I'm excited to try out new decks, and they don't necesarrily have to be good for me to want to play them, so I'm not going to wait 2 weeks before the meta settles before crafting Dr. Boom, Mad Genius. I don't care if the deck is good, I want to try a new control warrior with the mech package and start pushing that red button! I also play recruit warrior from time to time, and I'm not sure how well The Boomship compliments the deck, but I''ll be keeping an eye on that one.
So far? Only Whizbang the Wonderful is worth crafting. Maybe even craft it golden so you have 18 golden decks for 3600 dust. You can play this "deck" for the first week, the meta will not be so competitive. Wait a week after release and then craft whatever druid deck they come up with. At least that's my plan.
To early to call. Wait until after the final reveal stream. But since people are basically repeating the same thing I am...
Dr. Boom, Mad Genius: It's a Hero Card. Hero Cards are always safe crafts. They're just too good, and Dr. Boom is what's bringing Warrior back into relevancy. The Mech synergy is just so good, and he even fits in nonmech decks because those hero powers are just so powerful. Gain 7 armor! Discover a Mech! Summon 3 1/1 mechs (which will have Rush because of the battlecry.) He's just so good and I can say without a doubt Dr. Boom will make Warrior viable again.
Flobbidinous Floop: The moment he was announced it was clear he was gonna be meta defining. He fits in pretty much any Druid archetype, and makes combos easier to pull off. There might need to be nerfs because he's so good.
Omega Agent and Omega Assembly: The Omega cards are broken. Decent midgame, and in late game become completely broken. The two that are the most broken though are Agent and Assembly. Agent is a 5 mana 4/5, which is decent though you won't wanna play her early. Once you get ten mana crystals, you then play her and she summons two additional copies of herself! That's 12/15 worth of stats for just 5 mana! What the fuck was Blizzard thinking?! As for Assembly, it fits for any Warrior deck. 1 mana get a Mech, so early game if you got no options play this to get one, or at the late game just fill your hand up with mechs, and chances are you'll have played Dr. Boom as well so those Mechs will also have rush. The other Omega cards are more broken in an Arena sense, but in constructed the Warrior and Warlock ones are gonna break the late game.
Whizbang the Wonderful: Metawise this card will never be used. But fun wise this is the perfect budget card since it gives you full access to all of the deck recipes. If the deck recipes got better than this would be the perfect budget option for climbing.
Zilliax: With the reintroduction of Mechs with the Magnetic keyword, Zilliax is gonna be a staple for Mech decks as a result. Even then on his own he's really good, even better than Al'Akir the Windlord.
Are you crazy? We can talk about that after all the cards are revealed. Even then, people tend to be completely wrong until they actually play them and try out the meta.
While we don't know what is a safe craft yet, I will say I don't think you should really disenchant anything. Some of these legendary minions look lackluster right now but the power level of the game is going to drop when the rotation happens and I could see some of them shining with just a bit of support in that new meta.
We are ALWAYS very wrong about cards, both overhyping and underestimating. The most claring recent example was probably Corridor Creeper, which few people predicted was busted.
Not really, a lot of cards have no enough support to be Tier 1 in standard. Most of the stuff revealed so far look like meme cards that may be useful in future expansions.
This expansion sure has its power level dropped compared to Kobolds and Catacombs, so nothing looks specially strong. Flobbidinous Floop and Electra Stormsurge are the only safe legendary crafts at the moment.
lol what? This expansion has an incredibly high power level so far, and only half the cards have been revealed!
Then they can reveal the next expansion and you can wait to craft again lol
This is true to many people sadly. I don’t understand the whole waiting mentality. Cards will be viable one day, not the next, so who cares. It’s all about CREATING and TESTING decks, not waiting on this site for a deck to copy and paste. The first month or so is the best time to play this game imo. So many fun decks to try.
Thanks all for the feedback! I should also have asked for the rationale behind the choice, for example some people answered that the paladin legendaries are safe crafts and they look pretty crappy to me. There are no powerful mechs so far, so what's the point of having a legendary spell to resurrect a few of them if it's just to bring back annoy-o-trons, the giggling inventor basically does the same. And if you play a mech deck on-curve you're bound to have a few low cost mechs dying and that will then be in your resurrection pool, unless you hoard them in your hand to only play big constructs with magnetic.
To those who say to wait - a couple of weeks into Witchwood I crafted Rin as control warlock looked like a cool and strong deck. A few weeks later came the Spiteful nerfs and now Rin is noncompetitive and basically just for a meme deck. All that to say - it's never safe to craft anything, at some stage you just have to select a deck and craft it...

Zilliax, Reckless Experimenter, Crystalsmith Kangor, Electra Stormsurge.

For legendaries, we will update this thread as soon as the numbers are reasonably clear:

The new hero is probably the safest one yet.
Who said the decks were going to be viable? If they are viable, it would probably only last for a week or two while the meta is still settling.
You're joking right? Most of the cards are incredibly strong and have insane affects.
Juicy Psychmelon x2
Top deck is cheat

Two Juicy Psychmelon particularly since it will likely be nerfed eventually anyway, so you'll get your dust back.
Electra will appear in most Shaman decks for the next 2 years, her effect is too good.
Zilliax will appear in a TON of decks since its neutral. Pair it with Corpsetaker and fill in the rest
Those 2 are craft and plug cards. A lot of other cards are/will be powerful, but will require a specific deck to pair with it.
Lmao, crafting Rin and trying to say it was a safe craft. What a joke.
