e.g. Rogue to Priest or Shaman) anyway.

But doesn’t a relatively good core set helps Hearthstone being f2p friendly?
And Robinson is talking about encouraging players to find new tools, but Shrink Ray isn’t strictly a boardclear. Enter the Colloseum in wild is so bad , i doubt it will ever be a consideration . So, what tools???
Paladin needs Equality cause generally speaking ( besides Odd and Divine Favour), Paladin isn’t a class with good early game ,or other swingy cards. So my guess is we get a new board/aoe spell next expansion. Then we CAN have other tools dealing with the opponents board, but then the gap to every f2p guy who doesn’t have this card gets even bigger.

Paladin still has Equality. And Equality is still very strong at 4 mana.
Pyro Equality at 6 mana is fair for a 2 card combo, a full clear for 4 is way too swingy.
Equality has always been undercosted, and I like paladin. It's a crazy powerful effect if you think about it.
Yes it is crazy powerful, but also needed.
Paladin in his basic set has great Control tools, Divine Favour, and a bunch of shitty secrets. There is no powerful tempo card like prep, no earlygame minion like Flameimp, or tons of aoe like in Mage.
Equality was always needed because you always fell back on board ( unless u played some aggro version) . Ofc you can play shrink ray now , but that seems so meh, sometimes a 5 mana Aldor without the body , and sometimes a 5 mana Equality.
Btw Warriors 3 Mana Armor Flurry is also crazy powerful and it’s a good card without another card ( armor maybe).
I don't think I follow. Equality isn't a basic card, although I get that's not your point. Are you saying paladin resets the board on turn 4 like clockwork if the combo is available to gain tempo? It never plays true silver or blessing as the turn 4 play to gain tempo or to remove a threat? Or do you mean the real power play of consecration plus equality while you still have a board, which is busted for 6 mana, or playing it late in the game and having 6 mana left over to do quite a bit, which is busted?
And armour flurry absolutely requires armour, and it can be pretty iffy if you aren't playing odd warrior, or as a late game play. Not saying it is a bad card per se.
What is wrong with having some Class (defining) Basic and / or Classic cards in most decks? They are really killing the Basic and Classic sets like this and the flavor of a class with it...

Rouge could kill every single minion for 2 mana! Prep, Assainate.
Just because you have a cheap removal it doesn’t make it a good swing turn . People still play Vilespine slayer over assainate because it’s comboed good with anything, and is a 3/4 body.
Equality without activators is just bad, same goes for pyro. By making aoe more expensive you don’t make it less swingy , because that’s not what a Control deck is looking for , you just mostly lower it’s survivalbility. Because it’s either too late or you can’t put a taunt or something in the way.(That’s For Control decks ofc. OTK decks are fine with just clearing/stalling until they OTK you)

I really hope they undo this one change.
No, it doesn't strictly speaking do nothing. If you have minions on the board you can trade, if you so choose.

Feel the winaxe pain lolz
Still winaxe was worse for warrior than this nerf for paladin so do not whine

This is the only nerf I don't like. Paladin has no other board clears, what are they supposed to do now?
This is like raising Flame Strike to 8 mana. Stupid.
Now paladin can't full clear every board until turn 6 with piro or turn 8 consacrate. This buys additional time for aggro decks.
I will crush you!
Bold to assume a 75% majority on Hearthpwn knows what they are talking about.
Finally! Great nerf, equality + wild pyro or consacrate was ridiculous
Truly good nerf.

That's Incredible!
Stop having a cry, pyromancer + equality is still only six mana, still one of the cheapest and arguably the best clear.

Hardly any one ever complained about Equality.
Equality must be played together with cards like Wild Pyromancer or Consecration (unlike Shrink Ray). It does nothing by itself.
