As someone who has played a lot of Paladin, this seems meh. In Wild Secret Paladin, the Redemption / Noble Sacrifice / Avenge combo gives value even if MC is plated on an empty board... no matter who your opponent attacks, you end up with a buffed MC and 2/1 Defender.
With this card, your opponent can just go face. If you add this to the combo, Avenge doesn't trigger.
In standard, this is good as non-spell protection for a single minion, but only if the opponent doesn't something to pop the secret with first.
IMO, this will only really be good in a control or mid deck when used with taunt. Even then, (sadly) minion combat is becoming scarce in HS these days. Important minions are killed with spells and battlecries that won't trigger this.
Seems like there are way better cards than this, and I doubt it will find its way into many decks
Is this some sort of meme or something? Is that why everyone is saying it's broken and it has a mostly "very good" rating?
This card seems exceptionally average. A little better than Hand of Protection in some cases, but much worse in many others. And really, unless you have a half decent minion and your opponent has a half decent minion that they have to attack with first, it could be as bad as "give a minion +1 health when it gets attacked".
Not impressed. Really the only time it's better than Hand of Protection is when you want to divine shield an important minion that might die to attacking, but you can't afford that divine shield to fall off too easily. Outside of stopping easy divine shield pinging, that's a pretty fringe case.

This is different than just giving a minion Divine Shield. You have to attack the minion first to proc the secret, so the attacking minion is going to take the damage.

Yeah, it's worse. I play Hand of Protection on minion, you need to pop it before you can damage the minion. You can do that by attacking it (attacking minion will take damage) or with a spell.
With this, you can just kill the minion with a spell, and it won't trigger. Or you can attack like before. My minion will get DS, your minion will pop it an take damage.
The only upside to this over Hand of Protection is that the DS cant be popped with a cheap spell or hero power
It's good, but not great. If you're playing around noble sac, you're also playing around this.
There are two situations in which you play around Noble Sacrafice. Throwing a smaller minion in first, in which case it's the same as noble sacrifice in most cases (your small 1/1 or 1/2 dies) or you are throwing in a minion who won't die to noble sacrifice (anything with 3+ health), in which case the minion may actually die instead, so in this case it's a little better.
Where it's worse than noble Sac is when you attack a minion that already has divine shield, OR if they attack your face. One of these is controllable (dont' play divine shield minions when this is up).
My question is if you play both and they throw their small minion into your big minion, noble sacrifice triggers does this trigger as well and what minion will it land on? Cause in conjunction these could be pretty powerful.
Yap, pretty meh by itself but a nice discover from Hydrololgist.
Hand of Protection is just better since you can Divineshield a buffed minion and then do the trade. Paladins heropower is kinda countering this secret, since you often will have a 1/1 on the board.

My guess is that it would depend on the order played, like hunter secrets. So if you play Matrix first, the divine shield will trigger on the attacked minion, THEN the Sacrifice will trigger, defender will be summoned and the attack will shift to the defender. If you play Sacrifice first, the defender will be summoned, the attack will switch to the defender, THEN matrix will trigger and hit the defender. Just a guess.
I dont get the ratings of this card... if this ever becomes a meta card it will be very easy to read, thus will be easy to play around. It is a bit stronger than Noble sacrifice, but that card is only played by the murloc's discovery. If you play a single big threat with this, this thing still wont protect it from hard removal, or a board that has a small minion on it. Good with Bellringer Sentry, and probably in arena tho.
Very overrated. In aggro, you're spending a card to protect a small body; in control, you don't want small, low-impact cards. Maybe in a meta where minion-based board control is king, this would be good. Also note the anti-synergy with cards that already have Divine shield, and silver hand recruits. Overall, weak in almost every circumstance. It's not strictly better or worst than Hand of Protection, and that card isn't even close to being viable, so I can't fathom why so many people think this will be played. Yes, there's secret synergy, but even in secret decks, it's a weak card that probably won't make the cut.
Easy 5 stars, very powerful, if only for every silver recruit's life being saved a starving child in africa was also saved, oh well
Don't mind me just passing by

This is a gooooood Paladin secret.
Too good imo

This is an OP card for aggro decks
Power creep on get down.
Anger is the punishment we give ourselves for someone else's mistake.
Good Hydrologistbuff.
Not worth a deck slot though.

Looks pretty decent to me. Will have to see it in action though.

Yeah, I remember . It had quite some upvotes and people discussed if it’s better than getdown or Hand of Protection ^^

It is nice to see Bolvar, Fireblood getting some support before it rotates.
