6 mana 5/5 that gives 5 armor. its pretty ok for late game and among rares, i could see it being a top-ish pick in arena. its very similar to cards like Guardian of Kings and Ancient of Lore so in that regard, its pretty good and very fitting. in a way i was hoping it was a warrior card that gained an effect depending on how much armor you had but im still satisfied with this....though i'd of prefered to learn what the pirate card was -_-
I predict this card will see little to no play in constructed and arena. It's just not good for a 6 drop imo. Cmon why didn't ppl vote for the pirate :/
Can't imagine this making an impact to Constructed. Far better 6 drops for control warrior and doesn't really fit an aggro warrior. The only way it would possibly work is if a new midrange warrior evolved. That said, this will be awesome in arena.
It's a little meh, isnt'it? Would this replace shield block in control warrior? Dont think so. Do you need both in control deck? Dont think so either, unless you're building an anti-aggro warrior i guess. Maybe this could see play in warrior decks when they cant take all the aggro anymore. It's not an as slow play as a Cairne. Guess that armor would help as well against hunters. But then you're really taking more of a midrange route than a late game oriented deck, because this would have to take the slot of Cairne or something?

i think there will be another card in the set which will be dependent on the armor, otherwise it doest really make sense to have two cards that do pretty the same thing in the same class.
While it's nothing special, I still think it's a card to think about. 5/5 for 6 puts it in the same category asFrost Elemental however I'd say that this effect is arguably better value, as Frost Elemental does something that tends to be stated as worth less than 1 mana, while according to how Shield Block is costed, if we assume draw a card is worth 1 mana, gain 5 armor is worth about 2 mana.
If we see more cards like Shield Slam that do something based on how much armor you have in this set then I think Shieldmaiden will fit fine in those decks. Might have a place in control warrior, but most warriors would rather have Sylvanas, which does also fall under the 5/5 for 6 range, and Bloodhoof. I could see maybe a Bloodhoof being replaced with a Shieldmaiden if high aggro decks are popular and you are needing the extra health.
While this card is nothing special, sometimes cards with little to say about, like Dark Cultist, can be some of the strongest.

You thought there would be something inspirational here didn't you?
blizzard must be trolling us! they knew we would be voting for the cute gnome and disapppointed.
That's what you get for not voting the cool pirate: the worst of all the class exclusive 6 drops (except kidnapper).
I still don't know how people voted the gnome instead of the pirate...
My guess is that people expect goblins to be more RNG-oriented, wich is totally not true.

Bah. So does this mean this card got more votes than the Rogue pirate card? People please.

not all that impressive. I mean how do you fit it. I mean some one may find a value and create a cool concept but as I see it not really.

Seriously, its a pirate ppl! Guess the resident sleepers live up to their name even when the voting choices are in question

I wanted the Pirate...
Seems comparable to Guardian of Kings to me and that card sees some play, so I could see it in some control warrior decks.

Just HolyFire with body. Meh
Ditto.
I hope the ones who voted on the gnome are happy. -.-
*puts tinfoil hat* It seems the votings are rigged for the gnomes to always win.
You guys are underestimating the power level of this card!
its better than Guardian of Kings in every single level.
It would be used instead of cairne, black knight and even sylvanas in a heartbeat in this meta, no doubts about it too.
This is obivously the strongest 6-drop option in the entire game for an aggressive heavy meta.
