Judging at the reactions i already saw below, Alot didn't see the cards working correctly. It actually gives you a card per "overkill" so up to 7 with a full board. This can get bonkers at times! For once i like the rng synergy. You can read back at the revealsite
Terrible card. Damage is too low/mana cost too high.
If it was 4 mana or 3 damage it could be good. Paying 5 mana for a volcanic potion is terrible. Overkill will rarely happen without comboing it with spell damage.
You can get multiple spells out of this which is cool, but you'll have to be killing 1 health minions, and aside from paladin, this doesn't happen that much. Better to run dragon's fury
People are forgetting that Cabalist's Tome used to be a thing, and it was used in quite a few decks back when.
This is definitely good, if you get 1 or 2 Spells from it it's great, if you get more or if you use it to play Giants and Tyrants the card becomes insane!
I don't feel like the basic effect without overkill is good, of course, but it is a great card at the right turn that can easily turn the tide of the game.

Spellpower exist. Even with Thalanos + this works against most wide boards
I initially thought that this card was somewhere between playable and bad, but then realized that the overkill triggers on each minion. That completely changes the power level of the card and lets you do ridiculous things, particularly in combination with cards like Leyline Manipulator and Bloodmage Thalnos or Celestial Emissary. With either of the spellpower minions, you not only clear the board, but you replenish your hand. Similarly, playing the leyline manipulator after this combo lets you do otherwise impossible things via generating enormous discounts.
I wouldn't take an extra card into a control deck just to make this card playble. And it is not even needed, there are great alternatives which don't need extra support. Maybe after rotation...
Dragon's Fury rotates out in April. Let's check back then.

unless your playing this with +spellpower the only way to trigger the overkill is killing 1 hp minions , this card is really bad.

Why u hav to be mad? is only card gaem.
Hearthpwn: YOU CAN'T TRIGGER THE OVERKILL, THEREFORE THIS CARD IS BAD
Also Hearthpwn: RANDOM SPELLS ARE BAD
which one is it? either random spells are bad and thats why this card is bad, or random spells are good and all this card needs is a little help.
Also, thalnos is bad because it's not a spell and has worse stats than Loot Hoarder, which does the exact same thing.

Its like Omega Assembly pretty good value card imo.
Blast Wave in to Mountain Giant + 2x Arcane Tyrant
pair it with Spell Power for big value, not really what mage needs but giving more board clears is always nice for mage, especially in arena :^)
Nice one, hearthpwn
The card sucks though.

Meme card.

Is definitely playable in quest mage. Other than that, pretty meh.

Maybe setting it up with a Tainted Zealot on the previous turn... if the opponent kills the zealot, well then it soaked up some damage at least.
Lot of dream scenarios with multiple cards, I'm not convinced I think this is bad and easily played around.

It's really ducking amazing, With Celestial Emissary combined it can easily clear any board while filling your hand with spells :o

Potentially strong card, but it's limited by the cost. It's definitely good against aggro, though.
Calling it playable atm as midrange/control mage can use it, but its real potential is left to be seen.
EDIT: Looking at it again though, the art does look fantastic. It must be amazing in gold.
