All deathknights are insanely powerful, but rexxar certainly is not the best. You're forgetting about Frost Lich Jaina and Bloodreaver Gul'dan arguably the two best cards in the game. But I suppose we can keep pretending that rexxar is the problem until he either gets executed by blizzard or rotated out.
Rexxar is incredibly powerful for 6 mana, he makes it possible for aggressive decks to generate unlimited value.
If an aggressive deck is trying to use Rexxar to win a game, they are doing it very, very wrong. If face hunter drops DK Rexxar, they are probably going to lose. That's not how aggro hunter wins.
Well, it's definitely not oppressive in Wild and I've never seen it oppressive in Standard. Strong? Yes. Fun? Most definitely. Feelsbadman to lose to? Meh, not really. Or at least not as much as Gul'Dan. Leave Rexxar be. The card and effect are the coolest in the game.
Oh, and Odd Hunters can't use Rexxar, so there! And yes, Odd Hunter is a thing (tier 2 if built correctly).
make hero power cost 4 mana would be a nice little nerf to slow the card a bit
Can you tell the court where the mean old hunter hurt you?
hunter dont hurt me much, it been unplayable for the last 2 year, itS hunter time to shine im ok with it. Rexxar is a card i would look into and adding 2 mana to its hero power would not kill the car at all just slow it a bit because i think it to dominant in any circumptance.
in really glad blizzard didn't nerf rexxar, people are already crying their minds out because of the "shudderwock" and "kingsbane" nerf and the loss of around "2000 dust". imagine if they did nerf deathstalker rexxar, this forum would be spammed with threads about that for about 2-3 weeks.
If Blizzard nerf DK Rexxar together with frostlich jaina , DK Guldan and the current nerfs altogether at once I think less people will complain since everyone got nerfed.
I mainly play Hunter. I'm a F2P player aside from the usual pre-purchase of the new expansion. This time I actually only bought the 20 dollar version cause I had so much dust + gold saved up. Anyway Rexxar is by far my favorite card in the game. It's amazing. I'll say this...
If Deathstalker Rexxar just gave 5 armor and dealt 2 damage to all enemies for 6 mana...it would probably still be in every single Hunter deck.
Rexxar, Jaina, and Guldan are all powerful cards... the biggest difference between the three is that Rexxar is just 6 mana. If it cost 7 or 8 mana, it would still be a solid card in many decks, but much less of an auto-include. I can't count the number of times I've faced a Rexxar who's managed to pull a hydra or bloatbat with poison that can instantly wipe multiple minions. Yeah, it's overpowered. It probably needs to be nerfed as much or more than some of the other cards that were recently nerfed, but I don't think they should nerf it any more than they should have nerfed everything else lately. Just let them all cycle out with the next expansion. Let Wild figure out new ways to deal with them.

Not even Wild can figure out new ways to beat them that is the problem! They are hated even in Wild. Unless Blizzard keep printing powerful cards in new expansions, they likely to continue to be powerful
The entire premise of this question is so far from reality it can't really generate productive discussion.
Rexxar isn't in the top 10 most powerful cards released (see below), much less #1, and starting a question from that assumption just doesn't work.
You have a card that generates infinite value over the long term. Fine. That's an answer to a small subset of control decks that are specifically designed to answer 100% of an opponent's threats. Some of them, anyway. Pre-nerf Kingsbane will eat your creatures all day long. Jaina will go toe to toe when backed by its board clears and polys. Despite the rhetoric used here, the reality is that Rexxar can skew win rates in the control matchup a bit, but it is by no means an auto win against ANY deck (yes, including odd warrior).
The other aspect which is never considered is a simple question: What else does hunter do against control? You can try the ultra-aggro approach, but what's the win rate going to be against the hard control decks without the deathknight? I would imagine intolerably low.
I'm sorry Rexxar feels bad to play against when you're going for fatigue strats or whatever ultra control situations you're playing. The numbers do not suggest that this warranted being nerfed for power balancing. If you want a quality of life nerf, as with the recent Saronite Chain Gang change (a nerf that can't possibly be justified by anything but player feelings towards the Wock matchup), that's fine, but don't sit here and act as if it's a balance necessity.
Just for the record, off the top of my head, here are ten cards in no particular order that are on a clearly higher power level than DK Rexxar:
Undertaker, Tunnel Trogg, Totem Golem, (original) Warsong Commander, Grim Patron, (original) Corridor Creeper, Coldlight Oracle, Duskbreaker, Conceal . . . and arguably the creme de la creme (original) WILD GROWTH.
I thought of another ten aggro cards, but I tried to pick a wide variety to illustrate the point (I also stayed away from Beta nerfs).
Just because Rexxar is a late game power house doesn't mean it comes anywhere near these cards.
Helpful Clarification on Forbidden Topics for Hearthstone Forums:
Enjoying Americans winning in the Olympics is forbidden because it is political. A 14 plus page discussion of state-sponsored lawsuits against a multi-national corporation based on harassment, discrimination, and wrongful death allegations is apparently not political enough to raise an issue.
The only deck that actually gains a huge advantage with rexxar is deathrattle hunter and that is because of cube synergies
In general, rexxar is most useful against agro decks because it acts as a board clear and gives the hunter the ability to sustain pressure indefidently. Against control, rexxar alone is not enough to win
Annoying yes, infinite value yes, bad design - yes, as with all the DK's etc etc but not gamebreaking and has its drawbacks. Even Odd warrior has a chance despite what people say, and I'm not even talking about board-centric decks. Rexxar can't play from behind unless he godrolls on the first 1-2 turns in DK mode.

