Rumors have been circulating that another nerf to Gadgetzan Auctioneer is coming, and that rather than drawing a card on spell cast he will now heal your hero instead. I personally think his mechanic is a lot of fun now that Loatheb and changes to Leeroy have balanced miracle. I assume if they make the change it is because more low-cost spells are coming, but I think they should leave it alone until the community has time to determine if it is OP. What do you think?
I don't think this nerf is necessary, it's only "exploit" is miracle rouge, and it's mostly a dead archetype. I think it's fine as is, but that's just my two cents.
I think it definitely needs a nerf. While it's true that rogue is the only class that can abuse it significantly at the moment, it inhibits the design space for blizzard when developing new cards. Instead of adding new low cost spells, they may be unable to because the interaction with auctioneer could be too strong.
Miracle rogue is my favorite deck and it will be a sad day to see it go, but the amount of cycling because of auctioneer is something that should've been fixed a long time ago. It creates a level of variance MUCH lower than the other classes, which isn't fair. Warlock's hero power also diminishes variance, which is why it makes it one of the strongest classes as well.
I think the heal effect will create a new type of rogue that would be fun! Imagine getting to <10 health, dropping 2 molten giants, dropping auctioneer, and then healing back to full!
I think a good nerf would be that they can't drop more then 4 cards with auctioneer in 1 turn If they did another spell after 4 cards draw, they take 5 damage instead
I think it's so OP when they draw like 10 cards in one turn. But 4 cards is fine, And they have to watch to not cast more then 4 spells. If they dont wanna take damage
Until you post your source for this rumor, no one can really agree with this. Miracle has been nerfed a lot indirectly with the introduction of Naxx and the nerf to Leeroy. IN ADDITION, Blizzard is getting hypocritical when they say they don't want to nerf the current set of cards and much rather introduce new cards to "balance". Miracle rogue is my favorite deck so I am biased, but it is also one of the most unique deck archetypes as well.
If I wanted to play zoo/tempo and trade minions all day, I would play Hunter or Warlock. If Blizzard keeps nerfing the creativity of certain decks, there is no point in introducing new card mechanics when at the end of the day, Blizzard just wants you to play tempo every game.
I think it's fine. I wish that a separate card (legendary maybe?) would have that effect of healing yourself on spells. Could make a tempo weapon rogue very interesting, but it could almost be broken haha.
Either way, Gadgetzan is fine as is.

I think this would be a horrible 'nerf' in part because it wouldn't really be a nerf.
With all the 0 and 1 power spells it would be easy to heal 16pts in one turn and would also turn the coin into a free 4 heal. The priests hero power would look puny in comparison.
Remove hunter and doomguard first, then consider changes to gadgetzan.
I'm sensing the words of a n00b... Hunter and all archetypes that Doomguard (Zoo) and Gadgetzan (Miracle) are used in are easily counterable I.E. Zoo and tempo Priest are good against Hunter, Midrange Shaman and Death-Pally for Zoo and almost any aggro deck for Miracle Rouge.
If Auctioneer is nerfed, they are effectively removing the Rogue class from Hearthstone. I would hope Blizzard would think twice before doing something like this.

It would be coming along with the expansion, which would be bringing new rogue cards and possible new archetype. Currently there is nothing wrong with the auctioneer, but the new cards might change that. We will see that.
If they implement the healing thing, auctioneer will be probably a shaman card as this addresses one of shaman's weaknesses.
There's absolutely no need to nerf Gadgetzan Auctioneer. It's a balanced card as it is, and it does not prevent Blizzard from releasing anything at all. Card draw is only as good as the cards that you draw into, and if you want to build a deck around drawing lots of cards off Gadgetzan Auctioneer, you need to fill your deck with cheap spells (read: weak cards) and other card draw mechanics (read: weak cards) to cycle through your low mana curve and draw into the Gadgetzans. Now you've achieved superb card draw, but most of it is just cycling through trash. Meanwhile you're left with only about half of your deck to constitute a win condition and enough board presence to survive up until you get it.
Now, there are a few reasons why Rogues can pull this off. Prep is crucial; it allows Rogues to really milk their Gadgetzans to the fullest in a turn, as well as allowing them very powerful combos in one turn. Druids could rival this somewhat with Innervate, but other classes lack anything comparable. Conceal is very important too; because the win condition usually centres around a few key cards, being able to avoid removal or minion combat for one turn is invaluable. Rogues also have weapons for some efficient removal, and a lot of effective cheap spells. Even if Blizzard releases more good, cheap spells for other classes, they're still very unlikely to pull off a quite consistent deck focusing around Gadgetzan and a few card combo for a win condition without cards like Prep or Conceal.
I think Auctioneer is fine. What worries me more is blade flurry. That card really forces you to not try to build up a big board, but if you hold on to cards, you will not be able to put pressure on him and he will easily run you down. Tough situation.

where did you see these rumors? PS I only think he is broken in miracle rogue. In other classes, he seems fine.
I played Hunter before it was cool.

You can't remove a class. Balance, yes, but removing no.
i don't think so.
with cards like loatheb and spectral knight. and all the deathrattle decks that puts a lot of pressure on miracle rogues early on.
also, it's not like if you draw auchtioneer, you win the game, it also depends on the drawing...

Pretty stupid
Soulfire, Doomguard or explosive trap would be better candidates for a nerf.
Wait, what? Gadgetzan Auctioneer isn't a Rogue card? >.>
