The hero power costs 2 mana, but the Silver Hand Recruit it summons does not (so does all the shaman totems). I'd say the one drops are better than the recruits, but I on't think you can run them for the sole purpose of recombobulating your recruits. Maybe in a deck with more synergies though.
The violet teacher's Violet Apprentice costs 0 mana. You'd only be getting wisps.
If the combo doesn't work then that really sucks lol. It would of been sick. I would like to see a change from Blizzard to change the mana to replay the totem and 1/1 pally drops to be a 2 mana replay from your hand as a card just to make it work.

Thats kinda stupid. Ur not gona run in your deck Recombobulator to get one free 2drop ... so there is no point of making totems or recruits to be 2mana from hand. Yes it sounds awesome when u think about it but in reality it is bs.
Question: Does "combo" on Edwin VanCleef count as "battlecry"? I think it does but if not, then it would be nice when Recombobulator on 3drop would bring him into play and buffed him for every card played that turn :) I guess it could be tested via Edwin+29spells and kill Deathlord.

Cards that are summoned by the effects of other cards do not trigger their battlecries. Those only happen when they are played from hand. All combo effects do count as a battlecry fyi

First thought is that you could use this card to heal up an almost dead card - and of course, using it on a Deathrattle minion is bonus.
So, you trade with your Sylvanas, no she's 5/1 - then you use this on it - now you steal a card and get a brand new 6 cost minion. Seems like its situational, but really good potential.
it will work like polymorph or hex. Transforming, not killing your sylvanas.
Hey, would this guy be good in Paladin by using this on a Silver Hand Recruit?
I'd consider almost every 1 drop better than a silver hand recruit, so yes. I would rather use it on a different minion and just have the recruits to fall back on since it's a lot more value later on.
I am not sure if this has been said before but I feel like this card could see some play in handlock. Now I know that sounds kinda crazy at first but hear me out. in most handlock decks there are 5-6 great targets for this card namely Defender of Argus, Mountain Giant and molten giant. the Defender of Argus is kinda obvious so I wont really discuss why its a great target.
The giants are slightly less obvious. Molten Giant is the only cards in the game that cost 20 mana and Mountain Giant is the only card that costs 12 mana. So when you target a damaged giant you get a brand new and fully restored one every single time (this lack of rng makes them really great for competitive decks). the owl is also a good raget for this guy btw. So I think I will take out a Earthen Ring Farseer for a Recombobulator when the expension comes out.
I think, this and the Shrinkmeister will buff Shadow Madness to have 2 copies in each Priest, just imagine your opponent playing a Sylvanas on Turn 6, then you can Shrinkmeister it, Shadow Madness, kill some random minion with it and then use the Recombolator on Sylvanas. So in the end with this combo, you get a random 6 Mana minion, an enemy minion and 2 3/2s with other synergies as well. I think this card has huge potential in priest and handlock of course.
Also, Shrinkmeister + shadow madness + recombobulator is 8 mana, not 6 XD
In arena I'd pick it before many other epics, it can really offer some great value.
In constructed it offers amazing synergy mostly with shadow madness, so at 6 mana a Priest could have LET ME CHANGE YOUR MIND or Sylvanas or Shadow Madness + Recombobiiulbla.
Shrinkmaster + Shadow Madness on a fat legendary + Recomblzilla into something even fatter will probably be featured on Hearth Trolden soon.

Turn 9: Gorehowl
Turn 10: Alexstrasza on opponent, The Coin, Recombobulator and get King Krush for 8 + 7 (gorehowl) damage and the win

The Nerub'ar Weblord doesn't consider combo battlecries though.
I believe it's the same as the "Choose One" mechanic, meaning that the combo would not proc from this trigger. So Doomlord is correct.

Combo is not a battlecry.
It's a battlecry(...) that is called combo. Completely different.
Because it has a different name.
Just like the Druid battlecries.
Combo is not a Battlecry, but it also does not trigger when a card is put directly into play.
It will work like polymorph or hex. "transform" not kill.

You can turn a defender of argus into a yeti, and a silver hand knight into a spectral knight.
I'd say the risk is worth it. There are more good 4 and 5 drops than there are bad ones.

I would turn a damaged 2/1 into a Jeeves or Summoning Portal any day. The same principle applies to the 4/1 into a 3/3 or 3/2. ;)
I like this analyses.

Just played with this in Arena. Love it! Smash a minion in the mouth with yours and then recombob your guy into a new full-health minion. Great value.
