Nice stats, but I am skeptical it will see play. I just don't see why this card will be included. People will prefer Fungalmancer for the extra 4 damage burst than a pseudo AoE protection.
Unlike the previously revealed epic card, this one is playable. But for me, this stays as an arena card.
This card is very flexible, also the effect is completely new. If there is any card to sleep on, it is this one.
In case you can't see why this card is flexible, here is why:
It can be used to protect more valuable minions with less health. For example Mana Tide Totem.
It can be used to protect minions with high damage but low attack. For example Leeroy Jenkins, or a lich king that has traded with a Hooked Reaver.
It can be used when you plan on trading one big minion for another. For example when you trade your mountain giant with another mountain giant.
It can be used to keep your high health minion undamaged in an inner fire deck. At 8 health, it can also just be used in an inner fire deck as the sole minion to buff.
It can be used both agressively as defensively. This effect is NOT TAUNT. You can use it the turn you play it to trade up.
And I bet there is or will be some kind of crazy combo this works in as well, but this is what I came up with in just a few seconds.
Its better than bolf because its protects your engine minions (auctioneer, knife juggler, pint sized, etc) This card allows for essentially a dynamic +8 health to a minion with a controllable 3 extra damage.
Is it good on its own, no. But can it provide an interesting, positions-based, strategy for gameplay, yes.
This card has so much cool potential, I think a lot of it power lies in protecting good value 1 and 2 drops. For example a Young Dragonhawk could actually be quite scary when it's got a large shield.
Very interesting card, can protect adjacent minion against board clear, can let us attack our lifesteal minions without losing them.
You can have this and adjacent minions hurt for 2-4health and effectively heal them all with a single spell which is way better than boosting a single minion stats.
Don't forget this card works to protect your minions on the attack too, so you don't even need taunt to benefit. For example, place this down beside a Giant Wasp and the Giant Wasp will take no damage when it attacks.
I think it'll be interesting to see how this works when adjacent to a Divine Shield minion. The damage is reduced to 0 but the Snapjaw Shellfighter takes the damage. Does the shield pop and the shellfighter take 0? Does the shellfighter protect the bubble and take full damage? I'm curious.

Interesting design though.
Just for kicks, I wanna see a highlight reel with Animated Armor, then two copies of Bolf Ramshield with a Snapjaw Shellfighter in the middle.
edit: second Bolf is probably redundant and wouldn't do anything actually.

This next to a Stubborn Gastropod or a Trogg Gloomeater could be nice :)
From video it seems this card takes overkill damage too
so if you Hellfire board of Snapjaw Shellfighter between 2x Silver Hand Recruit leaves 2 or 1 Recruits?
or Tyrantus attack one of the recruits only this card dies or recruit dies too?
i’m actually really curious to see what happens when two of these are side by side
Check out my Earth, Wind, and Fire - Elemental Shaman deck!
I imagine you could put it next to another "ongoing" effect minion to protect it. Like Ixlid + this for 10 mana ?
Shaman's taunt totem can be OP vs aggro with this.
Release the Kraken!

Priest likes this
Might be good enough for Zoo after next rotation. Strong if ahead for trading and counter against aoe.
Would be great next to a bittertide hydra in arena.
I would call this soft taunt minion.
Golden heroes: Warlock, Druid, Mage, Hunter
T5 snapjaw shellshifter next to a sufficiently beefy minion or set of minions,
T6 double Divine Spirit + Inner Fire?
T7 Rank 1 Legend obv

arena will love this too.

Also sweet pick in arena

It doesnt pop since the divine shield minion didnt take damage, is in the video.
