One of the coolest cards yet the most annoying to play against and probably one of the strongest cards ever released. Having no downside to have it in any deck. Make your every gameplan elastic like a rubber.
Find a spot in every hunter deck. Doesn't matter aggro, midrange, combo whatever.
How come an aggro deck can all of sudden switch to hyper-control deck and have access to unlimited value? How can You defend this card. It wasn't even intended to include beasts past frozen throne. And the cost - 6 mana? Are you kidding me?
Wild growth and nourish got nerfed pretty hard being core cards of most druid decks. And yet rexxar remains unchanged despite the fact there are the same reasons for this card getting hit by nerf hammer as with other cards were that got nerfed.
Am I the only one thinking this card is way above power level of other cards? And there are basically no weaknesses to having this card (whichj is why it is in every deck).
How do you nerf this card. A mana increase does almost nothing as the hero power is the main source of power. I just dont see how to nerf this card leading to there being no viable way to nerf it
When I didn't play much ladder I was wondering why people call this card broken cause I was just thinkin "yeah you get like an 8 mana beast wow but too slow"
But after like a month or so I started laddering since a long time and holy fuck this card. They literally draft the perfect beast every time when they need it.
Lifesteal? Lifesteal
Poisonous? Poisonous
I think the card should have been 7 mana to begin with but yeah main problem is the hero power and you cant change it in any other way but change it to the way it used to be as no future beasts.
I think there are 0 other cards in the game that can turn a 100% aggro deck into a control deck with and that has 0 synergy with the rest of the deck
in really glad blizzard didn't nerf rexxar, people are already crying their minds out because of the "shudderwock" and "kingsbane" nerf and the loss of around "2000 dust". imagine if they did nerf deathstalker rexxar, this forum would be spammed with threads about that for about 2-3 weeks.
Because if you think Blizz balances around Wild I have a bridge to sell you. They've historically not shown much interest in that to back that claim up. Plus they touched 3 decks and 1 class archetype which have been strong or limiting in Standard for the last 1~2 years? That's why.
All deathknights are insanely powerful, but rexxar certainly is not the best. You're forgetting about Frost Lich Jaina and Bloodreaver Gul'dan arguably the two best cards in the game. But I suppose we can keep pretending that rexxar is the problem until he either gets executed by blizzard or rotated out.
People are just upset because he's the most common, but far from the best.

Rexxar is incredibly powerful for 6 mana, he makes it possible for aggressive decks to generate unlimited value.
Why does everyone want cards to be nerfed ? I would love to see cards being buffed - i know the reason for bad cards exist because of the new player expirience but i mean really why the f*** does silverback patriarch be that bad. I mean what in the hell. Its so sad having 40-50% cards of the classic/basic set to exist but they never ever exist outside of the fist few hours you play and then they are gone, like for ever
Rexxar was only middling power level at KFT's release. It's been the inclusion of more beasts with powerful keywords in subsequent expansions that pushed him up.
I think the whole idea of heroes is the biggest reason KFT was an expansion with such an unfair power level. They should have given the DKs more downsides like "destroy half your mana". This way, playing the dk is a power play but to use fairly and not an auto include.

Maybe so, but as I just said, his unlimited value cannot stand up to the sheer power of other deathknights, aka he isn’t the problem.
Totally called it! I KNEW it would take no time at all before people were whining about hunter after the nerfs.
Congratulations everyone on being so upset about the other strong decks! Now Hunter has no strong opposition anymore ...
Your analysis assumes that the now-defunct decks won't be replaced by something else. History shows that people will build something else, something that likely stands up to hunter. It's called a meta.

My guess is because they think the power of it is fine for wild which is where he goes in a couple months.

Because he is a Dreamboat.

Why don't people get that this nerf focused on wild and not on standard?

Cause it is rotating out soon.
Dead but dreaming
Can only choose beasts with mana costs up to 3. NERFED

Same reason they never hit Jaina or Gul'Dan - because they want the DKs to be powerful cards that do powerful things.
I don't really recall everyone shitting themselves over this card until recently - used to be always Warlock DK, Priest DK, blah blah.
Rexxar is incredibly powerful for 6 mana, he makes it possible for aggressive decks to generate unlimited value.
Blizzard screwed up big time with the death knights. If they nerfed Rexxar they’d have to nerf Guldan and Jaina as well.
All these “win condition in one card” cards are ridiculous.
