I guess what I'm asking is if Reckless Experimenter's is applied to played minions as a buff, or if it's just a passive effect.
If it is just a passive effect, would that mean that if the Reckless Experimenter dies, the deathrattle cards played would not die at the end of the turn? If not that and if not an applied buff, then that would mean this minion's interactions are completely unique.
When you put a Deathrattle minion into play with the Experimenter, the minion gains a Triggered Buff. So even if the Experimenter leaves play, or if you copy it, the buff remains and can be copied. Take a look at Toast's video around 1:34 and you'll see the Triggered Buff apply to the Cube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G2IQv09Tydg
I wonder if it works the same with deathrattle magnetic cards. So when attaching a mech with deathrattle to another mech does the combined mech die?
I think that if the mech you play at first does not have deathrattle, and gets the deathrattle effect after you play the magnetic minion on it. The combined minion survives since you are only buffing the first one you play, I guess magnetic interaction works as if they were spells.

That's what I hope as well because that would make magnetic minions with experimenter on the board a whole lot better to cheaply boost some exsisting stuff. I'm certainly going to try it out on release.
The big problem is that Reckless Experimenter's text doesn't really do a good job of clarifying the timing of its effect, since it doesn't say "whenever" OR "after." If it acts like a "whenever" effect, it should work with Deathrattle Magnetic minions, since the enchantments on the magnetic minion would carry over to the base minion. If it acts like an "after" effect then it wouldn't, since the Magnetic minion would no longer technically exist when Experimenter's effect triggers.

How exactly does the Reckless Experimenter's effect work? For example, if I were to play a Devilsaur Egg with Reckless Experimenter on the board, then copied the egg with either Vivid Nightmare or Mirage Caller, would the copy still die at the end of the turn?

Awesome! Thanks!
Now I'm excited to built a (probably bad) Egg Priest
