I don't even see how this card looks good on paper. This card just looks bad period. Though that's just my opinion and I've been very wrong about bad looking cards in the past but this one I just can't seem to see any redeeming qualities to it.
It's good on paper cause you can pull out 1/1 minions you may want to resurrect later. The point isn't to otk them when you play this. The point is to pull the minions out of your deck so you can kill them and then use the spell stone later to resurrect them THEN OTK them.
Play all your minions, hope they don't get transform-removed.
Play Diamond Spellstone, resurrect Radiant elem Malygos Velen and 4th minion, double mindblast for 40 damage, 9 mana.
I already play Shadow Essence just to play around transform removal and fish for my minions faster.
Zerek's Cloning Gallery plays around transform removal even better, and fishes for ALL my missing minions instead of one.
This was the reason I lost games, Malygos or Velen sitting at the end of my deck and being unable to cast fully charged mindblast combo.
I don't know about any other deck, but this is for sure a staple in this OTK spell priest.
I was about ready to argue with then as I was laying out my scenario it suddenly all made sense lol. I see what you are saying and that does just make the combo more reliable and with 2x shadow visions you can even dig for this if you need it.
Though I have to ask, what is the backup plan. I think part of the reason why Malygos Druid is so good is that you don't have to rely on the OTK.
Yeah shadow visions is the icing on the cake! Eternal Servitude is my back up plan currently. Play 2 of these into Velen or Malygos (you are guaranteed at least one of them in the discover options with only 4 different minions in your deck) then mindblast or double holy smite, or win with the board. Basically my back up plan is a very shitty big priest toolkit.
The 4th minion in your deck could help too. Lich king, Lyra, Obsidian statue, Thalnos.. There are options.
Anything that generates minion that die on your side of the board completely counters the deck though. The 2/6 taunt warrior thing, leeroy, etc, they'll fill diamond spellstone with trash.
I like this deck. Just need to figure out a way to get some card draw in there.
This would break the game for sure if Lab Recruiter were playable in priest. There's probably something stupid this can do anyway but it definitely seems much less obvious.

Okay, I'll explain why this sounds terrible, even on paper. By the time you play this, you'll have drawn anywhere from 1/3 to 1/2 of your deck. The minions you want to pull with this spell? Many of them will no longer be in the deck because you already drew them, thereby making this card weak and unreliable. On top of that, this card monopolizes your entire turn at 9 mana and the value you get from it will be a few 1/1 bodies. Your agenda with the card is irrelevant. It doesn't matter if you are wanting to do some OTK shenanigans or wanting to recruit minions to res later to pull off your OTK combo. The card sucks.

