Since is the first post, I'll address the new mechanics and what I think of them
Overkill: Definition- Gives an additional effect if it deals damage exceeding the health of the minion it targeted. My Thoughts- A cool effect that is a little overpowered in my opinion. I think in most cases it would be rarer to deal exact damage without calculation. It seems interesting though and actually makes dealing over damage something to consider.
Spirits: Definition- Minions that have stealth for the first turn, and give your other cards stronger effects. My Thoughts- Really cool cards, I think they're fun and work well in Hearthstone. With that said, it might be a little strong if they're all like spirit of the shark, but they do lead to new combo ideas.
Cannon Barrage- Epic Rogue Spell/6 mana, Deal 3 damage to a random enemy. Repeat for each of your Pirates. Rating: 2/5 My Opinion: Interesting Idea, maximum damage of 21 for 6 mana. I think that its really situational, and you can really only get value if you run a pirate deck. However, if we look at meteor which is the same mana for the same amount of damage, it puts into consideration is this really worth it, and I say its hard it tell now with the small number of cards dropped so far, but it does have potential.
Hex Lord Malacrass- Legendary Mage Minion/8 Mana 5/5, Add a copy of your opening hand to your hand. (except this card.) Rating: 2/5 My Opinion: Again a really situational card, however, it will work a lot more than Cannon Barrage. I feel like this card would work good if 1. You went 2nd, 2. You had a decent opening hand. However, you know which cards you'll get and how they could help in that situation. I can see it working, but I don't think decks are gonna be made out of this card.
Pyromaniac- Rare Mage Minion/ 4 Mana 3/4, When your hero power kills a minion, draw a card. Rating: 3/5 My Opinion: Pretty good card, but again it depends what deck your opponent plays. However, I don't think it's going to see play, maybe in odd wrong if that somehow becomes a thing in this expansion.
Rain of Toads- Common Shaman Spell/ 6 Mana, Summon three 2/4 toads with Taunt. Overload: (3). Rating: 1.5/5 My Opinion: I don't think this card will be played at all, for the main reason that Feral Spirits exists. Its much better value for much lower cost.
Baited Arrow- Common Hunter Spell/5 Mana/ Deal 3 damage. Overkill: Summon a 5/5 Devilsaur. Rating: 2.5/5 My Opinion: A pretty good card only if you can get the Overkill off. If not then it's basically a Kill Command for two more mana. But with the Overkill, it becomes a 3 damage and a 5/5 body, which I think is decently worth it for 5 mana.
Springpaw- Common Hunter Minion/1 Mana 1/1, Rush Battlecry: Add a 1/1 Lynx with Rush to your hand. Rating: 5/5 My Opinion: Really good card, like Mecharoo but with rush and a beast, which has a lot of synergies in the hunter class. It also gives you the token card of a second 1/1 with rush, which has good synergies with cards like Dire Frenzy. Overall, I think this card will be played in most hunter decks that incorporate minions.
Savage Striker- Common Druid Minion/2 Mana 2/3, Battlecry: Deal damage to an enemy minion equal to your hero's attack. Rating:2/5 My Opinion: On one hand, a pretty solid 2 drop, that has a chance of dealing minor damage, on the other hand, a card that deals like 4 damage for the price of 5 mana. I can see it getting some play, but overall not too much because druid is more of a ramp class than a minion playing class.
Void Contract (THANOS IS A CARD GUYS)- Epic Warlock Spell/8 mana/Destroy half of each players decks. Rating: 4/5 My Opinion: This card just made Mecha'thun warlock a lot stronger. Provided you need to draw Mecha'thun, Cataclysm and Bloodbloom. However, being able to cut your deck, and your opponents in half can not only destroy win conditions, but it can also fulfill your own. The downfall is definitely that if this card is one of the last cards in your deck it can be really disruptive to your victory. However, I think people will get reallll creative with this card.
Immortal Prelate- Epic Paladin Minion/2 mana 1/3, Deathrattle: Shuffle this into your deck. It keeps any enchantments. Rate: 3/5 My Opinion: It's clear this is basically Kingsbane minion version for Paladin which is pretty good since kingsbane has had decks made of it. However Immortal Prelate isn't as reliable as kingsbane, with the fact that it is extremely vulnerable to silence cards or transformation cards like Hex or Polymorph, However if you can bypass these cards it has a chance with cards like Blessing of Kings, which makes it an easy repeatable 1 mana 5/7. However, it's just way too vulnerable to be meta breaking.
Surrender To Madness- Epic Priest Spell/3 mana, Destroy 3 of your mana crystals. Give all minions in your deck +2/+2. Rating: 4/5 My Opinion: Oh god and we thought keleseth was gone. This is a really good priest card no doubt, and it might lead to aggro priest becoming a thing if the future cards support it. Really though I could see a priest deck were you Surrender To Madness twice, and let the one drops work. However, I don't know if you'll be able to cast this without it affecting you too badly. I feel like it has to be a 1-3 drop heavy deck to have the value of putting yourself potentially 6 mana crystals behind your opponent. It is extremely good though, and no doubt people will experiment with it.
Hir'eek, The Bat- Legendary Warlock Minion/8 mana 1/1, Battlecry: Fill your board with copies of this minion. Rating: 1.5/5 My Opinion: First Dr. Morrigan and now this. Hir'eek is not too good of a card, and requires way too many combos to be a warlock card. The only two standard card that actually buffs Hir'eek is Soul Infusion, and Spirit of the bat, which is just sole RNG, Hir'eek is just a card that isn't so good, and I don't see it ever getting played not for fun.
Spirit of the Bat- Rare Warlock Minion/2 mana 0/3, Stealth for one turn. After a minion of yours dies, give a minion in your hand 1+/1+. Rating: 2/5 My Opinion: I can see some warlock decks making this work, however, I think it just doesn't work in the current meta. The only way I see Spirit of the Bat getting incorporated is when a player knows they'll be doing a lot of trading and can get value, instead of it being a dead 2 drop. It also only counts for your minions, so you need to give up a decently sized board to have some value. But it isn't impossible to work with.
Spirit of the Shark- Rare Rogue Minion/4 Mana 0/3, Stealth for one turn. Your minion's Battlecries and Combos triggers twice. Rating: 4/5 My Opinion: It's a rare Brann Bronzebeard, that also counts for combos? well, that's pretty good. This card has so many synergies its insane, it buffs the Pogo-Hopper deck, makes Edwin VanCleef super overpowered. It's overall a pretty good card for rogue, and I definitely see it seeing play in the future.
Shirvallah, the Tiger- Legendary Paladin Minion/25 mana 7/5, Divine Shield/Rush/Lifesteal Cost (1) less for each mana you've spent on spells. Rating: 3.5/5 My Opinion: A pretty good card that pairs well with Immortal Prelate, maybe leading to a Spell Paladin deck, however in the current meta most paladin decks rely on minions and use spells to buff instead of relying on them to clear. However, if Spell Paladin does become a thing a 0 mana Shirvallah would be incredibly strong, this card will either get stronger or weaker with the rest of the set's release.
Sharkfin Fan- Common Neutral Minion/2 mana 2/2, After your hero attacks summon a 1/1 pirate. Rating: 1.5/5 My Opinion: It's pretty clear no one's going to use this and that it was mostly put in for the event. However, it does actually pair with Cannon Barrage, but it would really only fit in classes that usually use weapons like Rogue and Warrior.
Sul'thraze- Epic Warrior Weapon/ 6 mana 4/4, Overkill: You may attack again. Rating: 3/5 My Opinion: If there's a board with minions its basically infinite windfury, and that's pretty good. But there has to be a board of at least 3 minions, with 3 or less health, and near a playable turn for this weapon, it isn't impossible but not usual that you would get a perfect board like that. However, it still is a 4/4 for 6 and does pair with Sharkfin fan, but I don't think it would replace your standard Fiery War Axe any time soon.
OVERALL: Some interesting cards. I see Void Contract being very strong and Surrender to Madness being very strong also. I'd say the legendaries however aren't too incredibly strong, but it is only the first drop so it's not like there's too much to expect.
same fan based garbage this game is known for...Blizzard laughs at the fans and bends them over. This offers nothing new to the game except the same old $hit. Nothing new here The whining about the op card will begin 2 hours after release. The sad fact that the fans bend over is quite intriguing and sad at the same time. Enjoy your polished garbage

