so just looking at the card spiteful summoner, dragons breath
in a deck full of random spells its kind of like ... ok this card is kind of risk reward seems balanced and fun
but then you got to realize players are not idiots and will only run this card in a deck full spells that cost 7+ all of a sudden this card becomes 7 mana summon a 4/4 and a 7 to 10 cost minion downside none same for dragonsbreath.
like it seems a no brainier that that spiteful summoner (and mechanically similarcards) should pull card discard it and then summon the appropriate costed minion? otherwise its just summon big stuff for free right?
but then you got to realize players are not idiots and will only run a single copy of every card in a Reno Jackson deck all of a sudden this card becomes a 30hp heal instead of vanilla 4/6 minion for 6.
but then you got to realize players are not idiots and will only run odd cost cards in a Baku the Mooneater deck all of a sudden you get better hero power.
seriously, you think blizzard did not expect players to build their decks around that card?
I mean, Blizzard aren't idiots either. Even in the reveal stream, they said: "We wanted to create a big spell archetype of sorts with Spiteful Summoner". Believe it or not, the dev team at Blizzard actually playtest the game. The point of the card was to give you a free minion for playing Spiteful Summoner. It forces you to build your deck around the card and limits your collection. I don't even understand the point of this post. It sounds like you just lost to a Spiteful Druid and are just salty, but you don't want to show it.
Big mage how many boardclears 1 - 3 big spells? 2x pyro, dragons breath, flamestrike, frostnova or whatrever its called deals 2 freezes everything, metior,
he deck clears every board playd and then has two more win conditions outside of spitful summoning 10 drops in frostbitch and dragoncaller
returning to the game after like 3 months and running into big mage something like 6 times before even breaking rank 20 this card is like they want their game to suck or something? baku design is just as bad as spiteful
want to argue it is balanced ? then sure whatever you win its balanced, but that crap isn't fun to play against, bring on hearthstone legacy servers

Well, if you meet same deck 6 times in a row at rank 20 at the middle of month, this means that deck is just too weak to climb higher.
