I wanted to say this is useless.. but it's actually quite good against big boards when you don't have concecration, just making all the board weaker without relying on having consecration too.
it's decent, if control paladin was a thing probably an auto include.
Paladin got cheaper options to cripple and destroy the board. However, Odd Paladin lacks any of those options, so I believe this is meant for Odd Paladin and Odd Paladin alone. If Odd Paladin doesn't discover Tarim from the Stonehill Defender, this card can be a backup. I put it as meta-defining because Odd Paladin doesn't need a buff but this card counts.
Maybe as a one of , you can only run so many tech cards. Also often your minions will be buffed by something, so there is some anti synergy .
This is the single best non legendary minion ever printed for paladin outside the basic cards. this is INSANE. I have 2,500 wins with the paladin class, and control archtype, and what the class needed for the longest time was a second set of equalities for wild pyro and concecration cOmbo's. this could have been 6 mana and it would have been busted. its equality and sunkeeper tarrim and aldor rolled into one card and I love it, THANK YOU BLIZZ :D
Well, the main issue with Control Paladin is that other Control decks ( Priest,Bigmage,Shudderwock, any Druid) are even slower than Paladin.
So , downgrading your own minions doesn’t help, eventually you end up having 2 useless cards in hand..... Equality on the other hand, you can use vs control with your tokens or later vs a huge Tauntwall from Druid , with Consecration without losing the attack on your minions... but maybe as a one of.
This isn't A tier. Equality is almost always paired with Wild Pyromancer, so it can be used as a 4 mana board clear. The fact that this affects Attack is practically irrelevant for what you would normally want it to do (i.e. clear the board entirely).
Nonetheless it neuters your opponent's board if they're showing too much damage, and allows you to come back from a poor board state. As others have said, this finds a place in Odd Paladin, and they are sorely lacking a board clear-esque card, so I suppose this will have to do.
I created a card with this exact name and similar effect like two years ago. My version was 3 mana rogue spell that set the attack and health of a single minion to 1.
I don't see why any deck would play this over Equality. Voted "bad".
Thing is you can play both.
There are a lot of even and odd pallys running around. Not sure if he was putting himself in the Even pally camp or just the general pally camp. Do you think Paladin lacks enough board control options that they would put this in plus equality? I'm not sure they would sacrifice a card slot for it when Equality's only function is a full board clear, whereas this is a pseudo-clear for 3 mana more. I guess I'm not sure.
The reason why you use this over equality sometimes is you can play it against aggro without instantly removing everything, that doesnt work with equality so pssshht
I mean you can play Equality without using wild pyro, but this is a bit late to counter some aggro decks that can kill you before turn 6.
This may help to counter big buff (magnetic) or big decks in general. Tarim will leave next year so you can use Shrink Ray to fill the blank space. Beside Tarim, Equality, Consecration, Paladin has almost no AOE or how to gain board control anyway. This is not that bad.
This also allows you to play more spells, buff's etc. being able to clear the board is better in a deck like that. But people are correct in thinking this has anti synergy with what midrangy paladin tries to do, which is being somewhat controlling, but also hit face as much as possible, thus outpacing (or having a chance to outpace) Druid and shudderwock. This is an even deck though, so wouldn't use this anyway. Still a potentially good card if Control/midrange paladin can do enough. Possibly good with odd paladin, but probably not, they aren't usually concerned with clearing the board.
It may also have a place in a different odd paladin that doesn't concentrate so much on zerging. maybe all the rest of the paladin mechs are odd.
I could also see this being used in an odd paladin that concentrates more on value. tap turns 2 and 3, clear the board with this and your dudes, precede playing all the high value 3 and 5 cost cards.... for 1 cost cards maybe run 1/4 weapon and some other valuable 1 cost.
this is pretty huge IMO, it fits in odd paladin as well. Gives the archetype a way to use equality. I think this will see play in odd paladin at least.
Now Baku lists can run an Equality essentially. There was some debate about Void Ripper in Odd Pala I remember, which probably means this card could see play.
odd paladin currently runs 2 void rippers I believe, same as most odd rogue decks.
there are obviously lots of variants, but looking at the decks with the most success x the most games played, they have 2 rippers. I definitely think this will see play in odd paladin.

The basic synergy between this and odd pally's hero power is just too good to ignore.

5 mana equality for odd paladin.
Probably will be played as a 1 off in Odd Paladin, strong card for the deck to counter things.
Wtf is that
Maybe a control odd pally will be possible.
Justicar have good times in midrange pally long ago...

My Odd Pally deck will absolutely run 1 copy of this.
Control Pally will absolutely run at least 1 copy of this. 2 Equalitys and this with Pyromancer and Consecration

Very decent. At 4 mana it would have been bonkers. But at 5 it's playable.
It's a balanced card. It'll see play for sure.

Yes be. Finally.
Today I talked about how paladin needs a board clear. This will make the cut.
