The main issue i see when running this in spell hunter is unleash the hounds, because it’s a must card for the deck and can be really really bad if the battlecry cast it first and then you have no room for companions and wolves anymore.
Never one to be salty, but when you compare this to Guldans hero power, this doesnt look great, still think they need to change guldans hero power from 3 to 2 considering its got life steal as well......maybe they should of made summon a 3/3 beast with rush?
This is potentially a good hero card considered it clears enemy's board, summon you full board and gives you 5 secrets. Not bad. The question would be whether it is too slow for the upcoming meta. We all know the old good yogg that could have had a significant Impact the turn he was played. It's literally the same card. It's right now hard to judge how good this card could possible be. Hero pow is like a huge disappointment but not the worst after all. The Time gonna prove it.
Everything about this card is boring, even the art. You would expect a bit of movement from a berserker troll and what's up with that awful blue background?? In terms of gameplay though it's gonna make an impact for sure, especially post rotation.
Very good if added to spell/secret hunter. People have complain about that the hero power not being in par with a 10 mana card when it´s the battlecry that might win you the game

The disappointment itself its with Zul'Jin, which was a very important troll in the Lore (Even from WCIII TFT bonus campaign "Fouding of Durotar" where our friend Rexxar is staring.) Zul'jin deserved a better design :/
I don't think this will see play over Rexxar. Maybe in some decks people will try both hero cards, but the power of Rexxar is bigger since it provides you with cards and not only face/board control damage.
But when Deathstalker Rexxar cycles out, this will see play. The effect is sufficiently controllable with many hunter spells so that the spells do not backfire ( Animal Companion , Deadly Shot , all secrets, Emerald Spellstone , Dire Frenzy , Play Dead ). In this way, Zul'jin gives you a board and removes the opponent's minions. And another advantage is that you do not lose the hero power pressure on the opponent's health total which sometimes is sad when you switch to DK Rexxar. But with Zul'jin you can still aim at face if need be.
Zul'jin is not as good as Bloodreaver Gul'dan , but to me he looks strong enough after rotation 2019 and maybe even before that as a final push (or if you get it before Rexxar).
Why does people compare it to Rexxar, as long as they are both available you will have both in a secrethunter deck

I mentioned Rexxar since I think it has a better hero power and if you play him and Zul'jin on curve it is kind of anti synergistic. And I said that my guess is that noone will replace Rexxar with Zul'jin. That is hardly a comparison. Mostly I tried to analyze Zul'jin and why I think he is a generally playable card.
But I also mentioned that some people will likely use both. But I also think that will not last long since they stop again. Equally like people stopped using DK Grommash and Dr. Boom in one deck.
Edit: And people bring up Rexxar simply for the reason that he is the other hunter hero card. And Gul'dan is mentioned, because you can seee his powerlevel in comparison to Zul'jin for both, the deathrattle and the hero power.
Amm, for me a win-condition is a card/set-up, which after being played wins you the game.
If you play this hero card, what will you get? A board full of 3/3 wolves (+/- a 4/2 charger or a 4/4 taunt). You do realize, that this board can be easily answered by a single board clear (Flamestrike), right? The board, which Gul'dan gives you, is stickier. DK rexxar doesn't summon minions on his own, but he produces such, which can have charge, rush+lifesteal/poison... At one point, the pressure from those stitched monstrosities can't be handled, the opponent's removals will get exhausted and the zombeasts will eventually win you the game.
Furthermore there is still RNG in Zul'jin's effect. Let's say you cast Kill Command on the opponent's face. If you play the hero card and this card lands on one of your minions on your face, then can you consider this legendary a "win-condition" again? Another dude also mentioned the possibility of casting Unleash the Hounds before other minion summoning spells (To My Side!, Animal Companion, spellstone etc etc), so you will flood your board with useless minions. The secrets will stay, but since there isn't a redesign of Cat Trick, what good are they against control? They can't punish the opponent, if they cleared the board. So, mate, do you still see this hero card as a win-condition?
Note - Yogg was powerful, because he could cast all kinds of spells. He could cast AoEs, heals, board summoning ones etc - he was viewed as an unfair card, because the ranked/tournament games became a coin-flip. It didn't matter what you played, sometimes RNG can be on your side and could cast beneficial spells for you. Zul'jin isn't anything like that. He only casts hunter spells and since hunter lacks AoEs, heals, since the burst spells can't target the opponent's face reliably, there is no way someone can compare this legendary to Yogg.
I think most of the death knights from frozen throne were power creep which decided the game on their own.. hence blizzard is printing balanced heroes or rng based heroes to avoid the initial designs..
bloodreaver guldan’s battlecry can fill your board with voidlords and then has a 3 damage hero power with lifesteal. this can fill your board with 3/3 beasts, or beasts from your deck but only if you still have good ones in your deck and then you only get a 2 damage hero power. How is that fair?

Even though the RNG factor may screw your own board (or life total, etc), it is way more reliable than Yogg.
No risk of overdrawing to death, nor accidentaly setting your opponent back to full health. Small chances of clearing your own board - even though you may end with poor minions.
On the bright side, it'll be great with To My Side, Spellstone and Secrets. It may not reset a losing board as Yogg does, but even if you end up with just 2 wolfs as long as you back them up with a good set of secrets it will put you back in the game.
It is so strong with secrets that some unusual ones such as Rat Trap may see play as one of after Rastakhan release.
HP is boring as fuck, but after you go all out with the Battlecry you may prefer the face damage rather than Zombeasts.
It's good that this card is NOT op, because then the hunters would have been unstoppable. But damn, I was expecting more from it.

Well the effect its pretty ok (Hey Yogg-Saron, Hope's End )

I see this in play with only certain spells, that buff your own minions and ofcourse the legendary spell + resurrection for 2 mana.
Secret hunter could be a bad choice, because you could spawn some 1/1s hounds or 3/3s wolves...
Secret and board reload alright

Most boring battlecry and hero power design possible Zul’jin could get.

Totally awesome. The naysayers will realize this day one. Spell Hunter is awesome still, just not unfair-OP crap everyone MUST play.
Exactly what i thought
