I haven't taken a close look at the 6 mana minion pool yet, but the fact that this gives the summoned minion taunt and divine shield to protect your face makes me think this might just be playable. Or at least not be so terrible it can't be used with Shirvallah if that becomes a thing.
Put together a rough spreadsheet to get the stats on this:
Tier 1 - Good Outcome (above the value curve for 7 mana): Blackguard (x4), Cairne Bloodhoof, Damaged Stegatron, Frozen Crusher, Hungry Ettin, Illidan Stormrage, Mechanical Welp - (10 chances total)
Tier 2 - Fine Outcome (will not likely influence win/loss): Sunkeeper Tarim (x4), Archmage, Bone Drake, Bolderfist Ogre, Furnacefire Colossus, Gadgetzan Auctioneer, Hemet Junglehunter, Hogger, Missle Launcher, Necrotic Guist, Nerubian Unraveler, Reckless Rocketeer, Sabretooth Stalker, Spark Drill, The Beast, Windfury Harpy - (19 chances total)
Tier 3 - Bad Outcome (below the value curve for 7 mana): Crystal Lion (x4), Glowstone Tech (x4), Arcane Dynamo, Argent Commander, Frost Elemental, Genn Greymane, Lord of the Arena, Mossy Horror, Priestess of Elune, Skulking Guist, Spell Weaver, Sunwalker, The Black Knight - (19 total Chances)
According to the stats - you should on average see at least a Tier 1 pick in 50.4% of Discovers and at least a Tier 2 pick in 93.8% of plays. I tried to take the cards with situational value into account since they are likely to be picked and valuable when the situation calls. (A lesson I learned from my analysis of all Zombeasts back in the day)
I agree with an earlier sentiment in-that I would consider Cairne Bloodhoof to be the best outcome. Sylvanas Windrunner would be my top Wild choice, or maybe Maexxna. It could also negate Bolf Ramshield's main weakness, which is nice.
All-in-all, it's a cool card and I'm excited to see what comes with it. Who knows, maybe there are more 6-mana minions in store for us?
Behold, foolish interlopers! I am commanding this mortal to spread the will of the Scourge throughout the interwebs, encouraging you to seek out me, Archlich Kel'Thuzad! Now coming to you as the tenth class of Hearthstone!
I am a finalist in this Class Creation Competition, so if you could give it a look I would be greatly appreciative <3
First I thought the card might be pretty strong but after reviewing the currently existing 6 mana minions i kind of feel like playing sunwalker might be much more reliable if you are looking for the taunt/divine shield package. Best case scenario you get a force tank MAX plus taunt, what is good but weak to the tons of hard removal.
When you examine standard and take into account the 4x class preference of discover you find there is an approx. 50% chance of a top tier discovery. There is a 90%+ chance of finding at lease average value for 7 mana pick. Much better than the sunwalker.

Apart from niche spell synergies (i.e. the new loa or putting it in a big spell deck with Spiteful Summoner), I'm pretty sure we're all getting overexcited about this.
A lot of 6 drops are extremely mediocre for constructed, many more rely on battlecries, and some already have taunt or divine shield and have been costed accordingly. I reckon that a "good" result for this card after you've taken the best of 3 minions is going to be that you get a 6/6 taunt divine shield, which is not good enough for a constructed 7 drop.
I might just be farming downvotes here, but c'est la vie.

Sunkeeper already has taunt.
Why is there always one guy who doesnt get it? He even put a smiley behind it.
Class specific cards in the 6 slot are not that great for Paladin, but at least the divineshield protects from an easy overkill.
Like someone in this thread already mentioned - good card, but no deck to fit this into. This (nor Shirvallah) doesn't make Control Paladin viable on its own, despite fitting VERY nicely into a hypothetical Control deck. Soo...if they release more cards that make a Control Paladin viable, then yeah this sees play. Otherwise, it won't see the light of day (much like Grimestreet Protector. Sigh...that was a card that had the potential to be constructed viable and never got a deck to be put into).
The class pool is quite poor most cards are below average, a 3/9 taunt and DS for 7.. yeah I don't think it's that good.
the neutral pool looks better but there are some missed there too I think on average you don't get totally screwed, sadly the class cards paladin got on 6 are quite MEH.
In wild the pool is better for paladin. but I think in the end this card will be played cause of the synergies.
wait, doest it put the discovered card into ur hand ?
No, it immediately summons it onto the table.

No: summon effects such as this ignore Battlecries. Battlecry only triggers if it is played directly from your hand - aka "the normal way" - meaning Damaged Stegotron is an excellent choice for the effect.

I dont know if i want to summon a tech card (mostly 6 mana crystal cards are tech ones, or bad in stats compensted with good battlecries or effect on boards like Gadgetzan Auctioneer), and replace it's battlecry for divine shield + taunt for 7 mana.

Yes, Because without the battlecry it's already better than Sleepy Dragon which is a 9 drop. And then you will get Divine Shield too. So you are getting a 10 drop for the price of 7.

Finally a Paladin card that is WORSE if you choose Sunkeeper Tarim.
6/7 Boulderfist Ogres, you know we had to do it to 'em.
Frozen Crusher intensifies
I can finally get Taunt on my Sunkeeper Tarim ;D

Then go play chess. This is Hearthstone.

I checked and there are currently 37 paladin and neutral 6 drops in standard
4 paladin cards: Sunkeeper Tarim(decent), glowstone technican(TERRIBLE),Crystal Lion(playable),Blackguard(situationally good, better than tarim)
The class pool is quite poor most cards are below average, a 3/9 taunt and DS for 7.. yeah I don't think it's that good.

Will Damaged Stegotron lose the 6 health if summoned by this?
Rusty Recycler
Ironic. It could recycle others, but not itself.

Changed from very-good to playable or even bad
Behold Sylvanas :)
