Overall, I like it, but the Ooze and the Spellbreaker are very meta-dependent. That will most-likely be similar to the deck that people run if the mechanical Old God proves viable. Nice work. :)
Don't forget, Hemet, Jungle Hunter is 6 mana. He could fit in this deck as well to help blast through the rest of your cards once you have the combo pieces in hand.
Quick question. When you use Cataclysm will it destroy Mecha'thun first, and then discard your hand (in which case, the condition might not trigger), or is it the other way around? Based on the order of effects on the text, it appears that Cataclysm will destroy minions first, before discarding your hand.
The way it SHOULD work is that the minion is "destroyed", the hand is discarded, cataclysm resolves, AND THEN the deathrattle to the mechathun will be triggered. Since after the minion is destroyed the spell has not fully resolved yet, the hand would have to be discarded before the deathrattle would trigger.
Won my first game of the new expansion in true Boomsday fashion. May never get another OTK Mecha'thun win for as long as I play this game, but this one win was worth the entire craft.
Mecha’thun has killed any enjoyment I had for the game. It’s broken. Beyond broken.
This card is defining the meta. All those cool and interesting Magnetic cards don’t matter because Mecha’thun exists. All the decks in this set are designed all around playing with Mecha’thun, or trying to counter Mecha’thun, like how the Smash Bros Brawl meta was all about Meta Knight.
And the sad thing is, there is no reliable counter to Mecha’thun, and many have tried. Can’t use aggro as the Mecha’thun decks can heal and armor themselves up to unkillable levels. Can’t use Skulking Geist as the Mecha’thun decks have found ways to trigger the deathrattle without 1 mana spells. The only thing you can do is play as Mecha’thun deck yourself and try to outrace your opponent, effectively turning the game into a coinflip. This is not fun. This is not engaging.
What makes me even more angry is the fact ActiBlizz hve come out many times in the past and say how they are completely opposed to OTK decks, yet they design a minion who’s literal card text is win the game. People are suggesting nerf the Druid cards, but the Druid cards are a problem in general and doesn’t fix the Mecha’thun problem, as Priests and Warlocks also have successful OTK‘thun decks. For the sake of the game, Mecha’thun needs to have its deathrattle completely changed, plain and simple. It’s too easy to pull off.

Mecha'thun isn't very good though, from what we've seen so far?
And you can't judge the meta yet. Give it a few more days. I'm not saying it won't be broken, but I'm saying it isn't at the moment and very well might not be.

It's Tier 2 according to HSReplays. (Now I'm not one for going off of tier lists, I even make fun of tier lists, but the amount of success this card is generating is a problem) People are having to go Odd Paladin to be Aggro just to have a fighting chance. Hell, Warlocks are even running Demonic Project just to destroy that Mecha'thun. Everyone is playing around this one card alone.

You don't want demonic project in your deck if you're also playing a combo deck.
Anger is the punishment we give ourselves for someone else's mistake.
I'll give it a try in druid. Stall out and use weapon to get machathun/ deathwing once your deck is depleted.
Don't forget, Hemet, Jungle Hunter is 6 mana. He could fit in this deck as well to help blast through the rest of your cards once you have the combo pieces in hand.
Rogue: Wait until this is in hand->MUE->Play remaining cards->Play Mecha-Thun = Profit
If Monday had a face, I'd punch it.....
I really like this card. I just hope the OTK is better than the Pala

Always Hunters. Always Huffers.

So, did someone test it.
If I'm wielding a weapon, can the effect trigger?
nvm I found it https://hearthstone.gamepedia.com/Mecha'thun#Notes
Yup weapons dont count for his battlecry, does secrets count?
this card is actually very annoying in standard.
does mechathun activate even if skull of the manari is on the field?

"Defining the meta" for decks with 40-47% win rate while Zoolock, Odd Rogue and Odd Paladin hover 60% win rate.

I think it is pointless to complain when there is a card like Shudderwock

This card is the death of control decks.
To be Fair it was announced before Galvanizer, which created allot more potential for it.
