It's not a bad card. Sure the overload may be too punishing, but don't forget that Lost in the Jungle also exists and the rush part makes it a bit more expensive. Shaman can utilize the tokens w/ Flametongue Totem. So there are some synergies.
Will this make the cut? Probably not, because it has an Overload, but imho the card is decent.
Inb4 I have a weird feeling, that we will see a card, which generates this spell. Just like Flame Geyser could be generated from Steam Surger, I think we might see something similar in the next expansion.
Should of been charge instead of rush. or remove the overload and keep it rush. A new charge card for shaman would of made this 1000% more interesting and cool/unique. but apparently blizzard is F.U.C.K.I.N.G. R.E.T.A.R.D.E.D.
no, it shouldn't be charge ever, if it was charg eit should be 5 mana just to make it unplayable because charge is broken. also 2/2 stats is already a 1 drop like Enchanted Raven so it gets the overload 1 because it gets a keyword with jumps this to a 2 drop, no 2/2 with rush would ever be a 1 drop, so the cost is fine, plus youa re supposed to play this card after you have a flametongue totem on the board, not before
I think the overload kills it, then again I could be wrong, when you think of combo'ing this with something like flametongue or dire wolf alpha it doesn't seem too bad.

Very good card. Seems like a lot of people under value it so far. Lots of potential in shaman.1 mana, 2 buffable pings. This is very good for board control. I don't understand the hate that I see for it. Overload hurts a bit but I think would be too strong w/o it.
You're probably right (Turn 1 Voltaic, turn 2 Flametongue), but I think with overload it's too weak. It's in an unfortunate 1.5 mana spot imo.
Turn 2 Flametongue? How? Unless you have coin you can't play flametongue on turn 2. Problem with the card, it will make you miss turn 2 a lot of times and you definitely don't want that as a tempo deck.
It is simply not a card to play on turn 1. Not every card that costs 1 is meant to be played on turn 1. This card is more like turn 3-5 play together with card that offers some card that have synergy with it.
On turns 3-5 such a combo ain't impressive at all, it'd basically be a semi-targetable Multi-Shot but leave the totem without protection. Also, most Shaman decks running Flametongue Totem prefer to go wide (or face, if possible) rather than trading with their tokens since Maelstrom Portal is not a thing anymore. I rate this card bad, just not as bad as Forked Lightning.

Well, I just hope that blizzard breaks it pattern and releases more than one overload card.
