Sad but necessary. Aviana + Kun is still possible with coin/Innervate, but that combo would forever be a problem in Wild if one of the two weren't nerfed.

Yeah, honestly really glad to see this. Making it less likely to pull off the combo and slightly harder to have combo pieces. I feel like it hurts perfectly.
It was probly the right card to hit, but it's still a bit sad. Although the combo isn't that much harder to pull off though, since using Innervate or Biology Project makes it work with Kun the Forgotten King, and both those cards are playable (plus you can always Emperor Thaurissan). All this really does is slow it down, which is better than destroying it.
Not Aviana, Not Kun, (Yes they are strong indeed and if you get the RNG perfect draw, but that happens with any deck), i feel like they don't want to admit how bad design and how big of a mistake the melon is.
Anyways not much left in this game, its closer to a coinflip with every expansion.

Psychmelon no longer draws you both Aviana and Kun though. Not only does this nerf slow down the combo in that way, it makes Aviana + Kun harder to pull off since you need 1 extra mana. SAD Druid was already just a tier 2 deck, and I suspect this pushes it down even further.

There needed to be a companion nerf to one of the numerous OP druid cards to weaken these combo decks, and that didn't happen. I don't see Druid seeing any significantly less play in any format because of this, so whoopdie for the moral victory.

Which according to what you are saying, the problem is the tutoring effect of Psychmelon, not Aviana and Kun, yes this change is good, but Tutor effects over the history of HS has showed us that is a toxic mechanic.
On a side note: Druid still has limited space design because Spreading Plague and Branching Paths, both should be reworked, mana nerfs will only make them unplayable. (Both cards are like giggling inventor but Druid only, they are in every deck, which proves they are a problem).
The point is that it doesn't get pulled as the 9 for psychemelon. Combo druids were not nearly as insane as they were after the card was printed. With this nerf, it's likely they'll return to their previous powerlevel with the addition of requiring innervate to go off
I will post here part of my comment from another thread instead of typing it all out again.
In all honesty I don't think the nerf to Aviana is even enough because you can just play innervates and some of the star aligner druids were already running innervate anyway as it improves the mirror match in your favour and ye ye melon doesn't draw full combo now but druid has so much cycle by the time you wanna play the combo you'll have kun and aviana in hand by then anyways so not sure this will change an awful lot lol
I am pretty surprised it wasn't melon that got nerfed though, oh well.

it was a tier 2 deck cause all decks were geared toward beating it, get your facts right.
Discuss!

RIP Aviana, killed by a stupid melon.

She would have never been a problem if they hadn't printed Kun... RIP
Unpopular opinion: Rogue is OP

The problem has always been:
Juicy Psychmelon

You can't play it with Biology project lol.

Druid was tier 2... Huh must be a troll
Check the most recent Wild meta reports. SAD is a T2 deck. It's just over-represented.
... Patron Warrior had sub 50% WR. Raza Prest was called a tier 3 deck. Hunter somehow isnt Tier 1, despite having Rexxar. Questions?
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Lol Rexxar. No questions. GLHF
