The value is amazing but what about the tempo loss. We all know how good Frost Lich Jaina is but you at least get a water elemental and armor the turn that you play it. The Jaina turn is typically a turn where you are far enough ahead to afford the tempo loss or you need to play Jaina now to have a chance to win. The effect of this new card is incredible no doubt, but it may be tricky to actually play it. I feel like you also need to be lucky enough to draw a big minion the very next turn after playing this and play the big minion for one mana.
This + Stargazer Luna = your minions cost 1-mana and you can chain top-decked minions to flood the board. It's even faster than Aluneth immediately and doesn't kill you in fatigue.
I love how Aluneth curves perfectly into this, and that the effects of these cards go so well together!
That said, paying 7 mana for an effect with no immediate payoff is a risky move, and the aforementioned combo with Aluneth is not something that can be triggered reliably, since there's only 1 of each card. If nothing else, I'm glad that Blizzard is continuing to try and make minion-heavy Mage decks work, and hope the community can use cards like this to make new, unexpected deck types.
I feel like this will be solid but maybe not as good or not in the way some people are thinking. I don't think combo is the way to go. I've seen alex and maly mentioned but there cost is too high to baleful banker reliably, and they're one offs so if you draw them then there is no combo.
I'm thinking this just goes in a minion heavy value deck. Book of specters becomes a call to arms with no cap on minion cost, stargazer luna would let you literally fill your board with minions of any cost. With ravens and/or grand activist you could somewhat reliably have this in the late game, the question is how do you build the deck so you survive to the late game and wont have a lot of dead cards early.
Only one of those needs to be hit with the effect add in the exodia combo and a baleful to reshuffle Antonidas you give yourself multiple win conditions make the rest of the deck stall and draw and it can be rather reliable.
if you play aluneth on turn 6, and then this on turn 7,you only draw 3 cards extra, which is nice, and it allows for some insane tempo, with aggro like plays with control minions
First of all, I just wanna say that the reveal video for this card was so amazing that it reinvigorated my love for this game. Mage is my most favorite hero and they gave justice to not only her as a hero but gave her a card that I find so interesting.
I'm definitely going to craft this golden, it probably has a really cool animation too like Twisting Nether. Seems like a good fit in Kibler's Elemental Mage, the deck has lots of beefy minions and Book of Specters to draw the minions from your deck..this also remedies the problem of having a big hand size too often as the deck tends to generate alot of stuff and card draw, but with this you can just dump your hand of stuff then reload with card draw, you could probably convincingly play a board full of minions every single turn after playing this.
It might also be worth putting it in a Big Mage shell along with Antonidos or Malygos and Baleful Banker as a win condition, might go a step further and add the apprentices and Molten Reflection but that might water down the deck too much and a dedicated OTK mage just won't work in standard, and in wild there are better ways to pull it off.
People still living the combo dream when you can't guarantee drawing this before yoir combo pieces smh.
It doesn't work in tempo either. The card requires too many big minions which would screw early game consistency/you'd run too many early game cards which would not benefit enoigh from the card, it needs crazy cycle otherwise you're still playing 1 card per turn (Aluneth, but again terrible for a tempo deck)...

Doing nothing on turn 6, followed by doing nothing on turn 7, is the exact opposite of insane tempo.

Anger is the punishment we give ourselves for someone else's mistake.
Exodia mage will not work in standard even with this. Even without this card, we didn't see any exodia deck because mage still needs a lot of support cards, and we didn't see that in Boomsday. Ever since Ice Block rotated out, the deck became impossible to play.
Don't count this card out just yet. Atm is the time in the meta just after release where aggro reigns supreme... even Shudderwocks have disappeared because they can't outpace Zoolocks and other swarming decks. It happens every expansion, it takes time for combo/control decks to be refined enough to fight back, and I do think big mage with LPG will have a place somewhere.

First rough draft. adding this and just Tony makes this deck devastating

Very much simmilar to barnabus. Don't have to go through quest but you do have to pay a lot. Very hard to guage weather this card is good or not.
You could play this in an elemental mage and play aluneth and the new 3 mana 2/4 while you're at it and just out thempo the shit out of them
Carpe Diem - Seize the day
I'd say that Luna's Pocket Galaxy can work well in a questless otk mage: turn 10 Luna's Pocket Galaxy + Frost Nova can keep the board in check; it'd be amazing to discount 6 from Tony, but even discounting one or both Apprentices (or Zola the Gorgon or Leyline Manipulator) can make a huge difference.
Nice

You all understand that Skulking Geist will delete your deck after you play this.
Nope, only minions are affected and Geist only remove spells.
No, Skulking hits spells only not minions, which is what this hits. Also, Skulking goes off of original costs and not the changed costs.

In case anyone else has not seen, I did draw this card with Primordial Glyph...
54.3% votes for meta-defining for card that can't be used in any deck. Nice.
