Why don't we change the Shadowstep's cost to 1 mana?
Just like Hex. Devs nerfed it then it's cost balanced to Polymorph's cost.
Innervate has nerfed, it gives you 1 mana just like Counterfeit Coin.
But Shadowstep, it gives you reduce the minion's cost, 2 mana cheating, and you take it to your hand without any disadvantage (0 cost).
Ok there is a card which reduce the cost of card, Primordial Glyph, 2 mana spell discover and reduce the discovered spell's cost.
But you need 2 mana to play it first! You can't play it turn one or you cant play it when you dont enough mana. Even you dont like the spells you have already spent your mana. You cant take it back. But with shadowstep you banish the card you want.
Quest Rogue unavoidable plays:
Novice + shadowstep in turn 2.
Glacial Shard + shadowstep
I dont wanna write them all but they are drawing tons of cards and mana cheating with shadowstep and preparation! Also making quest with them.
Sonya Shadowdancer + Boar = Clearing the board
Infinite minions= Valeera the Hollow + Zola the gorgon = Cant beaten with control decks.
Cant beaten with Midrange decks - Quest and Hellooo!
There is only a small chance to win, you should play super agroo/zoo decks or token. And hope Quest Rogue dont make his quest in turn 4-5 with preparation, shadowstep combos and you have a perfect starting hand to play full face.
I am not saying lets make Quest Rogue unplayable. If i want, i rather say lets nerf preparation.
I am just saying it is too UNAVOIDABLE! It needs to generally nerfed with 1 mana nerf.
With that you cant make novice+shadowstep in turn 2. You cant play the card when you dont have enough mana. The most IMPORTANTLY with these change your opponent can play SKULKING GEIST to deal with you.
Many decks dont contain enough tools to play around the Quest Rogue. Skulking Geist is a neutral KFT card and for long game. It will move to wild with next expansions. This nerf can be a short-term cure for ladder.
Are you really complaining about Quest Rogue or are you complaining about Shadowstep? Shadowstep is fine. It allows one to save a card and/or use a card's battlecry more than once.
Primordial Glyph is a completely different spell because it allows you get to Discover a spell and reduce it by 2 (which can make a spell free to cast if the spell is cheaper than 2).
The best day to deal with Quest Rogue is to nerf the Quest itself, not nerfing Shadowstep or Preparation or Sonya. If it isn't Shadowstep, there are the brewmasters as well as Zola to bounce cards too and we can't nerf them all to make an unbalanced Quest more balanced. None likes Quest Rogue and we all want it nerfed to hell
So your argument for this is that some cards where nerfed to be on the same powerlevel of some other cards that have kinda the same effect (or exactly the same) and then your argument for nerfing Shadowstep is comparing it to a card like Primordial Glyph? That card has nothing to do with step, 2 completely different effects, the only similarity is the cost reduction but they are not comparable by any means, if you gonna cry about a card at least try to get a semi-convincing argument to back yourself up lol.
Shadowstep is not busted at all, it's an ok card that happens to be pretty good cause of The Caverns Below which is on like the top 3 of worst designed cards ever, same with Sonya, she doesn't even see play in any other rogue archetype but the quest makes her powerlevel way above the curve.
To be honest I've never been crazy about zero mana spells. Unless they overload. But the game isn't tailored to my liking. It's fine as is for me though. Rogue needs stuff like this to fight. It doesn't have certain tools other classes have. It's how it gets ahead.
Can we please stop trying to cripple every card rogue uses just so that Quest Rogue is weakened a little bit.
I actually like using Shadowstep in wild because it allows me to attempt to compete in the value game when using it on N'Zoth in my N'Zoth rogue vs warlock's N'Zoth and Gul'Dan boards (protecting at least one board from an auto nether play).
This would be a great opportunity for the new Team 5 to throw Benny Boy and his ilk under the bus. They could delete the card and blame its failure on the employees who bolted to form their own studio. Hell, there are some other old garbage cards they could shitcan while they are at it like Spreading Plague and Explosive Runes.

Shadowstep isn't a broken card and is not used in a lot of rogue decks. Sure, it grants a lot of value with the right cards but without the right card at the right moment is pretty useless. The problem is the Quest, is a design failure.
Shadowstep is not without any disadvantage. It costs a card and tempo and this is the reason it was only played as a combo finisher with leeroy before quest rogue.
This thread is just another complaint about quest rogue and should've been added to the salt thread...
if you think they're that broken, why aren't you playing wild where you can have in your deck ACTUAL NEGATIVE COST spells like Counterfeit Coin. Dude, cards in HS cost more then mana
I've said it before and still feel strongly about it, I've played a ton of rogue and I wish shadowstep and preparation were hall of famed just to open up design space for rogue.
Ok guys... I know it sounds kinda crazy.

What do you think about it, let me know.

Sure, let’s delete rogues identity. Why don’t we add a Amanda cost to all the combo prices while we’re at it since they are “unfair” as well.

If you want to beat down quest rogues, just play an aggro deck like odd rogue or zoolock and you will get free win

Although i have an issue with a game mechanic that costs nothing , ie everything should cost mana its to big a nerf to edwin and combo pieces so no.
No card except Coin should be 0 mana.
AHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA
Really?
Now people complain about FAIR cards?
Shadowstep isn't a broken card and is not used in a lot of rogue decks. Sure, it grants a lot of value with the right cards but without the right card at the right moment is pretty useless.

This!!
0 Mana spells are HORRIBLE DESIGN.
Unless they draw Vicious Scalehide.
Try again.

Cards that really need nerf: Branching Paths,Prince Keleseth,Giggling Inventor
shadowstep it's fine
caverns below it's broken AF, they should delete that abomination from the game
Yo, vuvuzela, do not make those funny sounds. And you are wrong, Coin should be nerfed and cost 2 mana.
