I think Blizzard do not want us to have an adequate defense on turn 5. First Spreading Plague gave us an effective defence on turn 5 - then it was bounced to turn 6. Now this on turn 5 has been bounced to turn 7. What the hell Blizzard. Is dying to aggro supposed to be inevitable, because it sure seems to me that you're trying to make it so. Oh and I did run one of these in my only good deck, but at 7 cost, no way. The card is dead.
So you think Spreading Plague and Giggling inventor is fine at 5 mana cost ?
Giggling isn't dead, at this time it is currently the 8th most played card in arena (in more decks than stonehill, phantom militia etc.) And as for quest rogue, it's still a 7 mana 12/12, to me that's good enough but I guess rogue players are far greedier. Now it's time for the next 5 mana 12/12 to be nerfed "Lesser Emerald Spell stone."

Actually yes I do think they were both fine. They could stop a Merloc player in their tracks, at least temporarily, and give an extra turn's breathing space. I believe that was the design-cost intention as neither of these cards are capable of a board clear on their own. Now it's much harder to get that extra turn to breathe. Bear in mind that the decks I build are homebrew control/combo decks that need to reach turn 10 to turn the tables on my opponent and being able to stall for an extra turn is a really big deal for surviving long enough to actually be in with a shot of winning. As things were I'd be on the last bit of health and might be able to scrape 2 out of 3 games as wins. Now it's turned the other way, 2 out of 3 games are losses. Turn 5 is really that important.
Edit to clarify - Before the giggling nerf my win rate was the other way around. I was also the victim of the Spreading Plague nerf, but at least I can combo it on turn 10 (used to be on turn 9) to stablise the board. Turn 7 giggling is of no use to me at all now. Just because some Legend players abuse these cards does not mean everyone else should be punished, you hear me Blizzard?
Firstly, nobody plays murlocs these days and secondly if you need two most OP cards in HS to defend against aggro then you must be doing something wrong. Even though giggling inventor is dead, spreading plague is still very good and is alone enough to stop aggro.
It's not like legend players "abused" those cards, majority of people did, so Blizzard nerfed them.
If you think it was nerfed so as to never see play again, you misunderstand the purpose of nerfs.
^^^ Yes! I don't think Team 5 anticipated their anti-aggro neutral taunt card would end up being used in almost every deck type imaginable. They probably tested it how they thought it would be used, and pre-release seemed fine. I also believe they stated that they tested it at 6 mana when they first considered a nerf, testing it the way the community was using it, and it still felt a little too strong. 7 mana is likely right where it should be to avoid making Even decks too strong, as well as still be playable as a stall later in the game (which it IS still playable).
I feel the nerf is heavy-handed, however it will still be played. I don't think I've ever thought of Giggling as a sweet turn 5 but more of an annoyance for my opponent. At 7 mana it's still just as annoying. It's probably still fine in Token Druid, too.
Plus it now has the 'nobody is running Blood Knight or Mossy Horror' buff.
Most decks I used to run GI with tend to float mana anyhow. I looked up in hsreplay the last 10 times where I played GI and in 3 out of 10 I floated 2 or more mana, and in 6 out of the remaining 7 I hero powered along with it.
So really in 90% of circumstances all I will lose out on is hero power to cover the additional mana.
Life imprisonment ....
Can’t wait to evolve or summon a 7 cost minion and get a 2/1 body. This card got destroyed big time.
A lot of talk about the evolve or summon 7 cost minion stuff. And thats true, all you will get is a shitty 2/1 body with nothing.
Perhaps they could have done something like 7/7 and "Battlecry: Reduce this minions attack and health by 5".
That way when it's evolved or summoned, at least you will get something half ok.
Rusty Recycler
Ironic. It could recycle others, but not itself.
When does the window close on the full dust value?
Have 2 free arena tickets, could be nice to open a giggling in one of those packs.

for otk paladin, 7 mana for 4 attack face protect, i think its still playable.

I guess Blizzard forgot about Mossy Horror. This card got destroyed by that every time.

Despite the nerf this card still won me two games in arena this morning as it protected my board.
Still coming up against it in standard

I'm going to put it back into some of my decks.