Wrong, Cry babies never grow up. They also never improve at the game.

First statement is correct. Second one so very wrong.
He's TOO RNG to be considered OP. You either get beasts that are awkward to play, or you can pull something wildly over powered. It's frusturating to take control of a match and then get killed by a 9/9 Hydra/Boar with charge (6 mana!!!) but that happens SO rarely that card should never be considered for a nerf. It's RNG at it's most hardcore, but it's value is consistent, plus Hunter has terrible draw abilities.
It's being retired to wild. it shouldn't be changed, it's fun, and I rarely have run into many problems where the other opposing player hits the RNG jack pot enough times in a row to compensate for any misplays they've made.

Developed Hearthstone player, have played and beaten highly skilled opponents on numerous occasions. Not that ambitious on ladder. Only play off of win streaks. Love theory more than meta.
I don't care about DK Rexxxar. What I do care about is hunter power turns, be it cubing a dangerous creature, or recruiting something which charges or breaks the charge rules, or even a spellstone followed by a To my side! (Although this bothers me less). The DK is powerful, but often very slow. The abuse of deathrattle and recruit is often what crushes me when I play against hunter, as they simply generate too much heat from nothing which makes mid-range a frustrating prospect against hunter (thank the stars for even paladin, otherwise I would have torn my hair out). I will be so glad to see the back of cubes, cheap DR activators, kathrena, and devilsaurs. Not calling for a nerf BTW, just want to be clear.

Katrina is wonderful. She turned King Krush from being totally unplayable to the most played Classic Class legendary in the game.
The rumor is that the two of them are getting married.
FWIW - if you look at the data on HSReplays, Deathstalker Rexxar is the weakest DK, by a far margin. His "win-rate when played" is -12%. The next-weakest DK is Scourgelord Garrosh, at -3%. By point of comparison, the played win-rate for Bloodreaver Gul'dan is +12%.
Rexxar is a late-game value card, and he doesn't belong in any Hunter list which isn't designed to exploit the value he produces. In other words, he has a place in Cube Hunter, and Recruit Hunter, but not in any other viable Hunter list. The two worst-performing cards in Secret Hunter, for example, are the two Hero cards - by the data, they are the only "losing" cards in the deck, because Secret Hunter is simply too fast to leverage the value provided by Rexxar, and the deck has no on-curve plays after turn-5, which is a huge distance the deck needs to carry in order to play Zul'jin. In Cube Hunter, Rexxar's "win-rate when played" is even, about 12% better than every other Hunter deck - the deck is designed to go long and has plenty of late-game support, so that the Zombeasts supplement the overall game-plan of the deck. In fast Hunter builds, Rexxar doesn't have any late-game support. Fast decks benefit from pushing the button every turn, and leveraging that face damage to force a mid-game win. The cost of a Zombeast in a fast deck is 6-mana, plus 2-mana for the hero power activation, plus the cost of the Zombeast, plus the loss of persistent damage from simply pressing the button. Not really a good investment for a deck which typically has to win by turn 8.
In short - nerfing Rexxar wouldn't accomplish much, since he's the weakest card in most Hunter decks. Indeed, that also includes the slower builds - his played win-rate is merely even in Cube Hunter, and he's the fourth-weakest card in the most-popular build currently featured on HSReplays.

Easy way to nerf the card would be.
Discover a Beast
Adapt said beast.
That way you have less chance of gaining 2-3 strong abilities on the one beast.