Damn, someone's salty.
Anyways, as for your ratings... it's literally one fucking day after they revealed the cards. Personally I think that Sprit of the bat and Hizzarak show a lot of potential, especially if other cards in the warlock set are related to hand buffing. I mean does nobody see the true potential with this guy? I'm serious, this is in no way another doctor morrigan - even if it gets only one buff, it's a fucking 14/14 for 8 on an empty board. This is ridiculous. Call me an optimist, but I love these cards and the flavor of this expansion.
There is no Aggro Priest that could possibly make Surrender to Madness work. When played on curve, not only are you doing nothing for your turn, but you are sacrificing 24 mana over the course of the next 9 turns. The buffs don’t even come close to compensating for this.

To be fair, they might drop more cards to make agro priest work. we already have Lightwarden and Happy Ghoul, and seeing the priest Loa and it's troll having to do with the undead, I can see them dropping aggro priest cards.

I'll prolly do a summary review when every card is dropped about which cards and combos I think will work
Anyways, It's just too much combo to deal with honestly. The only way I can see this working is if you run Zoolock and just keep Hir'eek as the big game finisher, which is pointless with cards like Doomguard and Leeroy Jenkins. You need to actually play all your cards until Hir'eek is at the left of your hand, then you can consider playing it. Also, a board of 2/2's is not hard to clear. Anyways, to get actual value id say the least you'd put in is two Soul Infusions at least then you can get an 8 mana Dragoncaller Alanna.
We have to see what other warlock cards drop to see if there hand/deck buffing cards then we can consider hir'eek to be strong, but currently it really just doesn't fit the Warlock class.
Who rates these cards out of context? Only way to really know a cards potential is to see the whole set. Even then most will say try them out before making any conclusions.

Very good point. But you can still do an early review knowing it will be unreliable, just taking at stab at how it will turn out.

They need to release something like 0 manas 1/1, if you play Surrender to Madness put this minion from your deck to your hand to this card see play, anything less the drawback is huge for any future bonus.
