so much for not nerfing and changing classic cards... first they screw mage over with hofing icelance and iceblock and now they nerf mana wyrm into the ground... meanwhile paladin / druid / warlock / priest / hunter classes dominate ladder interchangeably for years with the most ridiculous and unfair wombocombo shit like resurrections / cubes / recruit / deathrattle aids

Quest mage had a terrible winrate but people still reached legend with it. Also, it had a lot of good matchup (still in wild). It's about luck. Mech and secret were both cancer
True...but it used to be one of the only classes used for newbies...and probably still is...with mana wyrm not being as good, hopefully new players will see more than just mage being played.

New players are heavily pushed towards Hunter, not Mage, because of its waaaayyyyy cheaper cost. My girlfriend started playing maybe a month ago and went from 50-19 with a midranged hunter that cost about 800-1100 dust to make. Once I taught her how to play (play the cards every turn, if it glows orange put it on a beast or go face etc etc) she started just crushing with that class. I was so shocked by its success that I played Midrange Hunter yesterday from rank 8-6.

Time will tell. I am free to have my opinion and prediction, as are you.
Like I said though, it's okay if Mage isn't at the top of the HS food chain, doesn't mean Blizzard hates Mage.

How is mana wyrm not ok but keleseth into a full board of 3/3s and 4/4s ok?
One is a 1-drop that often trades with at least a 3-drop at worst, and can win the game by itself at best.
The others are threats that come out on turn 3 or later, when it's more likely you'll be able to deal with such a thing.
Mana Wyrm restricts what cheap Mage spells can be printed.
Keleseth doesn't really restrict anything besides cards that say "summon a copy of this minion."
