So we have confirmation that there will be one Hero card in the set, that that card will be Zul'Jin, and that Zul'Jin is the Loa Champion for the Hunter class. Therefore, we can deduce that Hunter will be receiving the only Hero card this expansion. (I know this may seem obvious, but there are still a few people debating this...)
Hunter already has the best DK in the game. Deathstalker Rexxar is single-handedly carrying the class on its back (barring Baku-Hunter). So, once the KFT heroes rotate, Hunter will be left in a pretty debilitating spot. I believe this is why Hunter is receiving the new hero– so that once rotation hits, the class just won't be outright uncompetitive. However, to wait until the new rotation to release the card would result in it existing for 6 xpac cycles. As some of you may or may not know, the 3rd set released in any of the previous standard years is always the shortest (4xpac lifespan).
So, I'm predicting based on that information that the card will not be as good as DK Rexxar (how could it?) but will be good enough to warrant it only be around for 4 xpac cycles instead of 6, and will be decent enough to include in a fair number of decks. There are a few criteria to consider, such as cost, armor gain, battlecry, and replaced hero power.
Cost is the first thing to consider as you know exactly the deck constraints without even having to read the effect. 6 or 8? It can go in Even Hunter but not Odd. 5 or 7 or 9? It can go in Odd Hunter but not Even. Armor is less significant than other criteria. I would imagine it would either be 5 armor or X armor where X is the mana cost of the card. Battlecry is very important, as it could determine what type of card it is and what deck it could go into. DK Rexxar is currently good at wiping up your opponent's weak or damaged minions, thus making it a good midgame defensive tool. The battlecry will help determine the cards viability and is likely to be tied for second most important behind the hero power and the cost. Hero Power is probably the most important criteria. What will this card allow me to do differently for the rest of the game? This is probably the least predictable aspect.
Based on those four criteria, I would guess the card will be: 7 Mana (not a lot of good 7 Mana cards for Hunter; plus, creates more deck diversity because it's eligible in Odd Hunter); 7 Armor (keeping in line with Dr. Boom Hero); Battlecry would maybe be equip some kind of weapon or give all of your minions Overkill: deal 2 damage to the enemy hero; Hero Power could be deal 3 damage (Building on Overkill synergy with proposed battlecry and would make Odd Hunter the aggro deck to beat. Not unlikely, seeing as the flavor of the xpac is Midrange-y)
Hmm, it looks interesting, I think that it might have chances to be close to the actual result, though I think some numbers may need to be reorganized. This feels a tiny bit too damaging and a bit too late.

Yeah the extra damage is to make up for it being a later card. My theory was to have it anchor down Baku (so the HP stays relatively the same but with targetability for the Overkill). The other thought was to make it cost 5 and have the battlecry only affect your cards and not the hero power.
I wonder if his Hots tree is anything to go by? If this is a high risk, high reward hero, he could be fantastic. I'm thinking some form of self-harming mechanism that gives a power boost?
Thanks for clarifying. Seems odd to me they'd give Hunter a new hero card when other classes are more desperately in need of one (Priest; Paladin; Rogue?)
But as the OP noted, I suppose if Rexxar rotates out in April the class may find itself very weak without a hero card.

Yet DK Rexxar has the second lowest played w/r of all the deathknights according to hsreplay
Likely because the played win rate is comprised of good and bad players’ results. It’s the DK with the most decision making, therefore the most difficult to play optimally.

The Hero card will probably give you some bonkers weapon with a decent battlecry. The overkill prediction is pretty decent as the expansions latest keyword it will most likely be used quite a lot so why not stick it on the Hunter Hero card aswell

First: Hunter hero will only have 5 armor. 7 armor was because of dr. boom flavor and because it's a warrior-hero. Hero power will probably be not this. I predict it to be this time a passive hero power too: probably the battlecry as you predicted will be the passive hero-power. Because as a passive battlecry this would be far too strong, because after him you could simply use deathstalker rexxar and be unstoppable. I think the battlecry might be a tudor-card-draw effect, or turn all minion on the field into beasts or something. Not transform, rather giving all the beast-tag.

Can't wait to see him.
Golden Hero Collections thus far; -
Europe: Druid, Hunter, Paladin, Mage, Priest, Rogue, Shaman, Warlock, Warrior (9/9)
Americas: Druid, Mage, Paladin Shaman (4/9)
Everywhere else: Workin on it.. (0/9)

How do we know about Zul'jin? Is there something "official" out there?
They mentioned in the announcement that it will be the new Hunter Hero Card but they didn't show it.

Same goes for high ranks and legend

given the trend with new hero cards it is reasonable to assume that he has an aggressive effect.
I tried having fun once. It was awful.
Randomly rotating Hero Power (Boom fashion), between 4 Amani Gods effects: possibly Armor (Bear), Damage (Lynx), AoE (Dragonhawk) and Removal (Eagle).
Battlecry could be a Cone of damage instead of Rexxar's Cleave, or some deck buff.
