I was lucky enough to open a Golden Lord Jaraxxus this morning, and would like to throw him in a deck to try him out, I don't care that Gul'dan outclasses him, I just want to play him. Does anyone have any decks that are fun and somewhat competitive with him? I didn't play HS when Handlock was a thing, so maybe something like that? I'm saving dust for the next expansion, but I could spend 200-400 dust to make a good deck if necessary.
That's a hard on man, like I love the card but like you said, utterly outclassed by guldan. The only thing he does better than the hero card is potentially more healing on play (up to 14) but even that is mitigated by your health being capped at 15 for the rest of the game. Even in a deck designed to be perfect for him, guldan would still serve the same purpose better.
So no, there aren't any decks right now (possibly never in wild) that he's great in but nobody is stopping you from putting him in a deck anyway. I think the best deck for him is one that utilises self damage as much as possible, with aggressive hero powering and plenty of pressure on board. Demon midrange? I dunno
I recently picked up the last classic legendary so then immediately dusted jaraxxus so that next time I get a golden classic legendary it'll be this sick mofo. So yeah, I feel your pain brother
Jaraxxus is surprisingly good right now with still arguably the strongest hero power in the game. I was playing a deck using Dark Possession and I found whenever I discovered jaraxxus I would play him and win. Now I play a demonlock deck with both guldan and jaraxxus. Sometimes pull him with lackey, and res with guldan. sometimes play him before or after guldan. Really overlooked card in the meta right now.
If you really want to play him, I guess you should try to include cards like Sunfury Protector, Argus, Shadowflame... kind of like what the old Handlock was doing. Probably some healing with the 4/4 mushroom guys. Aoes.
I was thinking that he might be a fun thing to put into current zoolock.
I mean, think about it. In just one card you get infinite pressure against Control decks and you get a 3-attaack weapon which can give you reach in close games. Not to mention he can also be a clutch heal at some points. Zoolock even runs a lot of healing at this point, so it's not like the 15-hp limit is that much of a drawback.
I have the same ''problem' ' with a golden lord J. I unpacked a while ago. Tried some stuff but always lose against almost any other deck except big Mage.
So I can't wait until Guldan rotates out. I really hope the change the 15 HP cap but I don't really expect them to do so.

"I really hope they change the 15 HP cap" Can you even imagine how OP he would be xD - But fun when its your turn!
Its a cool card. But as other people stated, its just not his time atm. Maybe after the DK Hero's are removed from standard.
He is used on Odd Warlock. Primarily as a demon to pull out with Skull, although you can consider actually playing him from hand in some situations. Unfortunately, Odd Warlock is a pretty bad deck.
There are a few recent uploads of an Odd Quest Lock that include Lord J. One of those could be potentially interesting and fun if you've got the cards for it. Also, you could just make a regular Odd Lock. I think I saw an Odd Lock without quest in the list.
I play Jaraxxus in a non reno version control warlock. He is crazy good against slow decks and can heal you out of burn range againzt aggro. I play mistress of mixture, applebaums, spellstones for healing and annoying taunts like voidlord to protect face. Then if you get low on health or lose board, nzoth to heal more and protect face. And if you are still low on hp and behind on board, turn into guldan to heal back up even more and win the game. He is honsstly not a bad card, you dont have to exclude him from decks just because guldan is better. Include them both, since guldan is not really a reliable win condition against slow decks. And cards like Rin is not as reliable against slow decks cuz if she is near the bottom of your deck, she is a dead card.

Not that much reach from hand ATM, so it's not a huge drawback. Main issue is that a 9-drop 3 attack weapon is not what zoo wants to do on T9, along with how reliant zoo is on the HP. Zoo wants tempo and board control. Not Lord J. As excellent as OBLIVION! is, it's not the deck for him. If zoolock has lost the board and not lethalled by T9, they've lost. a low chance to get back into those matchups that also wrecks other matchups when you draw it instead of something synergistic? Nah. You're better off with traditional zoo stuff. If you want that kind of topend, you'd be better served with a slower, demon-focussed zoo and running the DK.
I was thinking less of an actual addition, and more like a tech card. You ofc don't want to drop this turn 9 i you don't have to. I see it as more of a (admittedly worse) Deathstalker Rexxar for Zoo, where you spend a turn doing very little, but continue to pump out threats afterwards. Essentially, all you#re really doing is trade your extra card per turn for an extra 6/6 instead (which is similar value, since you're trying to draw into minions to play anyways)
This way you have a better chance of beating decks like Big Spell Mage and Odd Warrior which were previously somewhat impossible to beat (if you didn't just rush them down)
i'm not saying it's brilliant, but let's be honest, has anyone so far even tried it?
sorry: I actually play him nowadays in my antimeta deck. It's a stronger "near fatigue tool", because if your oppo and you dont have anything, you just use him and make board over board

Hmm. Could work. It has been a LONG time since i last played zoo - switched away from it to handlock just after GvG released, for reference (back in my day, we had defenders of argus and dark iron dwarves! :P). I'd be mainly worried as to how much you're losing to put Jaraxxus in, and how often he just sits in your hand, being discarded to doomguards or being topdecked and jeering at you. I'm not really a fan of cards in those decks for when your main plan fails, as by including them, you're increasing the chance of failure of your main plan. You're welcome to try it out and see, of course :)
Here's the deck. I'm testing it at rank 4 right now and so far it'S not looking too bad. Jaraxxus has won me one game so far and has gotten two others really close (much closer than I would have been without him). The fact that I use Tar Creeper instead of Doubling Imp helps a lot as well, since you have more defensive options to draw into after J-raxx.
There was only one deck against Odd Pally (who drew the complete nuts all the time to the point where even double Dreadlord couldn't stop him) where Jaraxxus was a dead card and that was mostly because I was constantly fighting for the board. If I had a turn to bring him out he might have even won the game.
For standard you can play a classic style handlock deck ... it's surprisingly ok, as long as you don't expect it to compete with evenlock which outclasses it.

He will be pretty good after rotation in standard, free heal and op heropower is too good not to include
Skidaddle skidoodle your Milhouse manastorm is now a noodle

I tried having fun once. It was awful.

Unfortunately I still don't have him on my main account, so I don't have any fun decks with him, but I used the Decks tab to do a search:

Since he only costs 9 mana you could use Crystallizer to effectively give yourself 20 health instead of 15.

Does not work like that, Jaraxxus removes your Armor and caps your HP to 15.

Infound this deck:
its been a lot of fun, and after a few games I’ll start looking for newer cards to update it. Definitely fun and reasonably strong.
Oh I didn't realise you were looking for a wild deck. Then you could consider Faceless Shambler it's pretty nice

Quick Update: Jaraxxus in Zoo does actually work (at least as a tech)
So if you're playing Zoo and running into a lot of boardclear heavy decks you can put it in there and have some fun.