I get what you are saying but your missing the point. The thought is to run an OTK deck with only 4 different types minions. Maly, Velen, Radiant elemental and whatever fourth creature you want. For the below example we'll say Lyra.
Lets say that I have drawn 2 of the creatures needed for the combo, Velen and a Radiant. I played them earlier completely on their own. They are now long dead. I have yet to play or draw Maly (or the other radiant but for this example that is moot). I play this card. It then plays a 1/1 Malygos, a 1/1 Radiant Elemental and a 1/1 Lyra. At this point I pass the turn. I will assume the opponent will kill my 1/1s though if they don't all the better. Now I will Spell Stone. Since I used this to dig for a 1/1 copy of Malygos earlier he is certain to be rezed. along with a radiant, Velen and Lyra. I now Just mindblast twice for 40 damage.
The point is to resurrect your combo minions. You can't do that if you don't draw them. So this ensure they hit the board at some point in order to die.
This is just an example. Really the point is that as a class who likes to resurrect their minions this isn't here to be some OTK card you set up the same turn you play it, rather a card that can pull creatures you WANT to die so you can resurrect them. If you have already pulled them then great play em let die then res em. If you haven't however this can get them on the board and ready to get cleared.
I don't disagree that this card is slow, perhaps too slow to see any top or mid tier play. But It's a combo set up, at least, worth playing for fun in my opinion. I'll save full judgment though till after we see the full set.
Just not good enough for 9 mana - I mean ideal situation you have Ysera, Lich King and Statue, even then it's minions from your deck - I mean compare this to N'zoth it's so much worse for 1 mana cheaper. Why not just play the Priest spellstone if you want to bring back powerful minions??
It should at least have been summon them from hand and deck, even then it's not close to OP....
I'm totally disappointed. 9 mana spell for combo ? Right? Because tempo cards does nothing. And good for deathrattle cards for sure!
Combo matchup — I run combo deck and can say for sure, this cards wont get any effect, because you draw minions untill 9 turn most of time... even if you cast this and get combo minions, you have 0 mana (1 mana) maybe you have Radiant Elemental and this gives you opportunity to deal 54 damage if everything is just perfect. But this case will never happen ))))
Maybe you already have some minions on a board with Shadow Essence — then its a better matchup, but anyways I think this card is bad... Too expensive and too risky
Honestly, this card should summon the full stat versions instead of 1/1s at it's cost. Just look at Bloodreaver Gul'dan and N'Zoth, the Corruptor. I'm sorry but there's just not that big a difference between 9 mana and 10 and it seems like it'd be a lot easier to control what Demon or Deathrattle minions die rather than try to control which minions you don't want to draw...
3 real options here that I can see in theory but fail practically:
1. Big Priest - the cost just really drags this down; also you may draw your big minions before this spell = inconsistancy
2. Quest priest - probably the most favorable match, but I feel like it would need more powerful deathrattles to work; right now the deathrattles in quest priest mainly just draw and generate cards and while card generation is generally favorable, card draw may hurt you in fatigue. Also, by turn 9 there is a good chance you have already completed the quest if you had a good starting hand, or you're already close to its completion
3. Combo Priest - the fact that it depends on cards still in your deck and you can only have one copy of this card makes it almost unplayable (not to mention the high cost of the card)
My final verdict: this card is bad. Its high cost, legendary status (1 copy limit), and dependency on the cards still in your deck make it too inconsistent and too slow to see competitive play

Also, to the people claiming this card to be broken in Wild Big Priest

It makes me wonder what else priest is getting. It's honestly difficult to see an effect like this without us getting more. You bring up a good point when looking at Gul'Dan and N'zoth. 1 mana less for a LOOOOOT less stats. Even with those being limited to deathrattle and demons and being one more mana it doesn't justify this cards cost. It only functions as some sort of combo piece, but at the moment, even in the scenario's where I see getting use out of the card it's not in even a mediocre deck. There has to be something else :(

b) survive and don't draw a single one of those minions before turn 9 (8 with The Coin)
c) play it, summon a bunch of 1/1s and hope that your opponent won't answer it by smashing your face
Also, to people saying Shadow Visions will guarantee an early enough copy of this card; you'll have a few minions and a LOT of different spells, it's gonna be very hard to get exactly what you need at any given moment, which is the real strength of visions...
It could make the OTK revive priest really good bcs it pulls all the minions out for you, and you can revive them next turn.
More fuel for my standard big priest is always nice :D

First thing that comes to mind is quest priest. Seems kind of scary.

huge potential here but honestly seems too slow
big priest probably dont need it,may be quest priest or some combo deck ?

You can't stop the signal.
Call me crazy, but I added it to my theorycraft deathrattle tempo priest deck. Summoning 1/1 Obsidian Statues, Coffin Crashers, The Lich King, Devilsaur Eggs, Silver Vanguards, or Cobalt Scalebanes can't be THAT bad can it?
Deck is my my signature is you want to take a look.
Too high mana for 1/1 minion and too slow...
this card along with awaken the makers will make sure you complete the quest in 1 turn
lol....that would be so annoying
Your imagination is so strong that you completely create cards that don't exist right before trying to insult someone. Try again!
