This + Power Word: Shield and it's got the same stats and cost as Violet Teacher, plus it summons 1/1 taunt and draws you a card. Will see play in some form, I'm sure of it.
Edit: Also has decent synergy with Grave Horror and Arcane Giant if you wanna build deck around them, helps you survive the aggro until u get ur big boys out.
It would be awfully foolish to dismiss any token generator and even more foolish to dismiss one so cheap that generates taunt minions.
This card in nearly any other class would almost be outright broken. In priest however, I feel it's somewhere between average and good. I do feel however that this card can help push a new priest archetype and that's a great thing.
I personally feel that the power level of this card as a lone 3 drop feels great. 3 mana 3/3 is just not bad. Cast one spell and you get value. Cast two spells and you get lots of value. The fact that these tokens come with taunt that protects your board cannot be understated. However, priests lack the ability to mass buff their board. No savage roars or bloodlusts here. So, the real power of this card is to build a board that needs protecting. Radiant Elementals are a great example of a minion you want to protect, and helps synergize with your cheap spells to build an even larger wall. The applications of a card like this are extremely potent, it's just up to us to find those applications and put them to the test to see if they hold up.
I'm voting Playable because even by itself, I feel this card will find a home in a new priest deck. It brings enough power to the table without any kind of synergies that I think it merits a place in standard. It may even find a home in some existing priest decks, though I'm skeptical. I just don't know if it will bring about a new tier 1 deck or shake up the meta in any real meaningful way. However, a card like this only needs a bit of support (mass buffs for priests or other powerful synergies) for it to become Very Good or even Meta Defining. Definitely a good card through it's own merits though, I'm looking forward to playing with it.

Agreed. It definitely feels like the kind of card you also want to run Shadow Ascendant in.

Life before death. Strength before weakness. Journey before destination.

Seems better than Dragon Soul. Makes me wonder why Dragon Soul had to be so crappy.
Galavant Animation
might make spell priest something (i doubt due to limited board space limiting its potential). Arena for sure though.
That's one fun toy effect but oh boi.
The Artwork is disguising, Neck is missing head is glued to the armor and the staff angle with skull is awful.

Why would priest want this you ask? Curbstomping aggro seems like a nice starting point.

This is a very decent common card.
