So I wanna make a odd deck. But I can't decide between Darius or Azalina. Which I've read that she sits in ur hands most of the time and counters a couple decks. I see Kibler playing it quite a bit though. Any thoughts? thanks.
I own her and I don't run her. I've taken the deck to legend and went 12-2 in the Brawl and I've won all of the mirror matches I've encountered so far (when do people learn that you're not supposed to draw in the mirror?).
My deck is quite different though. I don't run Boom (I own him too) or Mega Assembly. I find both to be extremely overrated. Why would you give up Tank Up for something that could possibly be worse and even spend a card on it? And why would you run a card that the majority of the time gives you something that have close to 0 impact on turn 10 (sooo many insignificant mechs in the pool)? Whenever someone plays Boom on turn 7, I know it's gonna be an easy matchup. Tank Up is so much better in fatigue. Instead I run King Mosh, Elise + Zola and Ysera as my late game advantage. I'm open to the idea that I might be wrong, since so many seem to agree on the build and maybe it's my previous experience with fatigue warrior that carries me.
Anyway, in some scenarios I wish I had access to her, but I don't think she's crucial. Neither is Darius btw. I do find him more useful though. Mostly because you at least want 2 minions to fetch with Town Crier. I guess you could run Rapid Worgen instead but that's a significant downgrade.
I run Azalina and I don't regret it for my last games versus Toggwald or Kingsbane, both matchup were won easily. Normally, you play her for those control matchup. As Odd warrior is designed specifically for anti aggro, you will not play her most of the time (90%)... Not super needed I would say... Nice to have...
I've included her in an Odd Quest and Odd CW, and you are correct she does just sit in your hand most games, very hard to get good use out of her. I can only recall playing her once out of from rank 15 to 9 last season and even then she was meh. Not sure what deck it's supposed to "counter" but I don't think she is necessary for the deck, it's in the deck for potential refill and can potentially swing the tides of a game but like I said it's very rare for that to happen.
I'd say Darrius is a better choice, at least it does something.
I think Azalina is overrated in odd warrior for the average player. She's a great card that can win games if used properly, but that's a huge "if". This card probably generates the most missplays on both sides in hearthstone history, even at top ranks. She's pretty garbage if you don't know when to play her and what to do with the resulting hand. People can call her a "counter" to Togwaggle or other combos all they like. You will still lose if you just jam it in there without researching the matchup extensively
So don't blindly include her in decks just because your netdeck or streamers tell you to. For most people, it's probably best not to bother at all and if you don't have the card to begin with, then problem solved
As for Darius, he's pretty rare in odd warrior. There are better cards out there for the deck

Sounds great, unfortunately I am missing 4 legendaries for it. (Quite expensive)
The goal of all life is death.

The only real reason to run azalina is to counter shudder but you cant even do that without Bring it On which is an even card

You only need her vs combo decks (the kobold in druid AND antonidas), if you don't you will lose. :)
And when you play vs control and you have less cards in your hand (with no cards in the deck)
