Its basically a 4 mana 5/3 taunt, because if this card is played the opponent will have to kill it for sure... You dont want to take 5 damage and you dont want your opponent to draw 2 cards
This card will go straight in any overkill decks, especially if they print support cards with something like ”your overkills trigger twice” or ”Your minions with overkill have immune this turn”
If your opponent can't remove this with a spell it will usualy be
4 Mana5 / 3 Deathrattle: Draw 2-4 Cards.
...but without the Deathrattle keyword. In Arena it's basically a Polluted Hoarder on steroids. As long as your opponent trades into it with small stuff you are good to go.
It might even see constructed play in some.... even-midrange-pirate deck? 5/3 for 4 is not that bad, and drawing 2 cards on top is extremly powerful. It's a really threatening minion, especially with the pirate synergy. And even if your opponent silences/hexes/nukes this, they are doing that to a 4 drop.
This is the combo that makes the most sense. Not sure Hunter has a place for this card though
You say that but I wouldn't be surprised if Blizzard try to push Pirate Hunter. The last 2 expansions we've had Dragon Hunter and Mech Hunter so why not...
That is good information to have. It make sense, too, otherwise this card was probably broken.
I still think it's in the realm of playable. No instead of being excellent at every point in the game, this card is very good when you're ahead. If you're ahead, this card is incredibly snow-bally; i.e. a must remove.
That is exactly in line with what Aggro and Midrange decks want to be doing.
Granted, it isn't difficult to remove, but that's removal that isn't being spent on other minions.
Actually, this might be one of the best neutral aggro card released in a number of sets.
I really think people are missing this one. I agree that it doesn't look impressive at all. But I think it will play out being more useful than people are realizing.

Aggro card? 3 health for 4 mana do nothing is not an option for aggro. But lets assume you play it on 4 and it's 2 mana health keeps it somehow alive until the next turn: What are you doing as an aggro deck? Trading to get cards or going face for 5. Trading is not what aggro wants to do, and if you go face you don't get anything from the overkill effect.
If this would be a good aggro minion, Worgen Greaser would be even better. But it is not even close to be playable.

First, 3 health, not 2.
Worgen Greaser isn't playable because it has bad stats and no effect. This has bad stats and a great effect.
I understand that "you don't want to be trading" in aggro/midrane, but the fact of the matter is sometimes you will be. Won't it be nice to draw more gas instead of just losing a minion?
Games aren't played in an "everything goes perfectly" vacuum.

Yes, in theory. But how often you will be able to do so. Worgen greaser is crap because it will not be able to attack due to his shitty stat line (six face damage for 4 mana would be a great card if you could attack with him; see Fireball or Leeroy Jenkins which are staples in aggro). This has a similar statline to the greaser and will therefore suffer the same problems: It has no survivability and will be a 4 mana do nothing.
Edit: I wrote 2 mana health (like a 2 mana 2/3). And the "everything goes perfectly" vacuum is the condition under which this card would be good. On average, it doesn't go perfectly and then you paid 4 mana for a minion that cannot even 2 for 1 a 2 drop (in this instance a 3/2 ;) But of course, I can be wrong (just I don't think I am here).

I think you will be more able to do so more often than you think.
It gets the draw even if it dies, giving it pseudo-deathrattle. I think a lot of the time Greaser was crap was because when you had to trade with him (like into a taunt), he was useless. Greaser can only go face. This doesn't share that weakness.
This is more Genzo than Greaser. And Genzo did see some competitive play in it's day.
As an aside, it's not as if this card faces much competition at the 4 mana spot right now. There's Saronite, Corpsetaker, and basically nothing else at that mana cost that's neutral.

I myself used him in token Druid (that was before UI). But Genzo, the shark has 4 health which lets it survive more low cost removal ( Wrath , Flanking Strike , Lightning Bolt) and survives trading with most 2 and 3 drops that are used. Additionally, he draws when you go face (unlike Ticket Scalper ). I think Worgen greaser is a pretty fitting comparison.

It's really bad against weapons though.
Except Overkill does not trigger on the opponent's turn.
No you need to attack, opponent trading into this won't trigger overkill.
You say that but I wouldn't be surprised if Blizzard try to push Pirate Hunter. The last 2 expansions we've had Dragon Hunter and Mech Hunter so why not...
Overill only triggers on your turn.
The opposite would be awesome. Opponent would have to spend a spell on this minion or trade a bigger minion into this one.
The goal of all life is death.
It will be great in a Warrior Agro deck Combo is: Rocket Boots + Ticket Scalper
That is good information to have. It make sense, too, otherwise this card was probably broken.

Sounds terrible. First of all, Aggro Warrior does not want to play Rocket Boots. It doesn’t fit the archetype.
Secondly, there are ton of taunts with 5 health. Rotten Applebaum, Scarabs, Steeded minions ...
Actually, this might be one of the best neutral aggro card released in a number of sets.

You know that you can activate the effect ONLY if the minion with the ability overkills another one? It's not global
yes. that's why i've said what I've said.

As to the 4 drops, there are a few more that are used ( Shroom Brewer , Lifedrinker , Spellbreaker ).
But we will see whether this will see regular play.
Does Overkill work even if the attacking minion dies?
