Hey just wondering, what is your opinion on Griftah? I have just packed a golden one and I'm really tempted to just disenchant it, but I'm not sure if someone has found a good deck for it. What is the opinion on this card of people that have played with it?
I don't like that Griftah is a legendary. The card is bad and has a super boring effect, the only purpose it serves in the game is to mess with people's pack opening. Should be a rare or common card.
Seems like a pretty cool card to me. I'm not quite willing to craft it, but it's worth trying out. I'd suggest a midrange deck that is worried about running out of cards, it's absolutely better than a yeti if you use it correctly.
If you like it bro put a ring on it. If not then just dismantle his weak ass for 1600. Although I'm keeping mine in case he gets nerfed because he's op.
Seriously though he's trash. I'm only keeping him so I don't immediately pack pull him after.
If you don’t care about golden cards, treat any golden legendary as a “legendary of my choice” (same for other cards, except commons that are “common of my choice plus five dust”
unless it is something that is likely to be nerfed. so Griftah is good to go.
Griftahs only conceivable use is in mill decks, which only really work in wild due to Coldlight. Pick the two highest cost cards and make it tougher for your opponent to dump their hand.
use king mukkla, griftah and coldligh oracle to mill opponent's valueable stuff, you can also put it on rogue because mill rogue or use druid and use Forest Guide and Grove Tender alongside it.
When people say he's safe to disenchant, meaning that he won't ever be part of any strong deck (which is most likely correct), that doesn't strictly mean he's safe to disenchant.
If you disenchant him, that means you can unpack him again if you ever open any more RR packs. The 'correct' thing to do if you don't want him is to keep him until you've opened all the RR packs you think you're likely to get, then disenchant him only when you really need the dust.
I have been playing a mid-range rogue deck with him, and it's oddly pretty good (I milled a zuljin already). But obviously you need RNG blessing and meta knowledge to play it.
FYI 50% of the time I get a legendary to be choose for each battlecry.
All you people who say that griftah is hot garbage are probably sweaty players who play aggro mage and odd paladin all day. Griftah is one of my favorite cards in the set, and is surprisingly strong non ironically. The effect is great, you have a chance to win the game or give your opponent a good card. Your opponent may have a good card but they don’t know what you got. I think it’s one of the funniest cards to play against friends and was definitely worth the craft.

It's unbelieveable how much hate Griftah gets. It's basically a better Tanglefur Mystic on average since you can choose cards with Discover and also know what card your opponent got. It's clearly not a bad card if you just want to have fun and for that purpose it's even my favorite card of the expansion.
The times I played the card so far he was just fun. As you might expect sometimes he screws you over, but on average it's just an alright card to play at any time.
It really depends on what you want. If you want to have fun it's an excellent card. (The best card in the expansion in my opinion.) But if you're rather competitive oriented (which I hope you're not, but whatever) it's probably only slightly better than Tanglefur Mystic and since that didn't see much play it's a rather bad card as well with the exception it's Legendary and you can dust it for a better Legendary or multiple other good cards you want to have.
You couldn’t have explained it better. Griftah is one of the funniest cards I’ve ever played with besides yogg. I believe that griftah is trash if you’re a f2p, as there are countless other legendaries that are better. That being said, the times that I got out of my chair because of the excitement of potentially getting an amazing card, yes reno jackson was an option and I got him, is just fun. I play hearthstone to have fun, and griftah certainly brings that to the table. I’ve put him in my reno mage deck and surprisingly won me a few games.
Ok thanks for the imput guys, I will keep it a little longer just to not open him again or to craft what I need when I find a deck that I really want to play once the meta stabilizes.
I drew a Griftah and I’ll be damned if I’m not playing him. Spirit of the Shark, shadow step, lab recruit... honestly did a real nice job clogging my opponents hand. Best game was when I made a odd mage burn Jaina and the Loa due to having a perpetual full hand.

Possibly the worst card ever made in any card game
