I'm just wondering... why are there classic cards we haven't seen in a while? I mean, they are always part of standard but we stopped seeing them in constructed games somehow... at least for me. Not only because no one is using them but also they never spawn from random effects. They just vanished. Possible reasons:
-There are no random effects that create / summon them. -They are useless now, or have too many counters. -They cannot, or should not be used in specific decks (even / odd / no archetype).
-They were replaced by better cards.
Anyways, here my list of cards I haven't seen in a looong time:
This guy used to be included in many aggro decks. It just vanished. There aren't many AoE cards to counter it or better low cost stealth minions so... I've absolutely no idea why it disappeared.
Ok we can blame Piloted Shredder as the main reason we saw this card in the past days lol. But there were a few decks that included Cho (just check some youtube videos). It just disappeared from the face of the earth.
No need to say a word, lol. I havent seen this guy in eras. No wonder why.
I remember some Rogue decks running this. Got to admit it was a nightmare. Defias Ringleader into Cold Blood was brutal back in those days. Now's absolutely gone (Odd Rogue the reason?)
This used to be an important card in slow Warrior decks. Now I can barely see her.
Hunter DK's hero power is the only source I've seen this card come from to be honest. It used to be an ok card but a constant threat to aggro decks. I think it was completely replaced by Mossy Horror. But hey, even Mossy Horror is gone now...
I really miss this guy to be honest. He used to be a must in every Druid deck back in the days. Oaken Summons into Ironwood Golem proved to be much better.
This guy's the proof that a nerf usually kills the card. But hey, even at 5 mana it's still an ok card, considering how many 7-attack and more minions there are in meta (Mountain Giant, Sea Giant, Baku, King Krush, Charged Devilsaur, TLK, etc).
Ok this has never been a core card but itsn't a bad card at all. Haven't seen this guy in a while.
There are slow Druid decks... but no Cenarius can be found within them. Perhaps no board survives enough in today's meta to get potential from this.
Are there other cards you haven't seen in a while? Post them!
Someone hit me with Big Game Hunter earlier today and I was stunned. He's still decent in some decks, as it turns out. I've been playing long enough that I can remember Nat Pagle being in loads of decks because he drew at the end of your turn instead of the start. I remember Argent Commander being a staple before Sludge Belcher came around, and some decks actually wanted to play Chillwind Yeti just because its stats were so good for a 4-drop. As for more recent cards, it's been quite some time since I've seen anyone play Awaken the Makers or Unite the Murlocs.
The reason those 2-drops are not seeing play is because of Prince Keleseth.
Cenarius was my legendary from the welcome bundle. Desperately tried to make him work back then but he was just too slow. If that was the case then, the more people won't play him in the current metas, which is exactly what happened. He did pop up in some Token Druid decks as a win-more card.
Worgen Infiltrator My guess is there are just better one drops to choose from. Warlock wants Kobold Librarian, Hunter benefits from a beast like Dire Mole, etc.
Lorewalker Cho I don't remember anyone seriously playing this card beyond the streamer/youtuber Hobbs.
Faerie Dragon I had a Dragon Control Priest deck I was running recently and this was in it. In most decks, even if it's worth playing it probably gets outshined by Prince 2. But in that one it was nice having a cheap 3/2, it was a Dragon in hand to trigger other effects, and since I was running a lot of other 2 cost cards, the Keleseth effect didn't matter.
Defias Ringleader This card's power level just isnt' as strong as it used to be, compared to newer sets. Still saw it a lot when playing a new f2p account from 50-26. So it's used, but when better options aren't available. Used to be a favorite opener of mine (Coin > Ringleader). I also used to be very bad at this game! Maybe I still am... (See comment on Faerie Dragon, lol)
Cenarius I ran this guy on a f2p account Token Druid after opening him, but honestly, at this point it might be better to just run the Tending Tauren for a very similar effect, you can have two, and it's not as expensive.
I couldn't think of any off the top of my head, so I checked the standard cards list on HS Replay, sorted for lowest % in deck. A few came up that I was like "Oh yeah!"
Golakka Crawler: maybe if pirate rogue becomes a thing. Mostly classic cards that are obviously outshined right now by newer cards: Sunwalker, Fen Creeper, Felguard, etc Kind of surprised that Nesting Roc doesn't see some play. Even an aggro/midrange deck I feel could use this to protect their zoo of face smashing minions, but it sees no love. Silence too prominent? Am I delirious in thinking that this used to be a thing? I know I played it a bunch back in the Un'Goro days.
Arcanite Reaper. Pirate Warrior is dead. I saw a few people (myself included) tinkering with it in a Rush/Spellstone Warrior deck right when Witchwood came out, but it never caught on.
Shadowflame. It was nuts back when Power Overwhelming was in standard, but those days are over and Warlock has so much damn removal that there's not really a need for it any more.
Crazed Alchemist. Used to be a pretty strong Doomsayer counter, but that seems to be less of an issue in the current meta, and between Keleseth and odd decks, there's not a lot of demand for two-drops.
Cairne Bloodhoof. Something just feels truly wrong to me when we go this many consecutive expansions without Cairne being playable. I don't know if it's silence/transform effects, the N'zoth rotation, or just the death of fair midrange, but it's a sad state of affairs.

Big Game Hunter still see play, as a tech card I guess.
But I have never seen Kidnapper played outside of Arena, and even there ...
"What have you got there,
PinocchioMalygos?"I think I’m the only person in the last four years to ever play Savagery non-ironically.

The dragon sees play in dragon decks and I play bgh in my deck vs warlock.

Elite Tauren Chieftain
Someone doesnt play arena
Had the opportunity to face Reynad in Legend once. He ran Unite the Murlocs, Ice Fishing, and Ice Breaker.
